I like England’s thinking - treating this like a practice game and an audition for the Ashes squad. Showing India’s actual level in tests
If this is all that England has for the Ashes, then it's going to shellacking yet again for England Down Under.

Flopswal will keep getting hundreds on flat tracks in first match of the series & keep playing for rest of the series. This won't work for long. Same happened in Australia, same here.
Jaiswal scored more runs in Australia than Steve smith that too as an opener. Openers have the toughest job.

3pm local time match to restart.

England need to come hard out of the blocks, a few quick wickets is very much possible.

Ya. that is right. exactly why Stokes bowled 140 overs in this series more than he ever bowled in his career and injured himself. Good practice lol Amount of saltiness is really fun to watch
Real saltiness is to see Indians defending Gambhir on curator issue and then next moment tearing him apart for the teams performance. Poor Lads...one minute down and next minute up 😂😂

Hey i am not defending his words. I just say there was a bit of bias going on there fro the curator. Both can be true. Gambhir being insulting and curator being biased.

Well why do you guys think, England won't be preparing for Ashes already. May be I missed. Is there any Test fixture in between for them to make some test and trials.

They have made some silly selection but in hindsight appears to be preparing for Ashes. Which they will most probably loss anyway

Atleast Stokes team is not selling that story of "we are preparing for ashes" while playing everyone else. THey focus on beating everyone. They ddi that in Pakistan winning 4 tests in a row. They beat NZ in NZ. This excuse is not even given by English tehse days. So it is quiet comical some pakistan giving excuse on behalf of England

Well who exactly is Karun Nair? Did he get selected bcz of IPL?
No. First class performance. Had a solid season. Reason he got more attention because he was dropped after a few failures following his 300 in the test against England. THen he tweeted "test match give me a chance". So he had sympathy on his side. But sadly that is all on his side. There are many many youngsters that look better than him.

The same way England NEVER fielded their best XI...and I have been saying this for long. Woods, Curran brothers, Leach, Bairstow, Ollie Robinson to name a few who never even featured in the squad while most of them are playing county with flying colors

WOod is completely unfit. Leach is best bowler? lol Bairstow is gone case. Ollie RObinson was reduced to a spinner in India bowling pies. Tongue dismissed Both warner and smith in the same match with raw pace.

All 4 barring leach are crap

Wood is injury prone and washed
Curran brothers are crap top Especially Tom
Boldstow? He is fat and crap

India are missing far more quality players

Oh poor gill, couldnt break Bradman's record despite indians claiming he could.

Don is don, India couldn't ever compete.

Why the hell are they going after these quick runs? Foolish Gambhir might have asked them to run quick singles to ensure England bowl at different batsmen (left & right)... Been happening right from the 1st test...

Gill always looks for it. But more often than not decisive. This one time he made a mistake. He didn't realize how straight he had hit the ball. Possibly thought wide of bowler. There was zero run there. He could not afford to take even one step outside the creaes. But he somehow found himself in the middle of the pitch.

Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner on Test Match Special

England won't mind. A nice little break, put their feet up and let the pitch juice up a little bit.

When England play at home, they seem to have a bit of luck. Tosses go their way, the clouds as well but I guess you make your own luck.

Too bad so sad, Gill cant beat Bradman's record 😭😭
I think 95% of Indians (cricket-fans) are unaware of this record and they don't bother either... We are worried about the match & series... I think you are obsessed with this! We would be just glad if we find another quality No.4 test batter is emerged for India and he is settled... That's important to maintain our test-legacy... (because we-Indian team often don't have the luxury of strong bowling unit, so we rely on building a formidable batting unit & that usually revolves around No.4)

First of all 95% indian don't even watch cricket that often and forget about them watching test matches.
but the remaining people were frustrated on every post that shubman gill missed on scoring 1000 runs in a series after 3rd test.
Asian people are obsessed with individual records so yes indians do care about these records.

Yes yes, that's why an indian poster posted that stat and 3 indian poster claimed gill would break the record.

Blame your fellow posters

Lol at indians > Disrespecting Bradman. Truth is the era Bradman played in, none of these current wannabee cricketers would survive.

World War people were built different. They aren't like the crappie millennial and Gen Z era players, they were big boss men.

Breaking Bradman's record of scoring 974 runs in a series is a goat record. Unlike sachin who consistently gets his records broken by the likes of kohli, Root, Smith,

Bradman is unstoppable, Unbreakable Unshakable and Unbeatable.

But can Gill meet the legacy of Hasan Nawaz? i doubt so.

There are group of people Indian fans have to mute. Otherwise this won't be a match thread. There is too much noise pollution from fake australian fan who is actively rooting for England lol No Aussie does that.

Just put him on ignore list. Nobody takes him seriously except those who enjoy destroying him. Not everyone need to do that. :inti
