I made a call based of pitch and conditons but england botched it at the end.

I knew 373 wasnt going to be enough as pitch would not deteriorate but oh well, England bottle job and bethall being a clown is nothing new.

Baz picked Gill. Gauti picked Brooks. Gill is not a terrible choice. But from what i heard Baz picked Gill even yesterday before the match was over. If he had picked today he probably would have picked Siraj. But Brooks is a weird pick. Obviously Stokes should have been the one as he won two MOM awards. If not Root.

FTB Jaimie Smith was completely clueless against the moving ball. I hope Scot Boland will have field day with this guy in Ashes.
 
India pulled off a great win. Siraj gets all the credit for his gutsy bowling on the final day... England has the game in the bag but they choked.

Both him and brook are victims of the reckless bazball mentality. As talented batters as they are, they could score even more runs if they used half their brain.
Jamie Smith has already proven himself in tough conditions against the moving ball. Also a far better player of spin than Brook, proved it in 3rd test in pindi last year on a turner.
He should smash washed up Lyon in the ashes.

That is how they have won so many tests. why would they change? That is his pet shot much like defensive shot for many. Pant does it all the time. So does Jaiswal. Besides most of the time ENgland plays that way because they don't have sound defense. They are not technically good apart from Root.

Gambhir would feel better with 3-5 win/loss in 10 test matches in Australia-England with close losses at the MCG & Lord's.

Better to play 4 proper bowlers when India tours New Zealand next year for 2 tests.

They won't win any in Australia with this approach. England have largely been successful on flat tracks, bazball won't work on quicker pitches in Australia.

I think England deserved to lose the 2nd Test the way India were on their heels throughout waiting for them to slip up.

Really poor first innings batting having shot India out for a low score. Really poor closing out having to chase 100 odd with 7 wickets in hand.

Biggest disappointment for me in this Test was Jamie Smith, he let his team down in both innings on his home ground.

India didn't win any of the 3 tests Bumrah played. But people will conviently now act like he contributed to help India draw this series when he didn't

India won both test when Bumrah was conviently sat out on his ****.

You didn't see bowlers in past picking and choosing what tests to play in a series

Siraj never bowled below 131 KMPH in this series while Kamboj in the only test he played bowled in early 120s.

Don't want to be too harsh on the debutant but he had 1 golden chance and he fluffed that royally. Who knows when will he get his next chance?

Since Siraj's test debut, nobody has been denied by the umpire's call as often as he has: 6 times. Nathan Lyon comes close with 5, but he has also had 5 umpire's calls go his way. Siraj has only 2.

Many English & Australian cricket pundits are comparing this series to the 2005 Ashes. Even if not true (for the quality of cricket and pitches), any series compared to that one has to be epic in its own right.

Hope the Ashes matches up to this series and does not turn out to be a one-sided damp squib.

They are neither seen as British nor as Pakistani. Even in UK, they are poorer and less educated than British Indians who have integrated nicely with the white society.

Wasn't on PP whole series due to injury/surgery....but what an awesome series, one of the all timers in tests....
Am not into comparing with ashes 05 or aus-Wi 60-61 or any other series, let's leave the semantics as nationalistic jingoism will come into this.
Each day each session-almost each ball, there was skill, fortitude, resilience , spirit, strategy on display - in spades.
One felt series like this will goad any youngster to fall in love enough to take up the sport...& Also place test cricket on the pedestal it deserves...
To the eng fans here- my commiserations. To several 'locals" - read real cricket loving fans who were fulsome in their appreciation -you know who U are- cheers guys!
