India (205/5) comprehensively defeat Australia (181/7) by 24 runs to book their spot in the Semi-Finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Need a wicket or two soon. I don't think Hardik's the right choice...too much like Stoinis but do we have options?

Nope I understood your point: India got to a final of a world cup they should have won, they didn't and Indian fans are still up in arms about it (as well they should be), Indian fans feel they hold their team to higher standards, which I agree with considering that the Indian team should have won that World cup, all the odds where in their favour and to lose (and in the fashion that India did) would be quite embarrassing.

You made a point about Pakistani fans not holding their team to the same standard, which is also fair and made an example of Pak fans/pundits feeling that the achieving the 2022 final was enough as a justification for this statement. My response was that the reason Pakistani fans didn't hold their team to the same standard is because a) getting to the final of the 2022 was Pakistan punching above their weight and b) the manner in which Pakistan got to the final was purely luck based, Pakistan didn't deserve to be in that final, they got schooled by Zimbabwe in the same tourney, even in this tourney...Pak got schooled by USA.

Indian fans have every right to hold their team to higher standards, India has been in more positions where they should have won and didn't (2023 final, 2019 semis).....but the attitude and weak mindedness remains the same regardless of where you go with fans in the subcontinent.

You are repeating the same thing I said.

Indian fans want us to dominate like windies and Aussies, anything less than that is a failure for us.

This has nothing to do with being weak minded, it’s just the expectations from a team with most resources in a sport played by handful of nations, in a country with more three to four times the population of all other countries playing that sport combined.

There’s nothing wrong with having expectations of being the best and dominating the sport like US dominates Olympic Basketball.

Below garbage akshay kumar needs to be taken to the cleaners watch & learn Imad

Nice trap for Marsh there and he gets away with it again. In a way a below par 5 overs for Aussies. It gets difficult to hit after 15. They need to be around 120 at 10 overs

So seeing Aussies chasing it down easily, can we finally see Dube out?
Or will the management be stubborn like they were with Jadhav and cost us another World Cup?

The main problme for Australia will start after the 10 over mark. So need to bash a lot more runs until then

If Aussies cross 174, it is bad for Afghanistan.

As long as India keep Australia to 174 or less, Afghans just have to win to go through.

INdia's field set was a let down. You have point for Head always. Even IPL teams figured that out and trapped him.

No. I checked the NRR equations on Cricinfo.

What you are saying is only applicable if Aussies lose by 31 runs or more.

As of now, Australia have a much superior NRR.

Bhai if Australia lose they will be on 2 points and if Afghanistan beat Bangladesh they will have 4 points.

NRR only comes in picture when teams have equal points,

I havent repeated anything youve said, I gave a measured response to your deduction that Indian fans hold their team in higher regard than Pakistani fans and gave you a few logical reasons why this might be the case.

Indian fans are wrong to have that expectation (Pakistani fans have the same expectations by the way, are you new here to Pakpassion? ) re: Windies and Aussies and dominating like these teams in various points of their history.

Windies were blessed with raw talent and dominated for years in the game when there was less rules and regulations.

Aussies are built differently and have a miles better first class system than any of the subcontinent teams, theres also alot more discipline (not withstanding homework gate!). Pipe dreams really.

Ultimately Pak/Ind fans have the same issue: way too many expectations, but I agree Indian fans definitely have more reasons to expect more and be more angered when their team fails to perform.

We're getting a clearer picture now whether this was an extraordinary innings by Rohit or the pitch is flat.

Come on Aus don’t want crappy afghans in the semis it de values the tournament just like USA did in the super 8s

Afghans are decent though, would love to see them in the Semis at either of these two teams expense. Good talented side and not only this, they have a good sense for the game. That win against Australia where they planned their batting innings in order to ensure they got to an above par score speaks volumes for their backroom staff too.
