India [230/4] beat South Africa [227/9] by 6 wickets in the 8th match of the 2019 World Cup

Faf fought really hard against the toughest phase. Even if he scores 70 or 80 this will be one of the best innings of this world cup.
 
South Africa can pose a great challenge if they score even 220-230 here. Indian batsmen are bound to struggle on this pitch.
 
Harsha Bhogle has passed his shelf life...he was good and a novelty in the 90's and the early 2000's....he's tending to grate with his random descriptions and comparisons and the staccato rapid fire commentry....i mean i liked him then...but time to retire now or stick to IPL...
 
One of these 2 will need to bat until the end. Getting set against a softer ball versus Bumrah and Kuldeep won't be easy.
 
Anyone seeing the game on hotstar in India? How to switch over to English commentary?

Strong possibility of it. I am looking forward to Rabada vs Kohli battle. Kohli should be pumped up to face him after that igniting comment of Rabada about him.
 
These 2 have shown character to come back. South Africa could have easily collapsed.
 
Pandya as 3rd seamer looks to be one of the weak links for India. Also pretty surprising that they have only 3 specialist seamers in the squad.
 
South Africa need to find out how Van Der Dussen became so calm under pressure and how he is so mentally strong!
 
I love how balanced and composed van der Dussen looks while batting. So pleasing on the eye.
 
SA needs to attack the wrist spinners, if they let them settle down they will cause problems.

Morris looked ordinary against us? What about the replacement of Steyn? He should have played in place of Morris.
 
Is'nt that Klaassen guy playing? I thought he was awesome against us in the SAF series in 2018...
 
At pace these two are playing if they would have been in Pak team, fans would have been all over them.

Their batting depth would have been pretty weak then with Phehlukwayo coming in at no 7.
 
Why did AB D retire such selfish manner before the biggest cricket event, the CWC!

He's got a good domestic record behind him. A seasoned cricketer.

That's how you should select players, not fast-track kids with just one half-decent PSL or other T20 league to their name.

Like I said chahal is a match winner but what’s up with dussen for a player of his composure that was a ridiculous shot
 
Van Der Dussen has the mentality but seems to lack the quality to really take the game away from you. When it's been time to accelerate in all 3 games , he had given it away.

I would keep him around after the WC, but he won't be the batting leader for South Africa.

22 off 37, cant even think if it had been played by a Pak player and what fans would have said
 
wicket gifted, SA are so terrible you don't need to do anything special to beat them, never expected them to be this bad.
 
Where did all the Indians go lol a wicket fell now it should be way too easy for India nothing more than 200

True. I dont mind emerging player rule but their should be one spot for U27 domestic performers as well.

No need to play such a shot. Play each ball on its merits. SAF have become very weak vs spin.

True...i thought he still had it in him for one final fling at the WC...its not that he was not performing before....i guess his family and things like that took priority....but he would be handy right now...

Faf never looked convincing against the spinners today.
 
Lol like I said India’s very lucky as well playing a totally out of form and already out of the tournament South Africa but chahal is a great bowler
 
One over two wickets, good bowling but none of the delivery was unplayable. SA batsmen just cant read him from the hand
 
It will be seriously hard for Pakistan to negate this attack. Very potent attack by India. Notice how their spinner bowl slow, unlike shadab and how effective they are.
 
That's why Pakistan needs to play extra batsman against India. Extra Skilled batsman, like Haris Sohail
 
South Africa to be bowled before 150. This indian attack is too potent

That’s even more selfish. Country comes first unless you family is at the most vulnerable. You can’t be a true patriot if you do such thing before a major event. The least you can do is play the event ahead and give your country one final chance with you being in the side!

It’s not like as if his fam are in danger. We’ve heard people play cricket even when their parent passed away day or two before. The fact is AB D is a missionary, selfish cricketer! It’s okay for him and his fam for him to spend 2/3 months in India playing IPL earning big bucks.

India have bowled well, but South Africa have batted atrociously too, all their batsmen have looked totally unconvincing.

I read somewhere that Hendricks was gonna arrive this morning from SA, so he couldn’t possibly have bowled today.
