India (231/4) defeat Bangladesh (228) by 6 wickets to make a triumphant start to their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign

To all my Indian brothers that I respect @Hitman @jeeteshssaxena @Nikhil_cric and even @Rajdeep (even though I disagree with him on everything)

I want India to win this game. Unlike other pakistani's who are keeping their fingers crossed, the truth is neither Pakistan nor Australia deserve to qualify. Australia's lack of interest and certain selfish moments from starc and Stoinis + Pakistan's delusional mindset means means they don't deserve it.

NZ is the strongest team of the tournament with India being the 2nd strongest and both countries happen to be rival nations for both my countries 😄😄.

NZ and India final would be a treat to watch.

NZ certainly are favourites this time . Well balanced as always but significantly more firepower in all departments.
 
BD anthem should be the instrumental (orchestra) one. This one sounds too India-ish. :inti

Gut punches for me as both NZ and India are rivals teams lol. I have no issues with NZ though, it's far more beautiful then aus as a country.

All Indian 11 for my team. Tmr it'll be a mix though as afg vs sa can go either way given sa recent form. Then again afg lost to a c string Pakistan in the warmups
 
Need to get Sarkar, the only guy who deserves a "he" pronoun in this team , out quickly. :inti
 
It's fun to hear Athar Ali Khan's voice. I still remember his meltdown and crying like a baby when Afghanistan thrashed Bangladesh during the last T20 World Cup. That was epic! :ROFLMAO:

Rana is average bowler with new ball. Arshdeep is not playing , big blunder by GG :kp
 
I hope Shami bhai leaves something for spinners. I want a nice partnership now.
 
Can't watch the game live but can someone tell me how Shami is bowling? Any sign of the injury?

Agreed, would have been good to have Arshdeep here. But I reckon they have calculated that the pitch may favour spinners under the lights.

I don't know why all the matches in Dubai, even the ones on sunday, have been made D/N. There is a huge difference in conditions between day and night in Dubai.

India is too strong at this moment and Bangladesh has been going through a big transition. Loss of Shakib and Tamim means a big hole in the line up . I don't have faith over their replacement. Shanto is seriously out of form . Mahmudullah omission makes no sense. A big loss coming up
 
Miraz has good numbers against India. He is basically bowling allrounder but they promote him at 4 just like Axar

I wouldn't write off any team just yet. Pakistan has shown that they are capable of bouncing back.
 
Just tuned in, turned on the telly to be hit by sledgehammer Sidhu on the hindi commentary, changed to Angrezi channel...:)
Surprised no Litton or Nahed Rana?...also Harshit for Arshdeep- i'd prefer Arsh here and Harshit's hit the deck style against Pak on sunday.
Surprising, to ssee empty seats in stadium...

Who would come to the stadium to watch the Bangladesh team? Even many Indian fans don’t prefer to.

Runup is good and rhythmic, defo better than Eng series, but i steill feel he is not going thru the crease like in 2023 WC, also just b4 release his other hand is not pulling into the action like he used to do, when he is about to reach the point of relaase, it is just limp (dunno if any to do with recent injuries) withthe effect that he is bowling a tad short and not the hard lengths of WC and hence the 4 odd boundaries against him..(or maybe he is protecting his back or something ...)

who knows maybe its a temporary phase and he rectifies this before 23rd....one thing is for sure -he is defo a better bowler under lights and also it does not look to be long before he is at his best...
 
Shami looks finished tbh. He got one wicket but that was mostly due to how poor Bangladesh is.

Tanzid is taking on the ageing Shami. He is much more circumspect with Rana. Most batsmen would do the same. India should really reconsider its policy of prioritising the seniors.
I really wish Yashaswi Jaiswal was playing in this tournament in place of Kohli.
