There are probably on three players in Australia whose performances demand automatic selection- Clarke, Pattinson and Harris* (when fit).

Siddle, Wade and Warner would almost be automatic selections.

Cowan consistently does just enough to stay in.

Of those players Cowan is the only other who could possibly be captain.

And he won't be there in the team if his name comes up as a contender.

Dhawan is a good player but, you know you're not a very good side when he overpowers the scoreboard with his gazillion boundary.

What would be your XI for the england and australian leg?

To be honest we have an A tour of England and Ireland just before the Champions Trophy.

The A tour and the Champions Trophy (in England) will heavily influence my team.

terrible batting by vijay.i mean if u can't go after the bowling atleast give the strike to dhawan who is in supreme touch, but no he has to play maidens.we are trying to win a match ffs

Are the Indians batting extremely well or are the Australians bowling awful?

Looks tired Dhawan! Needs to stay off strike, there's one more day of batting left

Whatever.

Symmo, Punter, Katto, Huss, Watto...

Symonds would have stayed in if he could turn up to training.
Punter was in horrible form.
Katich was unfortunate to have a long term injury when the selectors want to cull 36 year olds.
Huss was screwed over.
Watto deserved what he got

This has to one of the darkest days/weeks in australian cicket.

Old story again.

I've given you 5 examples of possible captaincy candidates, who've had premature ends to their careers (perhaps barring punter to some extent). And what's common with all of em? A rift with Clarke.

If you do not want to see the obvious, then may be there's more misfortune to follow this OZ team in future.

How embarrassing must Pattinson be feeling for being dropped for that silly reason!! Feel sad for him... Aussies are destroying a good bowler's confidence

Haha

sitting in the room doing my homework for our team meetings. Lets hope we have a full squad to choose from on monday.... - trent johnston

Once again it was India's day.

Morning session went for Aussies and post lunch and tea it was India's.

stumps

why can't we extend it by half an hour to make up first day.the light is good.stupid rule

Vijay is becoming a new version of VVS. 2 tons , both against Aus. May be chance for the 3rd?
This will be the easiest though.

I felt Ishant was able to reverse the ball successfully more often last evening with the old ball which was not the case with OZ bowlers (barring few blockholish deliveries from siddle n starc).

The only real plus for us was Smith, and that the lost day might mean a draw.

I expect to lose when we play in India but I do expect us to be able to take some wickets. It's not even Tendy and VVS carving us up either.

I think the opposite.

His confidence will approve after watching everyone else

Headline of the Australian Sunday Age sums it up really:
