India vs Australia, 3rd Test, Day 3, Dehli 31/10/2008

A good test between the bat and ball to follow today. Let the fun begin.

India v Australia, 3rd Test Dehli Day 3, 31/10/08

Aus 0/53 chasing lots

Hayden gets hit in the head by ZAK to open proceedings, nicely done

Ind v OZ 3rd Test Kotla - Day 3

I'm only going to be able to follow for about 30mins then I need to hit the sack. OZ 60 for no loss in reply to India 1000000000/7 declared.

Sorry RA didn't realise you'd started a thread mate. We need Haydunce, Krapich, Dubya or Hussey to bat through to stumps tonight and tomorrow night.

lol for some it will decide if the era of Aussie Domination is over

Didnt the Aussie dominance end in 2005 against England.

I can't wait for Dhoni to take over the Test captaincy of our team. I can't stand Kumble these days for his ineffectiveness in his bowling department.

I'm loving it, Kumble uncle going for runs which will eventually result in him finishing with a bowling average of above 30. How special that will be, a bowler with more than 600 wickets averaging above 30 :)))

No it ended in 1998 when India beat us in India ;)
The Aussie dominance didn't even start during that time. It started after their 1999 World Cup victory. Even in the 1999 World Cup they had to struggle a lot to reach the Super Sixes.

nah that like this is an abberation.
Normal service will be restored on New Zeland and the Saffies

This test is headed for a draw. Who is with me?

well austalia at least have some hope for nagpur .. no ghambir as he has been banned.

Good god Peter Roebuck is on the Cricindia roundtable.

If you want an Australian rep, maybe pick someone who is a) an Australian and b) not a joke in Australia and c) has a decent reputation unlike Roebuck's which is seriously compromised

Poor captaincy from Kumble, standing at at short extra, arms folded. Ishant is trying hard, he's got two edges, twice they have gone through where gully and second slip would be.

This really tells, how agood a captain is Jumbo

I think Kumble should have let Zaheer or Ishant bowl from one end instead of Viru as Punter is still not set and also coming back after break

"Kumble has motored past Kapil Dev's average of 29.64. He is 29.66 now, and fast approaching 30," writes in Vishal Bhardwaj from Goa.

Jumbo has to get retire after this series or may be even after this test

Piyush Mishra from Agra adds more: "Kumble has now bowled 66 overs in this series without a wicket."

Aus 181/1 - still 432 behind so still alot of hard work to do....!

Oh man Harbhjan would have been a handful on this track just saw the turn Sehwag is getting....

52.2 Mishra to Hayden, no run, dropped at short midwicket by Kumble! Mishra lures Hayden out of his crease and he drives hard, the bat turning in his hand, the ball flies to the right of Kumble, who flings himself but cannot hold on, as he lands he hurts his left hand, which is bleeding and out comes the physio, it was a valiant dive for a man aged 38

Jumbo jao yaar, naho ruko we need you for the series against Pakistan :D

Bad NEWS for Aussies, Dhoni takes over and Jumbo leaves the field

Folks, more dope on Gambhir ban. A fresh BCCI media release says, "For Level 2 offences, the concerned players have the right to appeal against the adjudicator's decision within 24 hours of notification of the decision. Accordingly, Mr. Gambhir will be lodging an appeal."

Dhoni is now very vocal, giving suggestions to Mishra

Question, why he was not vocal when Jumbo was incharge and on the field?

%^& they are pathetic. What a bunch of sooks.

55.6 Sehwag to Hayden, no run, edged and it doesn't carry to Dravid at slip! Sehwag gets good turn, spinning it across Hayden, who pushes at it while moving backward, ball gets the edge but falls short of Dravid, who frankly looks to be a bit deep

57.1 Sehwag to Hayden, FOUR, down he skips, collecting and depositing it over midwicket against the spin and that boundary after the drinks break also raises the 200 for Australia

200 up now, 1/202

Still a long way behind, draw no certainty at all.

Although apparently the last 4 times a team has made 500 against Australia, Australia has won 2 and drawn 2.

57.2 Sehwag to Hayden, OUT, and Sehwag gets his revenge very next ball! He's looked the most dangerous today and he hits Hayden just above the knee roll in front of the stumps, turning the ball back in as the batsman shuffles across to try and turn it fine, Sehwag belts out the appeal and on the third one Bowden raises his crooked finger
ML Hayden lbw b Sehwag 83 (154b 13x4 1x6) SR: 53.89

Now just wait and see how many indian fans will invade this thread :p

Replays indicate that ball may just have shaved the top of middle stump. You could understand if the umpire had not given it out as well. It skidded on and Hayden was well in the crease, struck dead in front.

Hawkeye suggested that the ball would have easily clipped the top of the stumps. Plumb out.

Umpire feeling the BCCI pressure there...if that was an Indian batsmen this thread would be full of howling Indian posters....

Hawkeye is not controlled by the BCCI. It's a technology, and it suggested that the ball would have clipped the stumps. Hence OUT. You sissies need to take it like a man.

Update: Kumble has been taken to the hospital for treatment. The bleeding on the little finger of the left hand had stopped, but it was a little stiff.
There is a half an inch cut on the finger.

Lol are we complaining? Haydos is out.

Just pointing out if that had been an Indian batsmen the Indian crew would have been complaining about it. Double standards much?

Your comment about the umpire feeling the BCCI pressure and all such stuff qualifies as whining.

How on earth can India be behind on the over rate with 3 spinners?

Both teams are doing this deliberately IMO

How would that help?

Frustrates the batsmen. Stops the momentum when the batting team are scoring, mostly. Warne was a master of it, he would make them wait and wait.

In Aus domestic they bowl 96 overs in a day. And even teams with 4 quicks manage to bowl their allotted overs. But somehow a team full of Aussies can only manage 80 in a day.

And again on the Indian side, I do not understand how a team with 3 spinners can be behind on the over rate unless they are doing it on purpose.
