India [230/4] beat South Africa [227/9] by 6 wickets in the 8th match of the 2019 World Cup

Morris should look to attack. South Africa need runs. Andile should aim to bat through.
 
Rohit looks to have expanded horizontally....must be at least 90 kgs +...looks like he has'nt refused any 2nd helpings of vada pao's or sev misal's in recent times...:)....hope he still bats the same....:)

Kuldeep took 6 for 25 "on these wickets" against "more than decent team" . Atleast check their stats for the last few years before mouthing off.

Rohit was always fat, that has never affected his form.
 
Currently I would never pick Bhuvi over Shami. Heck if it's a green pitch I would drop a spinner for Bhuvi.
 
South Africa should try to bat out the overs. Anything is possible in World Cups.

SA will reach 150 by 40th over. Next 10 overs 150 easy peasy 300.

He was one of the quickest around when he was young. He still have safe hands but over all ground fielding has gone down with weight

SA has some decent upcoming talent in Hamza, Malan, Sipamla, Mulder and leader in Markram
 
This quota player Andile might not be the most talented cricketer, but he plays for the shirt, which should be an eye opener for everyone.

Same was said about Biff's generation and AB's. Time will tell though. I'll support them until my death, no changing that. It's very frustrating though.

yes...agreed....still remember that runout of Justin Kemp...2007 T20 WC against SAF in SAF...pure diamond crazy runout....just like the one which warner was runout by Bevuma- saf vs aus 2017 or so

Yea. Apart from Australia I don't see any other team fan not getting frustrated of their team performance in world cups.

And after Jurgen Klopp's UCL trophy I believe any team in sports can win a tournament, even if they are losing every time at the last stage.
 
India have a chance to get the top 3 in some form. They wont need to play risky shots early.

Excellent start to the tournament by India. Regardless of their weak middle order, they wont be an easy team to beat.
 
India are playing their 1st game. If South Africa were just on right track to make even 250, their bowling is capable to show up on their day.

I won't be harsh on them this year. They are in rebuilding phase. But last year it was criminal not being able to defend 18 runs in the last 8 balls by Steyn and Morkel with Vettori and Elliott at the crease. You just have to bowl a few wide yorkers.
 
I think SA cant win against India until they sort out how to play wrist spinners. Even kholi said so at the Toss.

Kuldeep is not getting as much purchase as Chahal gets. May be the way their wrist operates. Kookaburra with less seam is hard to tweak.

Pak and SA are two of the cricketing nations who have just kept on competing inspite of all the adversities they have faced through out one way or another. I am sure SA team will be fine going forward.

Bumrah wont be easy to get away. I would bring him on now. I think he could blow the tail away.
 
I think Amla needs to bat in the middle order his ability to play fast bowling has diminished but can still handle spin.

Pandya exploited the conditions well. Remember he won a Test against England with his bowling in ENgland. But that was Duke ball though. He was able to get some movement.

You mean 2015? Yep, 2015 and 1999 was ours for the taking. Had we met Australia in the final of 2015, I believe we would have won.

Meh, I'm sure he had good reasons, more than he's telling the media and public though. I honestly don't blame him. Between CSA, the state of our country, the constant pressure of having to carry the team, I believe "tired" was probably the closest thing to the truth he could muster.

Most of the wickets were due to good balls rather than slogging. Even the one they slogged was is due to the frustration created by good balls.
 
Point of Pandya bowling? Sometimes Kohli just doesn't think. He is obsessed with finsihing 5th bowler quota.
 
If opposition cant target Indian spinners, they need to target Pandya and Bhuvi, otherwise they will remain under pressure. Ideally should put pressure on spinners straight on and then move on from there. Van der Dussen was the only one who tried but selected a wrong shot.
 
Aw this guy was out of form all IPL and at the international. Suddenly playing one of those innings he does every 25 innings.
