India lead by 58 runs at stumps after bowling South Africa out for 229 on Day 2 at the Wanderers

Anything short of a 100 by Pujara here should signal the end of his career.
 
That was pretty cheap by the South African fielders. What has Rahul done to them?

Rahul gone as no conclusive evidence to overturns soft signal . India will be all out for 150 .
 
Another day, another time that would have been given not out for lack of clarity. The benefit of doubt has to go to the batsman.

About Pujara and Rahane - always when fans want a player to fail so he can be kicked out, the player plays a decent knock to retain the spot and torture fans for another series. I am sure one of Rahane-Pujara will score some useful 40 runs.

Not sure what KL Rahul was complaining about.. That looked out and no conclusive evidence to overturn the decision..

South Africa had a full quota of the bowling available to them in the first innings. India virtually had 3 bowlers, with siraj down, and Ashwin ineffective.
 
The best batsman in the series is gone. SA should feel confident here. Rahul is the only one who has looked good in the series so far. It may be very hard for India to get 200 runs lead here with Rahul gone.
 
175 - lead here and India will win.

Whether they can get to that lead we shall see.

I don't think any device or technology called zoomer needed for that.
All they had to do was zoom the actual video in slow motion. Like we do in our computer or mobile.

Nah, they have only two front-line Bowler here for this surface. Yeah, I know Thakur took a bagful, but he is still not front line. 175, with Siraj, not bowling, I will feel SA should get it.

Jansen is a great find for SA. With Lungi he makes a potent pair which can trouble any batting lineup.

250 is an easy win. no team is chasing 200+ in these conditions in SA. Plus SA batting has already crumbled 3 times in this series. Indias seamers and ashwin won defend 200+ easily.

LOL As of now based on past few innings...if Rahane and pujara score combined 60.... its probably a unexpected contribution... especially since Rahul is out....
For that matter 30ish score by by pant, thakur, vihari as well should setup an exciting finish to this test
 
Thakur's 7-for in this test is akin to Lance Klusener taking 8-for in his debut test at Eden Gardens in '96.

Both came out of nowhere.

SA is in the game here with both openers gone. A couple of walking wickets to follow. India has scored some runs mainly due to openers.

If they fail then it's 1-1 and we're potentially throwing away our best chance of winning in South Africa.

So no, not a good time. We need both of them to fire.

On the plus side, they're pros at making those career saving 55s. It's what has given them such a long rope so far.
 
South African bowling is still very good, they have not declined...
 
Batsmen need to be positive here, just blocking and you will end up with a delivery with your name on it.

Agree...Take chances...a 30ish score from each of remining 5 batters will setup 150 plus score....a competitive one on this track...then its upto bolwers if they show up or dont
 
Good attitude from the pair. The only way is to counter attack. It's not like if they survive the day they will get a free lunch tomorrow from SA bowlers.

Not at all.
I want both of them to score well in this inning.
Don't want India to miss opportunity of winning series in SA.

They are under scanner and can fail another day to be thrown out of team.
 
C'mon Puajra, find your inner character and tire the hell out of SA bowlers. Don't have high hopes for Rahane though.

Instead of tiring, scoring runs will hurt SA more.
 
So far runs coming at a good clip. This is the right strategy here, there is just too much time remaining in the test to bat session after session.

210 to 240 - anyone game
255 above - india favourite to win

This pitch isn't helpful for blocking. Either keep scoring or get out. Variable bounce means there's no chance of settling down
 
That's how Pujara used to bat in his pomp, used to be a busy batsman. He wasn't block, block and block. No wonder he has forgotten to score runs.
 
Absolutely, scoring runs is the only way to upset the rhythm of bowlers
 
Indian Test Team is so good that even their weakest links (Pujara/Rahane) also come to party at times when needed! Kohli might not have done much with the bat for few years, but his captaincy & aggression has also helped...
