India has refused to collect the Asia Cup Trophy from Mohsin Naqvi

From 'Its all in social media' to 'its all in video' - we seemed to have come a long way :ROFLMAO:

Moshin Naqvi was standing and waiting in podium to hand over the trophy to India, a country he was mocking from his X account 2 days back but Indian players were calmly lying on the ground, chit chatting and completely ignoring him. So we all know who has humiliated whom.

Nevertheless, I feel Surya should have taken the trophy and then pushed Naqvi off podium like how Australian side did to Sharad Pawar. That would have felt better but Indian side decided to take the safer route.

Pakistan and Pakistanis like you will never forget 14 Sept, 21 Sept & 28 Sept...just like you will never forget 7th May.

#TrueStory

Where else did you expect him to stand? He would’ve been there regardless of whether Hong Kong or the UAE had won the final, it’s literally his job as ACC president. Stop twisting it like he was only there for India.

The real embarrassment was for India, who asked for the trophy to be handed over by someone other than a Pakistani. Their request was rejected, leaving them awkwardly hanging around and unable to properly celebrate the very trophy they were playing for.

The amount of trolling done by Indian players since yesterday is something never seen before. It's clear how annoyed they were with those gestures. Pakistan will never forget this humiliation.

:klopp :kp

Why don't BCCI kicks PcB from ICC and end this debate for once, but they greedy baniya knows they are earning $$$ by palying against Pakistan henceforth the hypocrisy

Except he was not there during Champions Trophy final presentation being PCB head and coted the excuse of stomach upset

Nothing tops Haris Rauf’s 6-0, Rafale crashing down, and Sahibzada’s gun celebration aimed at the Indian crowd. It rattled 1.4 billion Indians to the core. These little stunts by Indian players are just self-validation, trust me, not a single soul in Pakistan is bothered 🤣

Really shocking to see chief of a cricket board steal and siphon off trophies and medals.

But he's also a politician, so was just doing his job.:inti

I think he was desparate to have his Messi moment by hook or crook.

The entire Pakistan fanbase is suddenly preaching “sportsmanship,” but weren’t they laughing when Haris Rauf was showing those gesture , Praising Racist post of Pakistan player's ?

Match-fixer, umpire-fixer, always dragging religion into cricket, offering namaz on the field, pressuring non-Muslim players to convert, representing a dushman mulk… and now suddenly preaching sportsmanship?

Karma’s just serving the bill, keep crying, it’s music to our ears.

bhai you are smoking something really potent... honestly speaking we have already moved on and dont really care.
Just trying to help you understand that we are not obsessed with India as much India is obsessed with Pakistan for real.

Do I care what you think? I just stating the fact here whether you like it or not doesn't matter for me. :kp

I feel this whole Asia Cup should have been boycotted. If you want to play, then follow the rules. If you did not want to shake hands or collect the trophy in case you win, then don't even bother showing up in Dubai.

The victory of India has been overshadowed by brainless controversies. Blame should go on BJP government and BCCI. They thought people of India may have already forgotten Pahalgam. Can't blame them as Indians tend to have very short memory. But they miscalculated the response from Indian fans in boycotting the Asia Cup. Then they resorted to handshake drama and culminated it with the cup presentation fiasco.

India would gain nothing from this victory. It was expected of them to win this tournament. Had they lost, the backlash would have been severe. A lose-lose situation for the Players and Coach.

Basically a totally forgettable experience.

Speaking to an Indian news channel, Kapil Dev said:

"Shaking hands is not a big thing. You didn't shake hands; it does not matter. You have also announced that you don't want to take the trophy from that man. That's also fine."

"But you can't linger on for this type of thing. You have to finish, you have to move on. Let the government do that job, let the politician do that job."

"I just want to say — your responsibility, and responsibility for the entire media, also we should look into the sports side rather than looking into the politics side."

"Yes, the media has the responsibility to bring everything to the table, but as a sportsman, I would like to see that we stick to sports. It will be much better,"

During a TV show former Pakistan player Kamran Akmal has said that PCB should announce immediately that they will never play against India:

“Pakistan board should immediately say that ‘we should never play against India’. Let’s see what action ICC takes. What else evidence do you need after this? But the BCCI person is leading the ICC – how will he [Jay Shah] take any action? The other boards have to come together, say we can’t see this in cricket. Sports is not played at anyone’s home. If others don’t play them, then no money is going to come,”

“The earlier these things can be controlled, the better for everybody. A neutral body has to be formed without Pakistan and India, make a committee of Australian, South African, New Zealand and let them decide on what action to be taken about all that has happened in this tournament,”

“These cheap harkatein (behaviour) we shall keep seeing from India. We have seen in this tournament they have done as much damage to cricket as they could. PCB and ACC president took the right stand – take the trophy or not, it will be given by the president only. India will become the joke of the cricketing world.”

Akmal urged other cricketing boards to come together and take a stand. “Just because you are the richest board in the world you can’t do this ‘badmashi’. Cricket can’t be run like this. There are other sports in the world , we don’t see such stuff. All the neutral boards should come together. You have to lobby for these issues … We have to see what the cricketing legends of the past, from ours, theirs, the rest of the world, who sit in the commentary box etc.. will they give a statement on this? On how to stop all this,”

Would have preferred India looking Naqvi in the eye and getting the winner’s trophy from him. I mean yeah, Naqvi is their interior minister too but him being forced to hand over the trophy to India would have been embarrassing enough for him.

So Whenz the 'Saazish' party starting?

From Hardik ne kaala jadoo kiay, to Toss not showin on camera to the top of the pops "the Baall mein chip hai,"- Circa 2023 WC,

from Shabbir ahamd - india used vaseline - 5th test @ the Oval, Inzi bhai - ball tampering - Champions trophy,

to the the next level :

- India won because of the T20 WC2024 Scheduling and the CT 2025 scheduling otherwise how could their team of absolute no hoper bunch of pooftah's can even imagine to get close to any trophy? (speakin of which....:) )

-------------------------------and then the Creme-a-la-Creme - drum roll -----------------------------

"India ne Baees Pundit bithaye ground mein, 2 each for each player" diamond ilm ka explosion....!

- Whats the dope around Asia Cup - 2025

- Maybe 'toss waala coin mein chip hai' - considering we've lost a gadzilliion tosses in the past - surya managed to win some here including the finals? :)

or even the generic rinse repeat on loop 24/7/365 BCCI>>ICC and all umpires, matchrefrees, groundsmen, pitch roller, sightscreen operators, floodlight angle changes, DRS, TV crew, liftman, team bus driver, concierge, breakfast-lunch-dinner caterers, everyone and their khalu-jaan were all bank rolled by BCCI?

- Am disappointed so far with the efforts of the more 'fertile' brains on this - or hopefully can i say 'Watch this space' ???!!!

Mohsin Naqvi Forced To Congratulate India For Asia Cup Win: Sources

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday registered its protest in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting about chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s actions at the 2025 Asia Cup final in Dubai. CNN-News18 has learned that board members made sure that Naqvi said congratulations to India for winning the title.

India was represented by BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla and former board treasurer Ashish Shelar, who are both members of the ACC board, at the meeting. Together, they demanded that Naqvi immediately submit the Asia Cup trophy to the ACC headquarters in Dubai, while informing the Pakistani side that they are willing to escalate the issue to the Inte

While Shukla is the Executive Board Member for BCCI on the ACC Board, Shelar serves as the BCCI’s Ex-Officio Board Member. It has also been learned that in protest of the ACC chief, Shelar boycotted the meeting midway through.

As reported by this website on Monday, India believes that Naqvi has taken ‘personal possession’ of the Asia Cup trophy after leaving with it midway through the post-match presentation ceremony at the final.

At the event, the Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian side, who beat rivals Pakistan by five wickets, had stood their ground, saying that they didn’t want to receive their hard-earned trophy from Naqvi, who’s the interior minister of Pakistan and notorious for his anti-India stance and vile social media posts.

Naqvi, serving both as ACC chief and Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, insisted he alone would hand over the silverware. India, firmly supported by the BCCI, suggested alternatives such as Emirates Cricket Board president Khalid Al Zarooni or Bangladesh’s Aminul Islam. But Naqvi remained unmoved, rejecting all compromise.

What followed was without precedent — Naqvi and ACC officials left the stage with the trophy still in their possession. The Indian team, undeterred, staged their own celebration, raising imaginary trophies and coffee mugs in front of jubilant supporters and on social media posts.

Other reports have claimed that Naqvi is open to transferring India’s trophy and medals but wants an ‘official function’ to be organised for it first.

Wait for some more time Naqvi will surrender infront of BCCI.

Anyway his countdown of suspension from ACC chairman Post is already started. November will be his last month

:klopp :kp

Wait I thought Naqvi Saab humiliated Indian team. While I do feel he has reasons to be angry , the quality of a shrewd politician is to read the room if things are in your favor or not. Seems like acted like a social media warrior than a seasoned politician and got carried away. He put himself in that situation to be honest.

Looks like Naqvi is gonna solve his country’s balance of payment crisis by selling those trophy and medals.

Not that I am a fan of what Surya did, this guy has taken the buffoonery to another level. That trophy is not his father’s personal property - that is an ACC trophy & ultimately goes to the winner & no matter what Naqvi does that can’t change. Hence insisting on a ceremony to give a trophy when he doesn’t even want to congratulate the Indian players, how does that even make sense?

he is not a politician , Neither an elected Minister. He is bufoon appointed by Munir or rather imposed on us. Dude thinks he is centre of gravity lol

Surya Should have Swallowed the pride and recieved the trophy from Acc president , there was no need for that drama. However if Surya decided to be class less actor , Naqvi Should have relented . clowns on both sides

From Boycott to now running around East and West for the trophy.

