India v Australia, 2nd Test 17/10/08 Mohali

Seriously. Australia's only hope is to limit the damage till 30 overs and then hope for reverse swing.

Unless that happens. Very poor stroke from Sehwag.

All of a sudden this wicket now looks like Perth with dravid arriving.

Johnson to Dravid, no run, solid in defence this time, he gets behind the line to a good length delivery :D

Thankfully Sehwag got out

If you want to kill Afridi, make him watch dravid for 2 hours. He will die of excessive swearing.

Even soldiers fighting in Iraq wont be so scared of life so much as our brave dravid

This Johnson guy is bowling really fast.He has clocked 149.6 and has been in that range today.IMO he is the fastest bowler in the world at the moment

Australia would have murdered us had they batted first unless ofcourse for katich :D

Well Savak, Lee has been bowling 90 +mph, so has MJ.

Siddle is bowling up to 87mph.

And we are getting smashed all over the field. Your argument not looking so good right now.

Look at the bigger picture, first of all its a first day wicket, lets wait till the ball starts reversing. And in India you should expect to be hit around due to the placid nature of the wickets. Patience, persistence and guts are the order of the day. Bowling at 82-85 mph was not going to guarantee success either.

Did you see that appeal RA?

No I am not watching it yet, only have a stream at home.

Cricindia not impressed no surprise from the biased hacks. Seriously their bias is getting ridiculous, am starting to not bother with their comms at all.

But Lee has been appealing for stupid appeals a lot lately.

RA not impressed with Brett "I am really happy with the way I am bowling" Lee as he goes for another 8 off that over.

Zaheer & Sharma wud have bowled much better than the Aus trio !
Seriously speaking I doubt. the wicket looks flawless. Hayden and ponting would hammer our bowlers

He is starting to step up MJ, great to see.

Cos Lee is bowling pies like he used to.

Even Dravid hitting Lee for four now.

Was wondering when this would happen with Lee, his form was too good to be true.

What has Lee's fastest ball been today? And what is he averaging?

You seem to be fascinated by a bowlers speed, LOL.

Yep i am a fan of express speed. But i also believe Lee's best chance on Indian wickets will be if he bowls flat out.

What would you prefer, an artist like Akram at his prime swinging the ball left and right creating hell for batsmen, or Akhtar at his prime at express speed scaring the **** out of the batsmen ?

Lee's fastest from what I saw was around 149 k's. Avg speed was closer to 142 k's.

Mitch was the quickest. His fastest was around 150 k's with an Avg speed around 145 k's.

Punjab's pitch is probably the fastest in India in terms of assisting the pace bowlers.... Good to see some decent speeds in this game.

He has bowled flat out as far as we can tell. Lee is not always able to bowl 155kph. He has gone for 6 an over.

Is it my imagination or is the Aussie over rate pathetic at the moment?

Yep 25 overs in a session = pathetic.

India's was pretty bad in the last game too.

But nothing will be done about it.

Considering India were 0/70 or something off the first 15, 1/104 at lunch is much better.

Need to keep Dravid batting till the run rate is below 3 :D

And Hayden to run Krapich out in the 2nd over when we bat.

Oh by the way, I dont like this Km business to measure the speeds, I love seeing the speeds in miles per hour. Mitchell's fastest was 93.00mph. Thats only 7mph away from 100mph... Simply superb, good thing about him I like is that he hardly looks like putting much effort into it like Akhtar and Lee who come charging in and so on. Especially Akhtar when he use to run frmo the rope.... This mitchell is something and also the new guy has decent pace for them...

You know the funny thing is, I was hoping Ghambir runs out Dravid when Dravid came in. I knew he would bring the run rate back to the usual level of tests. I mean you have guys like Sehwag who go out all guns blazing by risking their wicket on every ball, then you have slow wall of India.

Yeah it just seems to defeat the purpose of having 2 quick scoring openers if you are not going to build on that momentum at all.

Absolutely, shows the intelligence level of our skipper. Obviously not pointing to Dhoni for this match.

