Ok so Lee is not threatening in India even when he slows down to bowl line and length, he isnt threatening even when he is bowling a bit quicker, so whats his real deal then?

And what about:
- dale steyn
- shane bond
- shaun tait
Random Aussie said:Psst he averages 30 with the ball. He is not that good.
Because of his speed and the timing of his career Lee is always comparable to Shoaib for you Savak but the fact is that Lee is not and has never been a bowler of that class.
Has had a brilliant 18 months where he averages about 22 per wicket but maybe that run of form has ended. We Aussie fans have spent the best part of a decade watching him bowl pies and celebrate when he dismisses no 11 batsman and the last 18 months scratching our heads wondering where this bowler has been for his career.
I am sure he is trying his heart out and bowling as fast as he can.
Random Aussie said:Steyn is not express he is mid 140's. If Steyn is express then so is Peter Siddle and Mitchell Johnson.
Bond no longer plays international cricket.
Tait maybe but probably will never play Test cricket again.
We all just wait for the new Pakistan one really.

no surprise to me, i've said in the past johnson is consistantly quicker than lee now, in fact he's consistantly the quickest bowler aroundSavak said:I find it really strange that Johnson has once again bowled much faster than Lee in this test match as well. He has been rewarded with 3 wickets as well.
Steyn used to be 90mph+ bowler, maybe he is in a little dipRandom Aussie said:Steyn is not express he is mid 140's. If Steyn is express then so is Peter Siddle and Mitchell Johnson.

The problem with both Brett Lee and MJ is that they dont look feary. they look vanilla. For eg. even though Mcgrath was way slower than these two he had that a55hole look about him. As a fast bowler you should have that little cunningness. I am just comparing the newer generation of Aussie bowlers with the older one.lollol said:Steyn used to be 90mph+ bowler, maybe he is in a little dip
And btw, i do consider Johnson as a genuine quick bowler actually. He has the attitude of a quick bowler and bowls like one. And his action is one of the best ive seen in recent times. And not to forget, he bowled around or just below 90mph.
But he still is listed as lfm on cricinfo, whereas other bowlers like Sharma are listed as rf.. i think its only a matter of time, before he is considered a lf bowler
maybe they need to have their face altered to look like ******** lolbones20 said:The problem with both Brett Lee and MJ is that they dont look feary. they look vanilla. MJ looks too sweet. When he gets hits for runs he thinks like a student rather than looking like an animal. When he gets wickets, he looks like a kid surprised by christmas presents rather than the sounding the cry of a victor. I would rate the body language of Indian bowlers more than MJ and mind you I am no fan of Indian pace bowlers.Random Aussie said:Yaar they just don't look mean enough. And they don't look angry when they get hit for runs.
Yes, he is one lucky b******Romali_rotti said:It's hard to say what type of wicket this is, till we see Aussies bat. I hope our captian is upto the task and score a few runs and take our total past 450...Also should Dhoni win this test match for us I think Kumble's stint as Captian is OVER!!!!!..I have a good feeling about this with Dhoni leading the side...
BTW, what do you make of the match now? India are slightly ahead so far but not irreversibly. Plus the pitch looks a beauty and I have a feeling that the Australians will enjoy batting on it more than the Indians did. Allan Border was mentioning that its like the MCGRandom Aussie said:Yaar they just don't look mean enough. And they don't look angry when they get hit for runs.

He seems like a good company but not a hot blooded sportsman.

Random Aussie said:Yep agree. But hopefully a snarl will come with increased confidence.
At the moment when the Aussie pacers get hit for four the mental sentence they give is "Oh ^%& I bowled a bad ball and got punished" whereas it should be "How dare you hit me for 4?"
McGrath got collared many times by batsman but I very rarely, if ever, saw him mentally concede to them.

I am an OZ native, living in Melbourne town. Going well here, weather getting nice and cricket is on![]()

At 0:45 that half volley driven for 4, I dont think I have ever seen a better looking shot from any batsmen....
Savak said:I always knew this is what would happen to the Australian attack the moment Mcgrath and Warne retired. I knew the likes of Lee, Johnson, Tait e.t.c might have the ability to take wickets but they will also never be as economical as Mcgrath. A large part of the pressure Mcgrath used to put on the opposition batters was that he used to dry runs up and that resulted in wickets. At the moment Stuart Clarke is the only bowler in the Aussie line up who can be relied upon to keep the runs down. Warne was a huge loss to, its as if he was the last spinner in Australia.
Absolutely pathetic. Australians want to waste as much time as possible in the match to avoid defeatindia_fan said:Pathetic over rate by the Aussies. Indian batsmen and especially Ishant were denied 5 valuable overs for the day. Ishant was in desperate need of some batting practice (for him to be able to negate the bowling tomorrow morning), but the crook ponting is he asked his troopers to take their time while bowling each and every delivery. Moreover, Ganguly was made to wait while he was at the crease

Random Aussie said:Who was out to Glenn McGrath in the first over of a World Cup final?
Edit - I don't mean he never lost his composure Romali, he lost it a fair bit. I just mean he never mentally conceded to a batsman in the way some of the Aussie bowlers do at the moment.

2 Test series, 2 Test series wins.
Savak said:Its always difficult to beat Australia in Australia no matter which Australian side is playing but i think slowly and surely that front just might not be so invulnerable anymore. I think Australia might struggle outside Australia. Like Ricky Ponting said himself "The days of crushing victories are long finished now, now we will be grinding for victories".
