Out of luck.

What an ordinary batsmen lol.

This guy was scoring runs for fun in India against WI right?

HE survived the entire first session. That is his for his first tour. We all saw how ordinary NZ was in Australia where Agarwal played much better.

Pathetic shot. That should have been put beyond the boundary. A nothing pull shot off a terrible ball.

Just a bit sloppy from Agarwal. Boult got just a tad more bounce than Agarwal is used to & there is just a tad more bounce (as Jamiseon has shown) in the wicket here than India. Can't get away with that in SENA, you need to consciously pull the ball down or play a forceful shot. That was a little flipper pull.

HE did better against Australia at the boxing day test on his debut than any of the NZ batsmen. You completely ignore the overly bowler friendly condition.

You're 90/4 and we haven't even bowled well.

Mediocre stuff from Agarwal after getting a start

Brain fade moment for agarwal...just saw the line up. Ashwin in the playing 11 ? just when I think Kohli gets almost everything right, this is one selection I don't think India will take benefit of. Jadeja should be playing ahead of ashwin outside SC. Even getting ashwin to NZ is waste of plane tickets.

Only 1 real wicket taking ball and India gifted 4 wickets. Terrible display so far.

Agarwal and Kohli should hang their heads in shame.

It's a nice breezy day, a real green pitch & bit of cloud. Perfect NZ home conditions.

No need to go overboard criticising the Indian batsman for losing 4 wickets in that conditions- really any team could be in the same spot. It's not a day you get to lunch one down & score 4 or 5-320 at stumps. It's just not that day, everything is in the bowlers favour. There WILL be regular wickets. I'd say 230 or less is bowlers day, 250/260 is honours even. If India get 270+ they have done very, very well.

If you won't bowl first on this day, will Kohli ever bowl first?

Jadeja is not good either. He sucked last time when we played him ahead of Ashwin in NZ This was when Jadeja was better. Now he has gone worse.

Obviously the ball will not seam as much as it does in NZ, but if India bat this loose in Aus, a white wash is on the cards.

In other conditions like Australia you bat first. Only in NZ we have this issue. Batting is at its best on day 5.

2014 version of jadeja was a player giving returns after 5 years of long rope. 2020 jadeja is better I believe. And if I remember it right, still cannot forget ashwin could not take 1 or 2 wickets in Eng tour in one of the matches India could've won.

You are never in on day 1 pitch in NZ. You could collapse anytime. But it gets better and better as the match goes on.

I have more confidence in our bowlers than our batsman. Only Shami, Ishant and Bumrah can win us this series. :inti

If Boult and Jamieson can get it together we can get India for under 150 here.

Kumar would've wreaked havoc on NZ batsmen if India were bowling first. As such, the ground seems to suit his bowling style. Anyway, India got their fast bowling department alright. It is upto the batsmen to give something for the bowlers to defend.

Ishant sharma is an inswing specialist. Hope he gets it right. Last time he took 17 wickets in 2 tests with a 6 for 51.

Fair call. Day 5 is challenging on most NZ wickets- it will go up & down in bounce. It will turn a bit. Good, fair chance of all 3 results generally, depending who plays well.

Indians will be operating at 140k to 145k atleast couple of them. Last time India dropped several dollies. But for that INdia would have won the series.

Wasn't Kohli out on day 5 and saved India from 0-2?

You had to bat to save the Test, you lost a couple early and Kohli had nicked it but wasn't given.

Kohli dropped a sitter when Baz was at 9. He made 303. India wasn't in any trouble.

Hope this is a other 2 session green top and we knock India over by the end of this session and score 400-500 in the second on a good surface.

My prediction.

Ind 1st inn - 160 all out
NZ 1st inn - 335 all out
Ind 2nd inn - 130 all out

Vihari should have been there at home season but it's good to see him back.

He would have been fodder for 1.5 innings.

Jamieson is going to be quite an asset going forward.

Good bowler who can bat :imran

I said if we win the toss india will win vs any team. I never said india at favrouties if they lose the toss.

But the Number 1 team shouldn't worry about tosses and carry on crushing oppositions. Anyway this is nothing new for me. Have been watching them play like this in NZ for many years. :inti

That was a good ball. This guy is 6'8", that's never easy to face.

I always think tall guys get robbed by the speed gun- the ball is actually travelling a further distance over the time of the speed reading due to the steeper angle. So it might be going fast & produce the "heavy" ball but it's not going to be registered at a speed of a guy with a lower, straighter trajectory.
