India (231/4) defeat Bangladesh (228) by 6 wickets to make a triumphant start to their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign

Almost 12 overs of dot balls in 21 overs played by us. Not good

Abhishek should be at 6 or 7.he is too reckless as an opener in odis unless he shows restraint .he can be raina or Arnold style to up the ante against the spinners.

Agreed bro. Sachin is in a different league. He always held his own even when he was well past his prime. Never wasted too many deliveries or use an actual match to get back into form like Kohli is doing here.

Reckless is what is needed in power play. He is a lottery. If he clicks, its game over and India wins.

He is also a handy bowler in middle overs. Can easily bowl 5 overs to compliment his aggressive batting at the top.

His time will come , so will Jaiswal . It depends on how long Sharma plays , it looks like he wants to play next WC

That was due to home den advantage. He'd have failed in other conditions that weren't tampered to suit to his needs since he's a clown vs legspin ever since his form slump and a clown against pave bowling pitched on the 3rd offstump line and just as I type this he gets out to legspin lol.
 
The ball is stopping and slowing down to batsman. The pitch is not easy to bat. BD would have wished if they had 270 runs on board they could have win this game.
 
Poor dismissal. Should've continued his safety first approach. That's what is needed in this format.

He scored runs on all kind of pitches, if the pitches were flat Aus wouldn’t have gotten out on 199 in first match, sam goes for the match against Sa and Nz.
 
Fizz should retire from ODI. Play t20 only. Only format he can be effective since batsman have to hit at everything hence gives him chances should he bowl his slower cleverly
 
Runout chance wasted. Daft Shanto should have thrown it to the bowl. The bowler who is a massive liability now, has the outmost khet mentality didnt bother to run back to the wickets to run him out.

Australia is an Outlier. They sucked against sa as well early on.

Sa was the biggest case of pitch tampering and NZ vs India, India outbatted them, they scored highly.

Bcci tampered pitches for 2023, it's clear as day. Infact they specifically ensured it to have kohli break the record in his birthday and create a bollywood esc story.

Pitches were curated to avoid legspin for Kohli lol
 
shreyas iyer is acknowledged by indian fans as their best batter agianst spin in white ball cricket.. he will be expected to close the game by scoring at brisk rate against spinners

Btw pls dont quote me with the idiotic pitch tampering thing again, a pitch isn’t tampered for just one player and India played on all kinds of pitches where opposition were bundled out for low scores too, next time you want to use this argument please post with stats of all the matches in that world cup.

His bowling is very good. I will prefer sai /abhishek to be flexible. Sai showed he can handle pacers on sa spicy wickets .we need sai and jaiswal to handle as rest are too flashy.

Or are you saying pitch was tampered mid innings.

bangladesh needs iyer's wicket.. he could be very dangerous against the spinners if gets set..

Bcci tampered pitches for WC 2023. It's an undeniable fact and it was clear as day.

Babar was chasing much bigger total , If India was chasing similar one , Kohli would have been more aggressive , would have been out maybe , but would have shown more intent.

Gill's momentum lost only after Kohli arrived though. He lost his strike for a very long time where he allowed spinners to get away with cheap overs. He got a lot of half trackers. Hit everything straight to fielder
