Think Kumble's injured.

One of these two at the crease need to go onto get a double ton so we get around 750ish.

match is a draw now. kumble has let down. wicket has a lot to offer for spinners.

Don't give up so easily, you are nearly 400 runs in front and we are batting last.

His hair is the best thing about him because it obscures most of his face. Gambhir and Katich take note.
May be katich should do that too. oh i see you ut him already :D

Ponting gone, massive wicket for India

Terrible shot and we are still in trouble in this match

Nothing to worry RA.
india would probably concede 800 runs and spend 4 more days for taking 20 aussie wickets on this pitch. in the second innings there will be hundreds for aussie batters.

Missing HArbhajan badly, if only we had that run out, 1 more wicket today come on boyss....

Although he's not the worst part-timer, two of our top 3 batsman shouldn't be losing their wicket to Sehwag. Now the onus is on Hussey to score a double or else I don't believe we can win the game and will have to settle for a draw.

Kumble, you rotten %$%#
Every test you play in this series you get injured and run off the field. YOu can't take a wkt to save your life, but even then you insist on leading the side. Rotten egg!! :po:

If he doesnt retire on his own accord, I think he will be 'forced' into retirement by series end.
no doubt
just hope the selectors dont pick him for the last test as a kind of farewell.

And thats for today: 338-4

There was a appeal from mishra in one of his last overs, which really looked out, even after seeing the replays.

Only after then, it was shown there was small inside edge, only the umpire and Dravid spotted it (Dravid was saying "bat")

well i would not give up on kumble so soon! there are phases where u dont perform and if these phases come at a later part of your career it's even more tougher. He's injured he got stiches on his left hand, so i hope he is back tomm to clean up the aussies because this wicket would suit him and i also hope ishant and zak have a lil more luck tomm.

P.S Yuvraj would have been also very handy on this wicket with his left arm spin bowling

I just pray for your words about kumble come true and India wins this one. but i am afraid his bowling lost the zip/sting due to his weak shoulder. he had never been a big spinner , relied on subtle variations, top spinner, faster ball,bounce,.... he is finding that much more difficult to force the batsmen on the back foot and trap LBW because his rotator cuff is hurting him.

this is not the first case of an indian player, being less than match fit , going through a series and not contributing!kapil Dev was a case in point.

Loss of Hussey Before Close is a huge Blow! Australia are Still 250+ Behind India and could quiet easily fold yet! A lead of 150-200 could be built on quickly by india and Australia may have to bat out time on final day!

Micheal Clarke needs to get a ton for Australia!

Back to the game, we really needed two of the top four to be there by stumps and that didn't happen. Full credit to their fighting spirit as they made India work today but we needed some of those blokes to go on and get a hundred. We may avoid the follow on but we're still in big trouble. Losing Hussey just before the close was a big psychological blow.

Our lower order is talented but I'm not sure about their temperament in this type of situation. This is the kind of situation that Gilly used to help us with, now Haddin, Watto and White will have to make up for him. Losing 3 wickets to a part timer is pretty ordinary and suggests a lack of concentration (that said, I didn't see the deliveries that got them out so maybe Sehwag was doing his Murali impersonation today).

We need a ton from Pup and some contributions from Haddin and Watson, and at least 30 from Cam White if we are to draw this Test. This is Watto's chance to show that he deserves his place in the side on the basis of his batting, since he's supposed to be a batting allrounder. And this is Haddin's chance to show that he can mitigate the loss of Gilly.

First session tomorrow will be absolutely crucial. And since today is Friday in Boston I'll get to watch it finally. :D

Is Kumble going to be fit to take the field tomorrow?

I heard he injured his little pinkie finger while trying to scratch the back of his neck and had to be taken to hospital. I want to inquire as to whether he will be taking his place on the field for day 4 tomorrow. Whilst his absence robs India of a specialist bowler, I would prefer him to be carrying out his captaincy responsibilities rather than Dhoni.

Anyone know if he's going to be ok? I'm happy to send bandaids via Fedex Overnight from Boston to help out.

viru is GREAT man he dindn't do anything with his bat but with the bll today he's a decent all rounder

For me, Hussey is the best Test batsman from the Australian team. And the simple reason why I put him above Ponting and Hayden is because of his patience. It's a gift he have which enables him to bat for long hours of time to save Test matches. This patience is hard to be replicated by the likes of Hayden and Ponting.

He probably will
Normally I would say hope he doesn't, but we've only got 4 wickets, so I'd rather have him out there and hopefully he can take a wicket or 2

'Anil Kumble, the Indian captain, is expected to be back on the field on Saturday morning after missing part of Friday's play with a finger injury. Kumble was taken to hospital, where the deep cut on his left little finger will be treated - sources say it will need stitches, under local anaesthesia - sometime on Friday evening'

well i agree with u somewhat, but u may call it bad luck today for kumble that he had this cut and wasnt able to play because i saw the play today and i have to say it was the best day for the Aussies in this series they played well and on top of that the had some luck both with umpiring decisions and with some unplayable balls.
haydos contributed his best in the series by injuring kumble cause the pitch is turning out to be a minefield and i am sure kumble will come into play if he's fit tomm ( i hope so)

That was funny :))

Clearly u can see that Ishant is the local boy, not scared of those bees :P
