What's new

India [387/5] beat West Indies [280] by 107 runs in the 2nd ODI to level series 1-1

Our management is in a toxic relationship with trundlers, how on earth mediocre trundlers like Thakur still gets selected is beyond me.

Literally nobody misses that fat midget

Considering Raina is around 5'10" you must be at least 7 feet tall to call him a midget :murali

On a serious mote though, why so much hate for Raina? He may not be any ATG but served our cricket with utmost dedication, gave his all, won many memorable matches while Dhoni took the credit at the end.

This Trundler loving disease is slowly getting eradicated after Dhoni but it will take at least two generations to totally wipe it out. So many 145 KPH bowlers in domestics but we still give many chances to Trundlers.

These selectors are the most useless rubbish that get paid by the bcci and that is saying something given quality of some of these so called coaches we have. The day prasad and co get the boot will be a great day for Indian cricket.

I would gift wrap and put Raina's 2011 WC innings vs PAK on top of all the meaningless centuries scored by Kohli in ICC tournies. That's how impactful his innings was for India in winning the WC! Fat midget >>>> Athletic Kohli!

True. I am surprised how people forget his contribution in both the 2011 QF and SF. He came in when India was in a bit trouble against Aus and guided us through. Again, in the SF, without his contribution, we would have been closer to 240 and would have probably lost the game.

I also remember him celebrating his partner's fifty and hundreds as if it was his own. The guy was the best example of a team player.

windies desperately need darren bravo, classy batsman and much better than chase in limited overs
and andre russell should come back in place of pollard

this will make windies batting line up a lot more formidable

If the opposition had scored 387 and Imam was on 60 off 67 balls, hell would've broken loose here.

People should back their players.

Bravo is waay to slow for a modern batsmen plus it seems like he can only hit spinners.

Our new fielding coach for whom we passed on jonty rhodes must just sit and drink with shastri coz our fielding has just gone to ****. We cant catch a cold at the moment.

no , he has been a consistent scorer in t20s. not with a babar like t20 strike rate.
but acutally making 40 ball 80s, 20 ball fifties

he is one of windies main batsmen , the windies cricket board grudge against him has cost indies many matches

Pooran and Hetmyer are special talents. Been long since I saw such dynamites with so much potential! Wow... mouth watering prospects.

Ashwin is a much better limited overs bowler, Jadeja these days just darts blindly and hopes for the best. Atrocious bowling this is.

After seeing pants innings today I was like wow and now I saw pooran I’m like lost for words this guys power is insane

Jadeja's one fluke innings in WC against NZ is going to cost India many matches in the coming months! Can't wait to see Shreyas Gopal in the playing XI. He's the future!

Pooran was rated very highly by many long back. He is such a talent, This WI batting lineup can dominate any bowling lineup.

You can say whatever you want about thala Dhoni, but none comes closer when it comes to utilising the available resources and letting the opposition choke in these tight chases. May it be his field placements, or guiding the spinners from behind, he's just tooo freaking good! Miss his presence. The captain clueless today looks furious and has no plan B.

If West Indies can get one more batsmen like Hope in the middle order and Russell back. Their batting in limited overs would be the best.
Need to sort their bowling out though.

Damn it I jinxed him 200 off 20 overs against this attack with wickets in hand is a walk in the park had pooran stayed 5 more overs it was game over for India

You are right 100%. Our bowling and fielding looks utter clueless without Thala behind the stumps.

Breathtaking knock by Pooran. Has it ever happened two captains getting out first ball in a ODI match?

nothing more was expected off pollard.
no idea why he was brought back to the team, let alone being made captain.

bring back andre russeell in place of pollard

and even more cruccial is darren bravo back at the top order to bring the very needed stability to the windies batting.

Indian catching is getting worse by the day. Hope was dropped at 0. A dolly. Chahar dropped pooran at 22. Easier than the first one.

Match winning over by Mohammed Shami.

Don't see West Indies winning this now. Not much to come now

Only on spinning pitches Thala does well. On pattas Thala comes apart. I remember Srilanka once almost chased down 414 against us. they ended up with 411

Kuldeep is a gun bowler. You can hit him a six or two. But you take huge risk. Stumping missed now.

But how do you chase 387 without taking risks.

In these kind of pitches their big hitters can get on with it but their will be situations where they would need to bat with good temperament which they don't really have. Nevertheless still a destructive batting line up but just short by 1 batsmen in my opinion.

Back in 2000s we were terrified of Jayasuriya lol This WI line up has many of them. But Jayasuriya could attack while protecting his wicket

Is it why he was averaging 32 across his long career and those stats also boosted by heavy loads of runs against a mediocre Indian attack on flat SC wicketd.?

His roles changed over his career. Agarkar had his number though.

It is fast turning into a one sided match. APart from the 7 or 8 over onslaught WI didn't have much to celebrate.

Kuldeep is and will always be a champion bowler unlike the midget Chahal who turns clueless when the batsmen go after him!

Hattric for kuldeep .
Indian odi bowling should be
Jassi
Shami
Bhuvi
Hardik
Kuldeep
Jadeja / Chahal

2 tailenders and one shot out of desperation which almost went for six chahal is a bowler with a big headband he doesn’t cry after getting hit for a six you can enjoy it but it will cost you in the long run against Australia when they come her e

I want to bump few posts from first match thread
some posters on Kuldeep :)))
Some posters on Kohli about Chahal exclusion :)))

You missed typing Moin Ali's name but that's okay, I got used to your template.

First wicket - Brilliant Catch by Kohli
Second wicket - Brilliant stump by Pant
Third wicket - Brilliant catch by Jadav

Three different kind of wickets.. Kuldeep:bow:

Kuldeep back in form is a massive massive boost for our attack.

Bumrah
Shami/Bhuvi
Pandya
Kuli
Chahal

This should be our attack for the next t20 wc, hopefully no Jadeja, Dubey, Thakur, Chahar

So we are going to ignore the great bowling before the wickets and just focus on who he got out? Stop hating.

Lasith Malinga - 3 in 226 matches.
Kuldeep Yadav - 2 in 55 matches.
Saqlain Mushtaq - 2 in 169 matches.

•Kuldeep Yadav is the fastest to take 2 ODI hat tricks, also the first Indian to achieve this landmark.
