Oh crap Malik gone. Regardless of the descion, this is poor batting from Malik.
 
Bad decision?

Not one big partnership. Realistically this is now the last pair that can put us in a good position.
 
On to Misbah. Malik's been uncomfortable throughout his innings today. Didn't want to attack, but couldn't get the singles going.
 
unable to understand what malik is trying to achieve here ...
rather taking the pressure off frm sb as a captain........ malik is instead unable to get singles n playing test cricket which is putting pressure on sb ......
 
I would have preferred Butt out...but Malik's fine as well...Haq and Kamran still there tho...still a long way to go for India.
 
malik got us in this whole by slowing things down to a snails pace. Misbah n Butt will have to play one hell of a partnership

It was a scratchy innings from Malik. Not sure what his gameplan was. Wasnt really looking for big shots or the singles.
 
if he tried to play some shots rather then block block he might still be there
 
Actually it is good that Malik is out.....Butt has been in for a long time and would be tiring. So, he shd give us more chances. Also, Malik can be explosive if he gets in.

I meant that Pakistan still has the edge..you have recognized batsmen in Haq and Kamran and Salman is doing great and can explode if he wants to. Another quick breakthrough and India has the edge in this match.

Well, with the Pitch really slowing down, that might not be as easy as it sounds. He probably was trying to get into the frame. Even Butt is not finding it easy, inspite of being in for nearly 30 overs.
 
Salaam All, i can't watch but looks like Indian spiiners will do us in the end here... regardless of Butt getting a ton, gonna be hard work for
Pak.

well PAK is 139/4 after 30 overs

we need 156 more runs in 20 overs with a lot of spin around. Not many wickets in hand to have a go at the end but the key is still to bat through to the end!

the last ball of the previous over...the ball was in the air but luckily the fielder was far away.
 
We need a big over now.

The only difference b/w last game and this one is that this time we don't have a batsman like Younis, and no Afridi to seal it. Just good ol' Butt.
 
Dhoni will keep the spinners on for as long as he can.

At some point, Pakistan has to force Dhoni to take them off.
 
umm are we even trying to win anymore. I understand our plan here but no real intent on singles even

not proactive.........
used asif like hell in tests ..... toil him like a spinner.......
kaneria lost in mars cuz now he has become a stock bowler.......
dont want to attack on the opposition likes to wait n think that things will turn out to be good.

only +tive is good fielding ........
and -ive is he is not as good as inzi was in batting ........

Probably batsmen waiting for the ball change.. anycase they need to go for some risk for a couple of overs and steady then..
 
they need at least 50 runs in the next 8 overs to make a game of it, if were still stealing singles by then the required will be over 10. All over if that is the case.

The pitch has become lower and slower.

Its going to take a huge effort to win this from here.
 
Afridi already out means, no firepower towards the end. Im going towards India winning this one!!!
 
Little bit more intent being shown with the strike rotation now. Let's hope they are batting to a plan.

Like I said earlier, Dhoni can bowl his keepers till 50 overs if he wants. At some point Pakistan have to attack one of the spinners and force Dhoni to make a change. Only then can we see a marked difference in run rate (with the seamers on).
 
Salman has gotta be able to blast out now! He's been in for almost 35 overs!
 
run rate upto Required 8.30 now... these were the overs we should have seen a spark or two if we wanted to make a game of it, but nothing!


even if these two stay on, can they make 130ish off the last 10 overs?

SB though has really struggled against the spinners.
 
anythng above 250 was alwyas going to be difficult..bad bowling and fielding effort by Pakistan...in fact horrible and really poor batting by Moyo and Malik..what have they done till now in the series?
 
Run-Ball differential is now 44. Still managable. But within 3-4 overs it needs to start decreasing.

This point is the innings where Yuvraj hit Rehman for 6. And their RR went way up.

Presently, I am in Albany..but the place where I plan to work is in midtown Manhattan...so will prbly be shifting to Queens/Long Island sometime soon.

Salman Butt playing out now.

Ball is now changed and time to have a go no luxury of waiting till the last 7-8 overs as we have batted way to slow in the middle overs.

RR already around 8.5 cannot let it climb to double figures unless it is last 5 overs