Naqvi gave a good learn

Naqvi and Asim Munir have handled India like bosses. From Operation Tandoor till Asia Cup 2025.

They owned India pretty much.

Indian meltdown has been comical.

This drama should not have happened in the first place, but now that it has, India should let Naqvi keep the trophy with India’s name on it. Kya hi farak padta hai - we have 8 others & a lack of trophy does not negate our win. Ultimately, Naqvi will be out one day as ACC president & the trophy will come back - but absolutely no need to talk to that desperate chor.

Never have I seen a bunch of more shameless fans before. Lost 3 matches in a single tournament that too against their arch rivals. And yet they are celebrating because their PCB Chief somehow managed to steal the trophy.

The PCB Chief is the ACC Chairman. Protocol and the ACC constitution states that the winning team is bound to receive the medals and trophy from the ACC Chairman who is a Pakistani. Disrespecting the ACC Chairman is disrespecting the nation of Pakistan.

Does it really say that in the constitution or it’s just Naqvi playing macho ?

Who was the ACC chairman in 2022? Who gave the trophy to Lankan team after winning the Asia Cup ? :kp

Agreed. We should've never started this drama in the first place but now that we're here, it's pointless to continue. The only value of this trophy is the first hour after you get it. It's not like it's a World Cup that we were going to parade.

Just issue a sarcastic statement congratulating Naqvi on bravely fighting for and winning the trophy and move on with life. Anything further would only look (more) childish.

Bingo!

Wait, the trophy is still not with India? You can't make these stuffs up ... What happend was unfortunate but Naqvi is just damaging Pakistan's image at this point. No one should support this. Give the trophy and move on.

Its just a trophy. ACC will make another one and give it to India.

Does the Constitution also state that in case the team refuse to accept the trophy from the chairman, he can run away with it and the medals to his house?

Why? India should've picked it up from the ACC chairman.

India was the one who made this complicated. :inti

India should get it from ACC chairman. If they don't want to do that, trophy can stay with Naqvi I guess. :qdkcheeky

Entire Pakistan is full of theatrics and glory-hunting.
All Rauf had to do was stick to bowling wide outside off—he nailed five in a row. But the glory hunter in him wanted that picture-perfect stump-smash. What happened? Deposited for six. A good over turned into a disaster.
Similarly, all Naqvi had to do after being schooled by Pycroft was quietly exit once India sealed the win and at least save some grace. But no, he had to create more drama. Now he’ll likely be shown the door and face the wrath of the BCCICC.

Agree with the bolded part.

If India keep on controlling things in cricket, we are likely to see more and more paindoo dramas.

Cricket's control needs to return to England. They invented the sport including all the formats. They should be in charge of it. :inti

A common mistake Pakistani administrators make is to assume that the way they run PCB or their internal politics is how they can run an outside organization.

Makes total sense from their perspective, as these theatrics is what got them to their current status. Sadly, the world outside Pakistan only brings them embarrassment when they keep this on. Nazam Sethi, Ramiz Raja and now Naqvi, they are all struggling to realise that even their fiercest roars are nothing more than a meow in a world outside Pakistan.

Too bad they didn't trade mark it. :dw

English counties are bending down for IPL owners to take them over because they know who calls the shot in Cricket and what the future is going to be. :srini

Oh absolutely, Naqvi should definitely keep it. He totally deserves to see a trophy everyday with India’s name on it and thinking this is the closest he will ever come to get a cricket trophy under his presidency after watching that 3-0 defeat….

Why? India should've picked it up from the ACC chairman.

Sure, I agree with you. But why is he keeping the trophy with him for? This is not about he did this, I did that. India won, give the trophy and move on. He looks like a ***** now and dragging this on for no reason at this point.

In his mind, "Shuru unhone Kiya, khatam hum karenge" script is playing very strongly, and he probably sees this as an act of defiance against the enemy.

I think where a lot of Bhartiyas and Pakistanis have gone wrong in this Asia Cup is believing that any act of niceness somehow shows weakness and goes against their national chest-thumping narrative. It's all ego-driven politics, nothing else. Story of entire South Asia, I am sorry to say.

The message coming from India shows how easily they lie and fool their public, without even care their lies will be easily debunked and rebuked. This is why nothing should be bieved about the terrosits attack claims or their attacks on Pakistan.
They know the population is dumb so they can get away with anything. I have never seen a more stupid demographic than these bunch of losers to be honest.

Not in the ground during the match. Its a proud moment of you do it certain place. :kp
You pray when it's time to pray and you can be anywhere. if it is inconvenient and takes longer for him to leave the ground then he should pray on the field. Why would anyone get triggered by his 3 mins prayer?

There is hardly any Pakistani player who says cricket as hard as Rizwan,, please stop pretending he leaves in the middle of the match from the field to pray. He does so in between break sessions, no matter he is a professional cricketer praying namaaz as soon as he is able to is his first obligation and no one can change that.
