What's new

India [230/4] beat South Africa [227/9] by 6 wickets in the 8th match of the 2019 World Cup

Batting is not in form and very thin. Would be happy if they prove me wrong but this batting line up is weakest. All world cup and big events India win were because of a strong middle order. India is yet to replace Yuvraj and that's the main concern. Maybe Rahul or Dhoni can fulfil yuvi's role this WC but if not then we won't win.

In that case you better start padding up yourself!!:salute

imagine if south africa had steyn and olivier on this pitch.
i think they could have made a match out of it.

Should have given the likes of Mayank and Shaw some chances before this WC.

Yeah especially Olivier who likes to bang it in.

I can't remember English pitches being as bouncy as it has been in this World Cup.

How has Rabada not taken a wicket yet. Another excellent delivery.

Our top order is all over the place especially Rohit. Watching him bat currently is very embarassing.

Rhit is always on the edge until 20-25 runs. You can get him easily in that period if you bowl well. Once Rohit crosses 50, he's harder to dismiss than Kohli
Currently it is looking that Rohit will need to bat at least half a dozen times to get to his 50.

Rohit survives. If SA can't get him out before 10th over, they will lose 100%. Small targets are Dhoni's bread and butter

Yup can only hope they slowly play themselves in form in this match. Target is not high and bowling is good if they can playnto survive slowly they will get back in form.

We put all our eggs in one basket of Rohit and Dhawan even after knowing that they've been in pathetic form for more than a year now.

Great to see this contest between batsman and bowler. This always makes for compelling viewing.

This WC has been a refreshing change from most ODIs in England where we see one ball after another launched into the stands.

He is technically not a sound player. Good player when the ball comes in straight line. Any seam movement he is clueless.
No wonder he is such a dud in test cricket. But our captain clueless is still hell bent on making a test cricketer out of him.

They have been one of the best openers in the world in ODI right now

If pitches will be as bouncy as this throughout the WC then West Indies have a really good chance of reaching SFs given their tall pacers.

Dhawan gone. I think India will lose this one. Rabada 10 over survival will be tough on this pitch.

:out I'm expecting Kohli to finish it off here or lay a big platform.

Rabada troubling elite batters when people saying Steyn is a better LO bowler.

You love to see it.

Always lovely seeing India struggle. Onwards Rabada

If only SAF had Ngidi here aswell bowling together with Rabada would've made life of indian batsmen difficult.

If they get Kohli early I will not rule out an upset win

Those posters who said this WC would be boring have no right watching this.

Excellent cricket on show here.

That's why it was such a pathetic effort from Indian bowlers to let SA tail score so many runs.

Best batsman in the world walks in and straight away greeted with a bouncer from one of the best pacers in the world. This is PROPER cricket.

This is one of the best spells of pace bowling ever witnessed in a World Cup. Brilliant from Rabada.

But but the World Cup will be boring.

That thread needs bumping.

India's run rate tho :))

This is difference between India and the marauding Aussies of the 2000s. In chasing a tiny target the Aussies will seek to get so far ahead of the rate that even if they lose a bunch of wickets the other bats will just have to knock it around.

This tuk tuk is only digging a whole for themselves. If they lose a couple of wickets the new bat will not only face pumped up bowlers but almost no runs on the board

How Faf du Plessis would wish Rabada had better support here than Chris Morris.

Morris is a trier but not really someone you'd want taking the new ball in a pivotal World Cup match.

Before searching for it, I thought he wouldn't be out :))

I think any part of the batsman's equipment breaks the stumps its out. I remember some Pak batsman who got out because the ball hit his helmet and helmet fell onto the stumps.

Ngidi and Steyn out. Can't plan for that

Morris is not threatening but aleast he is not leaking runs. India only have perhaps a couple more overs of Rabada to see through then it is easy sailing.

Bit of banter going on between Sachin and Saurav.

How will India play Tahir?

Who is the woman in the sunglasses they just showed

Great bowling.
And here i thought India will chase it without a lot of difficulty.
If their top 3 continue to be out of form it will be really hard for them.Their batting is dependent on these 3 majorly.

14 runs in 7 overs. I know India are chasing below par total but with this batting line up what will be India's highest total in this WC?

Current run rate 1.95! Pakistani batsman would have been massacred by people here if they had batted like this...
