Lee just got a wicket. Some describe the dismissal? How quick was it? Did he reverse swing the ball?

Was a pretty normal ball which dravid tried to drive and dragged on!

Was more of a cut than a drive. Decent pace though, was about 142 I think.

Dravid had played a couple of loose strokes before that so not a surprise he got out!

Gambhir got rid of a decent delivery and once again the wall Dravid had a lapse of concentration and threw it away. The hunger for getting runs seems to be getting over for him..

that flick off the hip for four by laxman was beautiful!!!!!!!!!!

150 up and the slowest for indians!

1st 50 50 odd balls
2nd 50 90 odd balls
3rd 50 100 odd balls

the sehwag factor!

i did not see the 1st wicket but the 2nd and 3rd were poor strokes.

4 down, trouble here, laxman out to a terible strangle down leg side

Laxman gone caught down legside!

India in trouble now!

Ganguly in and india need to get to tea with out losing any more wickets!

losing 3 wickets for 17 runs on this pitch is inexcusable.

Ive been impressed by Johnson in both tests so far!

Hes been Aussies best bowler on show!

Poor batting. The strokes that they have got out to was like watching a local lower league club game. Poor discipline indeed. These are good players, the mistakes are those of average players.

wow. great drive by sachin. 4 all the way.

Dravid played a terrible shot. Can't say that for Gauti Kutti, and Laxman's was a soft dismissal. This is the last thing India wanted. Both Tends and Gangs will have to build a good partnership, with Dhoni too needing to score some useful runs.

Did you invent Gautam's nickname, bublu?

tea. day 1. 174/4. After a wonderful start and a half to the test by india, some loose strokes have placed this match on a knife edge. After the start that india had i would, so far, give the day to the aussies, albeit a close call.

This is India, and only India's specialty. To throw away any sort of advantages coming their way. It needs great ineptness to reach where they are at tea from where they were at one time.

Johnson's reverseswing has made the difference.
He hasn't been reversing it; 2 of his wickets were fairly bad short balls down the legside, edged/gloved to the keeper. The third was a good length ball which held its line slightly...drew a pretty bad stroke from Gambhir.

india consolidating well after that mini collapse. batters looking comfortable.

India 236/4

siddle getting a harsh lesson on debut from sachin!

Ponting's losing the plot. This Siddle guy is bowling absolute rubbish and he's bowled more overs than anyone else.

It makes no sense.

umpire blunder of the day.

Perhaps a touch of arrogance from the umpire.

Recall Yousuf surviving in similar fashion at the start of the series agains WI in 2006, he was on 40 odd, went on to get a hundred and smash all sorts of records in the series!

Wonder how much Ganguly will cash in?

Cmon guys, why dont u cry over that decision...

Without that, this match wont be spicy enough :P

Cricinfo thinks he is out.

Mr Gavaskar reckons he is in.

So any new variations from Lee in this game so far? Is he still persisting with his shortcuts?

His appeals are lasting longer.

Some nice moments in the commentary with Gavaskar & some Aussie guy :P

Welcome to the Aussie world of trying to work out what exactly Ponting is trying to do. Always been a mystery to me why he bowls certain bowlers more than others and when he bowls them.

Siddle bowled well early though, has lost it a bit. Tough pitch to debut on.

Pretty happy with proceedings at this stage. 4 top order wickets on this pitch is good going. Need to get one of these 2 out tonight to finish it off.

this series is pretty boring honestly....the aussies dont want to attack for fear of losing their IPL contracts, the indians actually beleive the hype of matching the aussies, there is way too much smiling and ass kissing going on in the field.
Perhaps the worst of the lot - is the "phoney war" of words - two teams short of genunine match winning options on either side going at each other like bunch of teenage girls

No idea. But if he disagreed with Sunny and he is white, he is clearly a racist.

Yes... that is true... poor guy.. it doesn't matter if he know the game so much better than Sunny... if he disagreed then the damn Indians must think he is racist.

They compared the runs of Ganguly with The Don.

The Aussie guy said (when Ganga got 7000): "That just shows how good Sir Don Bradman was, Sunny" when he compared the matches Ganga needed with Bradman.

Sunny felt himself attacked by this, cause he said after a few moments of silence: "I see the point your making.." "But the question is, could Bradman get the amount of runs Ganguly got batting left-handed", of course he wasnt serious about this.

Just funny to see the expression on both faces, as we all know Gavaskar is the Indian version of Aamer Sohail :P

Gavaskar has a point though.
Ganguly is not left handed :D
He only bats left handed :)))

damn it why sachin why

why do I have to watch dada now and his majestic running between the wickets? :(

Tendulkar Gone!
Its almost like he wants to make the Aus bowlers' debuts memorable by giving away his wicket to them... last test it was White and now Siddle.. :(

surely sachin has been the batter with the most dismissals in the 80's and 90's?

not sure about 90's ....i think its either Steve waugh or Dravid ..!

a little disappointing that none of our batsmen converted their starts into a big one ....450 will be a par score here IMO ...if our tail can hold on again , think we are in with a chance to get that score !

Also time for Mr.Dhoni to score some test runs.

I knew Dravid was having a bad run lately but i just saw his average, its unbelievable... did it come down from 59 to 53 just in the last couple of years?

Ponting's still holding strong at 58.

This is the kind of pitch where Dhoni comes out in full effect, flat as a pancake.
