What's new

India vs New Zealand | Semi Final 1, World Cup | Old Trafford | 10th Jul, 2019 | India Innings

Will be a lot more. The original RRR is almost 5. With 4 wickets down it will be close to 150 after 20

It doesn’t work like that me thinks. Around 150 would have been target from start should be lower

This is kohli's 3rd off day in 3 attempts there comes a time when you have to accept he is a bottler.

Far from it. Apart from McGrath, you won’t find a single cricketer with a flawless record.

Guptill can play for Pakistan just as a fielder we don't need him to bat...

Guys remember BD was in similar position against NZ in CT 17. Who is gonna be Shakib and Mahmudullah for India today?

They just had an off-day. No need to overreact. Rohit and Kohli are remarkably consistent and capable of handling any conditions or situation.

Kholi I would agree, but certainly not Rohit. The moment ball bounces and swings, he's back in the pavilion. And I was talking in general about your beloved team that it's filled with FTBs, whether you like it or not. Playing home is all how they have built up stats.

:)) Some people are so excited.

India are winning this.

Was worried about the final whether India could do it. Now am sure, after they get out of this, nothing can stop them.

If dhoni's cowardice wasn't enough to hate him right now, pls remember he dropped Taylor when he was on 22.

Calling them FTBs shows your ignorance and no, Rohit isn’t one either.

Good from India to keep Dhoni in the hut. He can always come and play for the draw/NRR.

Smart tactics from the Indian camp here.

Luck starting to go India's way, dropped catches, mistimed shots falling just away from fielders..

Pant and Pandya need to get India to at least 100 for us to stand a chance.

Otherwise, well played NZ and good luck in the finals!

No but supporting India is treasonous:mushy

Yeah for some reason you think I support the Indian team, but as a matter of fact I want NZ to win today but not because they are playing India. I just want England to win the tournament as I don't fancy them to beat the Indians if it ends up being an Eng v India final.

India are still in this, you don't know how many times we've let a good start get away from us..

What if NZ fluke the tournament??

Wishful thinking those who still believe in parosis winning..Air India boarding will be open soon!

India needs two hundred partnerships. One of these two needs to score a hundred.

Shakib is the laziest cricketer I have seen, dude would've easily been a GOAT contender in ODI as a cricketer if he was more motivated. He wasted 2013-2015 being a brat and damaged his career stats.

What about the way your beloved uncle Dhoni has batted in this tournament? Will you criticise his tuk-tuks or is he infallible in your own eyes?

Oh forgot to mention you are another Indian fan pretending to be Pakistani here. :inti

Regarding my uncle Dhoni, I will criticise him when he doesn't perform. You should remember or drill this in your little brain that I didn't overhype Dhoni to score tons here like you and other indian fans did for Pant and Pandya.

This is a true test for Pant and Pandya. I actually praised Pant's inning of 48 but indian fans like you will never praise Dhoni even if he win this match for India. :inti

One difference I see is, at the same stage yesterday the pitch slowed down. Fergie's pace might be helping here of the pitch is true

Great Captaincy from KW. Seems like he has learned from both Pak & Aus game where he could've attacked more. Today he is rightly looking for wickets all the time with test match fields.

Pant is the best WK batsman to emerge from Asia since Dhoni in 2004/05.

At least we have Jadeja and Bhuvi who can bat a bit in the team today, instead of really poor tailenders with the bat like Shami and Yadav. A reason for a small hope :)

Sun keeps coming in and out. Need a long stretch of sunshine.

Rohit & Kohli - that can happen! Opposition will devise a plan and execute it against such important players! Also big match pressure can get to any batsmen (bowlers usually have less pressure because they get next chances!) It is up to the other players to step up in such situations, but we have Rahul the confused guy and Karthik - the nothing guy (so instead of 24/2 it was 24/4 - lot of difference!) Remember if India had won today, Rohit & Kohli would have geared up to come big in the finals, they are good enough players! But they usually don't get that next chance!
Rohit fails 9 time out of 10 when it swings. This is kohli's 3rd semis failure in 3 attempts. This batting lineup is rotten and I hope we lose, because there's a lot of batman in that group who need to be dumped for good. A win while giving us a finals chance will only cause future problems.

Why is it surprising that the greatest FTB of all-time and the greatest bottler of all-time have failed in what should be a straight-forward chase? Not to mention K "L never be on Babar's level" Rahul and the ever useless Karthik. Now if only Pant and Pandya throw it away and Dhoni plays a 20 (85) innings, India will officially start the road to the next World Cup in a worse position than Pakistan.

Pandya needs to keep his composure. These two can script a story for the ages. Will become heroes of Indian cricket overnight.

Gilchrist 1999WC Final: 54 runs, SR 150

Gilchrist 2003WC Final: 57 runs, SR 118

Gilchrist 2007WC Final: 149 runs, SR 143

What more a team can expect from their opener who always proved his worth at the biggest stage by giving them a flying start in an era when any SR close to 100 was seen as gold...

The GOAT bottler is your hero. He has no competition on that front. Simply in a league of his own.

grandpa dhoni to play with walking stick than a bat after hiding behind the tail too..

Not at all I was making a general comment in jest

These two are playing ok but a chance is around the corner

Need another wicket here.. India are getting the momentum back, if these two get India to 100 they will win it from there.

The Indian top three did the the bulk of the scoring, so others had little to do till now. A real challenge for them.

It rained yesterday. so conditions helping NZ bowlers

20 overs almost done which means India won't be going to the finals in case rain arrives.

Pandya us really lucky today.

Normally it takes about 6 to 8 missed edges and missed edges to produce a wicket. India pretty unlucky today, Rohit, Rahul and Kohli pretty much got out on the first or second error they made.

Gilchrist has played 7 semi-finals in his career and failed in all of them. His team were so brilliant that they didn’t need him to make the final.

If Gilchrist played for a lesser team, his failures in the semi-finals would have costed his team a place in the finals and people would now call him bottler.

As I said, you can find holes in every career, and this isn’t the only hole in Gilchrist’s ODI career.

Chill out, Rohit just scored 5 WC tons. Kohli I can understand, but Rohit has easily been the best batsman in this WC so far. Also Rohit has scored a ton in 2015 QF. This is his first single digit in WC elimination round.
