'India run cricket, players have no power right now': Chris Gayle

England lost to Ireland too in 2022 lol White ball giants. THey win in certain conditoins. Absolute roads where they can unleash their big hittes. Any slight help they are toast like they did against Afghanistan at Delhi. They looked like minnows on that day.

Superior team won't finish 7th coming in as favorite lol Come on they won on boundaries at home. THey shortened they boundaries to 56 meter when they played India because if they had lost to India they would be out. Heck they even lost to Pakistan. A dodgy win. 2021 kicked out miserably. You gotta be consistent to be called "white ball giants" like australia in 2000s.

“They won on boundaries”

Yes they did, but no one asked NZ to score less boundaries. The rule was applicable for both teams.

Also, let’s not forget that they were down and out at one point in the final before a clutch partnership between Stokes and Buttler revived them. What do Indian players do in similar situations in knockouts? They choke and they lose.

“They shortened boundaries vs India”

Boohoo. If the boundaries were shortened, they were shortened for both teams. Who asked your superstar GOATs to get out-scored on 56m boundaries? What stopped them apart from their own incompetence?

England just shortened boundaries in their home World Cup. India went well beyond that to orchestrate the 2023 World Cup in their favor.

BCCI took full control of the schedule, the venues and the pitches and yet, India couldn’t win.

England in 2019 nearly got out because they played Sri Lanka on a sluggish pitch that clearly didn’t suit them.

“They win in certain conditions”

Ok, but I would take that over not being able to win in ANY conditions like India.

“They need to be consistent like Australia or 2000s to be considered while ball giants”

If they win this World Cup, they won’t just be white ball giants; they will be white ball gargantuans because 3 WC wins in 5 years is incredible.

They will not be that far off Australia in 2000s who 3 WCs in 8 years but to d not like they won ever tournament - they failed to win 3 consecutive CTs in 2000, 2002 and 2004 when they were at their peak.

West Indies won world T20 in 2012 and 2016. More than othrs. So Windies > Australia and everyone. You need to be dominant. Australia did not drop a single game for 34 matches in world cup history. That is called domination. Not what England did at home on flat roads negating all the spinners as that is their only weakness. Moment they were exposed to spin they were like a fish out of water. Sorry dude. Sure they had their moments. They are not dominant. They blew hot and cold according to conditions. Now that Australia is eliminated they can have a free ride in this world cup.

England still runs cricket.

Otherwise the world test championship finals would be held in India. :afridi
Only reason it's in England is because no one else wants it. This includes the ICC!

You didn't get it. Why should there be no international cricket during the IPL? If the IPL gets an official window, other leagues will also demand the same. Who gives an official window to domestic tournaments anyway? :inti
Its not a domestic tournament. You already chose the right word previously in your post. Its an annual festival. That's why it requires an official window.

The other leagues also should demand the same. Its their right too.

A team that relies on imports from Ireland, South Africa and West Indies. Come back when they can actually field an English team on their own.

Chris Gayle has another intention, hez saying player have no power right now. He wants the players should have their rights. Gayle wants to form players Union and become President of that Union

Winning two World T20s in 4 years is not comparing to winning an ODI World Cup + two T20 World Cups in 5 years + sustaining several years as number one ranked ODI and T20I team.

Your attempts to downplay the legacy of England in white ball cricket (if they win a third World Cup in 5 years) as anything but legendary is absolutely hilarious.

I know it is painful to accept that current generation of England players are far more successful and clutch than current generation of Indian players in white ball cricket in spite of all the influence of BCCI, but it is what it is.

That's what I thought.

Hard to judge the tone based on a transcript but it sounds like he has bigged up the IPL rather than bashed it.
He is a rambling lunatic who is self absorbed. He had a few bright moments in his career, but for all other purposes he is just another stain on the reputation of West Indian cricket.

You are hyping a team that finished 7th out of 10th lol What legacy they have? They got thrashe din 2015, won in 2019 by sixes got thrashed against 2023. What legacy you are talking about. They got thrashed in 2016, 2021 in WT20. Won in 2022. Where is the domination here. They even lost to Ireland in 2022. A champion team get whopped by Ireland? really?

Let me repeat it slowly. Hopefully this time it will sink in.

Winning three World Cups in five years would be an amazing achievement and will cement their legacy as one of the greatest white ball teams ever.

They already wipe the floor with the current generation of Indian cricketers in white ball who have won 0 World Cups in the same period.

Your denial won’t change the reality though. It won’t remove the World Cups from England in the last 5 years and neither would it remove the 0 from India’s.

The trophy cabinet in ECB must be running out of space. Perhaps they should rent BCCI’s that has been catching dust since 2013.

England is a first world, multicultural country where people from other countries come in to better their lives. Third world subcontinent countries cannot relate to this experience.

This is not about the England team. Should not derail the thread by talking about them

Maybe the best solution for the Pakistan team given the current climate.
Sack the lot,
New team
New captain
New contracts
No power

But does anyone really care about t20 world cups?
Odi world cups is what matters most.

But yes england have better t20 legacy than India.

India have lot of talent but they keep picking old washed up old farts like kohli jadeja etc and rohit regardless of his performance vs Aussies when guys like jaiswal abishek parag etc are on bench.

Even the bowling has much better players than this useless arshdeep.

England , although have been a great white ball team and are innovative, when they lose they are sore losers. And they don't like to learn from it. When the tracks are flat and do not aid spin they are champs and this world cup they were exposed.
Australia is a better team overall and are better suited for all conditions(probably the best).