You know this is exactly why Dravid was'nt successful as a skipper. Aggression and creative ideas makes a top captain.

Both are really pleasing to watch. But both will use what is best for them.

To be fair, these are their rates since Dravid came in:

Dravid: 16 (35) S/R= 45.71

Gambhir: 27 (65) S/R= 41.53

Aussies are not their usual self at all! They usually bowm on 5th stump outside off. here they are, bowling almost everything on the stumps full length. I cant think of anything except match fixing or occasional lapse from the aussie.

I tell you match fixing is a routine in subcontinent. believe it or not. Sachin tendulkar's wedding which was supposedly a close affair, had 22 bookie guests. You need to visit the beauty parlours less often nancy.

Australia have bowled poorly and with out discapline and india have punished them here!

Yep. Bit of the worry when the guy doing most of the bowling is debutant.

And Watson has bowled more overs than MJ and Lee

Match fixing? In today's world? Especially when players from Australia, England and India are top earners? Okkkkkkkkkkkkkk then.

Oh I cant stand this Sunil Gavaskar. Anyone heard some dumb comments by him earlier regarding the toss with an Indian coin? Guy talks out of his back side.

RA,

The Aussie attack apart from MJ looks toothless at moment. Lee should be trying to ruffle a few feathers which he isnt and if Aus dont get early wickets then they are in trouble!

What was wrong before? There was no less money involved before. anyways, "masses" like to believe. If you are in US, I am sure you believed the Bernankes, paulson and bush.

Yep, going to be a long couple of days :(

There is very little margin for error on this pitch, especially when all our bowlers are used to bowling Australian length not the Indian length.

haha glad not to be from US cuz the politicians there also talk from behind like our beloved Gavaskar.

Indias plan will be to get runs on board so that they can have men around bat later for spinners and mishra for Kumble looks like a god move for india!

A serious mistake, as condom makers found out recently.

Condoms 'too big' for Indian men
By Damian Grammaticus
BBC News, Delhi

A survey of more than 1,000 men in India has concluded that condoms made according to international sizes are too large for a majority of Indian men.

The study found that more than half of the men measured had penises that were shorter than international standards for condoms.

It has led to a call for condoms of mixed sizes to be made more widely available in India.

The two-year study was carried out by the Indian Council of Medical Research.

Over 1,200 volunteers from the length and breadth of the country had their penises measured precisely, down to the last millimetre.

The scientists even checked their sample was representative of India as a whole in terms of class, religion and urban and rural dwellers.

The conclusion of all this scientific endeavour is that about 60% of Indian men have penises which are between three and five centimetres shorter than international standards used in condom manufacture.

Doctor Chander Puri, a specialist in reproductive health at the Indian Council of Medical Research, told the BBC there was an obvious need in India for custom-made condoms, as most of those currently on sale are too large.

The issue is serious because about one in every five times a condom is used in India it either falls off or tears, an extremely high failure rate.

And the country already has the highest number of HIV infections of any nation.

'Not a problem'

Mr Puri said that since Indians would be embarrassed about going to a chemist to ask for smaller condoms there should be vending machines dispensing different sizes all around the country.

"Smaller condoms are on sale in India. But there is a lack of awareness that different sizes are available. There is anxiety talking about the issue. And normally one feels shy to go to a chemist's shop and ask for a smaller size condom."

But Indian men need not be concerned about measuring up internationally according to Sunil Mehra, the former editor of the Indian version of the men's magazine Maxim.

"It's not size, it's what you do with it that matters," he said.

"From our population, the evidence is Indians are doing pretty well.

"With apologies to the poet Alexander Pope, you could say, for inches and centimetres, let fools contend."

2 down Lee strikes. 1 of the "weakest' celebrations from lee that i have ever seen!!!!

Poor stroke really.

Lee just got a wicket. Some describe the dismissal? How quick was it? Did he reverse swing the ball?

Sachin survives!

Dravid seem to lose concentration before playing that Rash stroke!

3 down, aussie fightback. another poor stroke

So india have to new batsmen in middle with Aussies main strike bowlers into good spells and Fresh!

could be trouble!
