Now you are crying. Indian pitches have always been dead for Fast bowlers.

You need spinners to win in India or great fast bowlers who can bowl anywhere.

England had Monty who could exploit the spin that the pitches were giving. He owned Indian batsmen.

Lyon is a an average spinner. He is no where close to Monty.

I am not goign to trash Starc, SIddle based on these performances. To me, they are still very good with the potential to become greats. Especially Starc and Patto.

Swanny actually averaged less than Monty with a better S/R and was highest wicket taker for the series. Monty was just more noticeable in Mumbai.

You can still play one spinner if the other three seamers are good - but the Poms went in with Bresnan and not Finn - that was why they lost the first test, the pressure was released by him (and Broad to an extent) from their ends.

Good knock by Kohli. India slightly on top. If they end up getting a decent lead which looks highly likely atm Aus will be in a spot of bother.

Anyway, this is the first time in months that I'm seeing some fight. Well done, but we shouldn't collapse until we have a solid lead.

Perhaps you missed last summer, on flat decks where Clarke scored mountains of runs, and you lost 4-0? Some Indians dont even know what a green deck is, ill give you a hint, if the ball seams every now and then that doesnt mean its a green pitch....

Then again seeing what Indians call a "pitch" for this game, not so surprising. Fortunately its a good game, but this pitch is still a joke. All that money cant buy grass right....

LMAO :)))
Game. Set. Match.

Why can't Lankans stay out of a test match thread and go attend to their SSC lest they get shelled by Bangladesh coming up next. :murali

Your Team isn't Collapkistan...:misbah

Trust me, we've collapsed enough home and away over the last two years. Or even going back further than that when we were #1, when the likes of Harbhajan had to score a ton to keep up afloat against NZ at home.

Why dont ya go to ICF where you will be more at home? :asif

Im not complaining about the pitch, its a good game.

But it looks terrible, especially when the outfield is lovely and green and people want to pretend grass wont grow on the 22 yards in the middle :))

This is looking like a draw unless the wicket deteriorates. At least we're bowling last.

Random Aussie, point me any wicket in South Asia that is a green seamer. Barring that hillstation where we played England in an ODI recently.

Exactly, it can't happen.

Aussie quicks showing their inexperience in these sort of wickets. Where are the cutters? slower balls?

If India can hold their wickets, and there are some good batters to come, could be 130 or so run lead by stumps. That will put us in a difficult position cos I am not sure we can make 130 on this pitch on day 4....

No man panesar was the reason they won. Two spinners a must.

Aussies can expect rank turners in next three tests as well, Maxwell should come in playing XI

I see RA here is whinging about the pitch now. Hey buddy your team is still very much in the match. You can start whinging IF (and its a big if) we win this series. :msd

RA, their best batsman is still yet to come!

Or that's surely how England felt when having to bowl to Ashwin.

Meh, your purpose in posting is pretty clear. I am following the cricket and posting about it. You are dangling average bait trying to get into arguments.

Million Dollar Tailender Jadeja doing well to help Dhoni get to his ton which will be a good captain's knock as well

Watch Dhoni slow down MASSIVELY for the next ten runs. Always happens. Got himself run out against England recently in the pursuit.

Guy's worse than Tendulkar in the 90s. Except that he rarely reaches it so it goes largely unnoticed.

He doesnt like the short ball though. Going to take some effort to bowl effective short stuff here though

Hughes  we needed that

Aus should have gone in with MJ. Starc has looked harmless. Might be the premier bowler in ODIs for Aus but still has a lot to prove when it comes to Tests.

I believe B Kumar is an all-rounder at Ranji level, so that helps.

If you bowl the short ball on this pitch, you'll probably have to hit the pitch at a quarter of the way in. Getting a good bouncer either takes ridiculous height, or enough effort to break your back on that delivery alone.

Rajan Bala: "Had Ashwin come ahead of Jadeja ( as per Sid's assessment), there would have a run out by now"

Nailed it. :)))

What do you want him to do. Take a chance and throw away his wicket lke Kohli. He was batting aggressivley when Kohli was around now he doesnt have the luxury.

I support Australia when Jadeja is on strike.

The other extreme isn't good either, remember he got run out for 99 against England after wasting like an hour to get to that score from 90? Served no purpose in the end.

There was clear inside edge champ.

But yes, Dharmasena is rubbish overall. Might've got it right by fluke, even.

1.25 billion ppl. Yet to see even a half decent umpire. :)))

Some Ranji matches this season were played on greener pitches. They are not same as we see in SA, but they helped the bowlers a lot.

India does not want to see green for international matches as they do not think they have the bowlers who can exploit the conditions as well as their opponents. Aussie batsmen would easily make more runs against Indian seamers than the Indian batsmen against Aussie seamers. Patto and Siddle can put a hole through this batting line up on a seaming wicket.

Home teams play to their strengths. That is why, overseas wins are considered superior to home wins.

Quality over quantity. If we can't make them, we still don't export trash like Dharmasena to umpire games world wide.

The Lankan peoplefolk should be ashamed of his umpiring.

Yeah, that was pretty much the gist of it. But labelling the pitch a joke after winning the toss and batting first and watching team 2 race ahead of you 3 times out of 3 now is laughable.

For the record, I was against Gambhir (or whoever it was) passing the same argument on Aussie pitches during our tour. Works both ways.

The problem is retired Indian cricketers are not poor enough to take up umpiring jobs.

So what about rest of the 1.25 billion? (which includes 40% of the world's poor) LOL

Dhoni is good against pacers in SC conditions. Make him face a proper spinner and he starts plonking and jabbing .

Yeah just like your cricket teams. Quality over quantity LMAO nice joke :)))

We don't care about them. They just wash the dishes.

When you're talking about "India" on forums like these, you're referring to the cream of the crop - us. And if Dharmasena comes from a similar Lankan cream, you and your island have a big problem.

Now run along and prepare for Bangladesh.

That again is because he was batting with Sir Jadeja :yk
