What's new

India v New Zealand | 1st Test | Ahmedabad | Nov 4-8 2010

Decent partnership developing between Ryder and Williamson.

This two guys playing sensible Cricket Out there for the Moment, Not sure how long they will be able to continue this. Williamson looking pretty promising guy out there. Young and positive attitude is the key for him

lol cricinfo.doesnt look gud day by day..

"Mansi: "good piece of stat for cricinfo guys , the comments you published in this test are 85.43% male comments .why this partiality ?" Oh we have 15% comments from women? Never realised"

"Vinci: "@Mansi: wanna frandship??" Good one Vinci

omg rajinikanth :)

but this one below was gud.things like these could be mentioned more instead of the above stuff

Ojha to Williamson, no run, 79.2 kph, solid forward defensive, around middle and leg. Dhoni to Ojha: "If it turns from there, he is gone. Now how you turn it is your tension." Ha ha

Who is this Justin Green cricinfo keeps talking about?

Tom: "At the age of 16 Justin Green was offered a Major League Baseball contract with the Boston Red Sox but turned it down to concentrate on cricket."

Richard Hobbs: "At the age of 12 Justin Green broke the NZ club record for the fastest hundred. His hundred was brought up in just 23 balls and included 12 sixes and 7 fours. (the four dots were all perfectly played textbook straight drives that crashed straight into middle stump at the non striker's end)"

Ben: "No mention of Justin Green for a while, so thought I'd send you some of his stats.
14,146 First Class runs at an average of 211.13, Strike Rate of 100.57, 21 50s and 60 100s. And the best part? He's only 29. The guy's a machine."

Stupid biased Cricinfo at it again; 'Williamson and Ryder DEFY India'

Williamson and Ryder are bringing NZ close to a position of dominance, with their best batsman yet to come! This is gonna be a massive draw.

One of the Indian fielders was chatting with someone I believe and Dhoni shouts out to him "oye chai paani mangwaadun baat karnay ke liye!"

brilliant stuff that :))

NZ doing well...this might turn out to be a draw...until India gets NZ our under 400

Well played ryder for 100 and bringing back some competition into the game.

Gone now but.How much times do these players in general get out after a century.331/5

ahh ryder u big dope .. still reveling over his century and misses a straight one from sreesanth !

ryder likes india , all his centuries against them

lol big time.there were certain players like chanderpaul, andy flower etc who used to save their best for india, ryder is following in their steps.and ishant sharma is his big bunny,he has smoked him big time in some matches always.

just what i was hoping for! Nz go on tamara and score an other 200 .. and bowl out indian for 59

Wow what a fightback from the kiwis. Williamson still in and if Vettori and hopkins can get some runs then the Kiwis really are back in this Test match. Am sure they will be looking to bat atleast till tea on day 4!

I guess Jessy Ryder showed hes a decent test bat when hes fully focused! well done on todays effort!

i used to like ishant sharma's bowling a lot. He had everything . Speed ,bounce and movement. I dont know what happened to him .Nazar lag gaee i guess

I guess has lost his aggression , a fast bowler should learn to use his aggression and mind on opposition. He bowled a few good spells recently in india.I hope he comes back to his best would be very very refreshing.

Rofl Lmao LoooL

Good stuff from Ryder and the Big Red Machine Kane Williamson.Give those Indians a fight !

Yeah well done so far Kiwis- if the Indians keep sending up dead pitches to keep their batsmens averages up then bat them into bore draws.

From Cricinfo

Steve: "Kane Williamson played against my school first XI (Daniel Vettori's old school) and could only manage 91. Therefore, my school is better than the Indian team and so is the best cricket team in the world."

:))) :))) :)))

100 up for Harbhajan....What a a bowler....Hats off to leading spinner of :quote: number one ranked :quote: test team

Not Really.. Ultimately Its a Boring Test. thats why None over here following not even by Indian PP'ers

Obviously for you it would be much more interesting to watch us bat like idiots and throw the match away? Come on mate, if you're not interested then you don't have to comment. With the state NZ cricket is in, even a draw is a positive result.

NZ always does well against India, nothing new. Remind you it took India 30 something years to win a Test series in NZ....that too when NZ cricket mysteriously replaced their usual lively pitches with flat pans on someones order I guess. :sarfraz

Indian pitches are disgrace to this game. BCCI is full of cowards.

lol how man.see the last few matches

vs aus at bangalore-result
vs aus at mohali-result
vs sa at kolkata-result
vs sa at nagpur-result
vs sri lanka at kanpur-result
vs sri lanka at ahmedabad-draw
vs england - 1 result,1 draw

i think its pretty gud.its not abt all the pitches.give some credit where due.

Maybe, but assuming this match is a draw watch for the "hey magic!" crumbling road next game to ensure a result for India :yk

NZ has done quite well...seems like India wont get any lead in the first innings...and even scoring 300 on this pitch would at least require 75 overs...so going for a draw...batting practice for both teams i guess

New Zealand 459 (165.4 ov), New Zealand trail by 28 runs with 0 wickets remaining in the 1st innings, Min overs remaining 40.2
So total of 130 overs left in the match...India needs to score 300 in 75 overs or so to have any chance...but i guess 65 overs wont be enuf for india to get NZ out in 2nd innings

hahahaa...India getting dealt with!!! 2 wickets down with 1 run on the board!!!!

India 1/2

Sehwag gone to a brilliant piece of fielding from Guptil.

rofl 1-2.bring it on.mr.gautam gambhir time for introspection in the nets?

Wow wow wow...
India 2/3 (4.5 ov)
30 runs lead with 7 wkts in hand and suddenly India looking to save this match

This test has suddenly become interesting .. better than a dull draw for sure.

with India 30-3 and missing their strike bowler, small chance of a New Zealand win here?

Chris Martin outscored Ghambir, Sehwag and Dravid put together :)))

Martin made more runs in his innings than Gambhir, Sehwag and Dravid combined have made in this innings. Legend!"

Yes yes bring it on.a good wake up call.things like these are needed.i hope nz win this match, only then next 2 matches, india will fight hard and that would continue in the sa series.

Yikes.

NZ really putting on a great display of heart and soul in this test.

Even if they lose/draw this - what an effort. Terrific.

Agree with this. Showing far more spirit and ability than many sides to tour India have managed. What a response after losing to Bangladesh!

If NZ can get India out before 175 runs lead...then surely its going to be a nail bitter

NZ......the same team that got smashed by bangladesh......is doing this to india
