Yes,we have a good couple of days left but the players have already arrived in the city and there is a typical buzz around the city!

I guess without any doubt the favorites are India but someone like Mccullum,Taylor can single handedly win them a game but it is very unlikely they'll win this match coz we have a good enough batting line up which can chase a big score.

And another interesting thing abt this match is that YUVI will make his return to the Indian team after a long lay off.

:)

abhi se match thread?:O

hope he goes well, not expecting though.

Good to see Yuvraj back. Absolute beast of a player when in full flow. I wish him luck

Great to see Yuvi back but its going to be his first competitive game in a long while.

lol at 0-3 record against NZ. what is the point in playing IPL when your team getting tonked by average team like NZ.

I am His biggest fan but I don't think he will be the yuvraj of old.

I will be really surprised if Yuvi does well. But since he has been picked, I hope he plays all the games before WC.

All the best to Yuvraj Singh:19:!

^ That does not look good . Stll,it is just a 3 hour game so maybe they can squeeze it in somehow .

In T20, Any team can win on a given day and I think India played most of the matches against NZ before the IPL. Any way we have better records against SA, SL, PAK and AUS in T2O Cricket.

@Speedy and IamIndian - the guys u replied were Indians and not pakistanis i guess (Munafpatel810 and Spaceshot)

Put a hold onto your tongue will ya..

Why? Doesn't history suggest that we had upper hand in WC matches? I didn't say we will win for sure, did I? And what's wrong with having banter? I was neither being cocky or arrogant. Y SO SERIOUS? :yk

Can't wait to see Yuvi back, though i worry about his fitness, i want him to come back with a bang, and knowing the kind of person he is, he will fight his way through and i think hes will do well.

#YuviStrong

It will be worth seeing the kind of cheer Yuvraj gets when he comes to bat or if he fields a ball :sachin

hopefully UV plays a major role.bats for most overs, bowls 4 overs n fields throughout the 20 overs.would be really good to assess.

still think hes a huge gamble for WT20

Yuvi if he gets back his bowling form back....it will help lot to progress ..A few meaty blows from him change match in an over or two,
My team for India

Gambhir
Sehwag
Kohli
Yuvi
Raina
Dhoni
Irfan
Bhajji
Balaji
Ashwin
Zak/Dinda

Despite batting bieng strong, Bhajji can be used as pinch hitter in some matches as surprise factor for sudden game or two.
Thats the only reason I put him in team. Allocate only 2 over for him to bowl and 3rd only if he bowls first two well.
Balaji is calculated gamble. If his variations work he is huge asset. Ditto with Dinda who is very underestimated. Both Balaji/Dinda are god for T20s .
Sehwag,UV,Kohli,Raina will pitch in with 8-10 overs
Irfan,Dinda,Balaji,Ashwin,Bhajji to bowl min of 12 over with bowler in in good rythm completing quota and one having day off bieng given just 1-2(read Bhajji).I strongly beleive the following batting can post 150+ scores( enuf in SL conditions) and that would negate our bowling which is not great but is no pushover either, like many would beleive.
If yuvi does not get his form back, then Rohit(:facepalm) or Tiwary needs to standup.
For SL pitches ,2 seamers with Irfan as third is enough.

Atleast shd have spared the spelling which is defined by the people themselves..

Well,we South Indians write and pronounce like that!
but u cant do with it a name.it has to spelled according to person concerned.can do it with Rajanikanth but not Rohit or Samit

sorry for being pedantic

i think Rohith is correct coz without -h it sounds like HIT

BTW i'm a S Indian but i never use that extra -h

You remember when you are at a party, having fun with your friends, eyeing girls, laughing loud and having a good time just teasing each other and pulling each other's legs? And then this old gradma comes along and makes you apologise to each other for your behavior? Yeah, thats Spaceshot

Gee.. fantastic yaar :)

:)) Grandmas are usually fun traditionally. It's the 'ungles' who are the party poopers.

Walking wicket Rohit will be picked!

Honestly, I was very pessimistic about india's chances in T20 WC. But now when i look at the team closely, I think we have very good chance.

Viru, Gauti, Virat, Yuvi, MSD, Raina, Ashwin, Irfan and Zak. These players will surely be in playing XI every single of them can cause serious damage to oppositions. But then again, we still have poor record in T20.

Woah are you going to sue me for this?! :))

Anyway lets move on to the main discussion

I feel Balaji should be given some chances in the team! Harbhajan, Balaji, Ashwin, Zaheer, Pathan should be in the playing XI!

Ok Sir...lessons learnt...Let it be Rohit or some ****...if you know what I mean :))

To hell with all Indian fans questioning Yuvraj Singh´s fitness, and also those who are saying this is an emotional decision:boom:! Not often in my life have I used such harsh words, but I am getting annoyed with reading all this stuff on different websites.

Does he need support or such questions?

He will do well and he is the man to go for in an ICC tournament:). Good luck Yuvi:19:!

All eyes on Yuvraj as Vizag braces for two comebacks

Yuvraj has been the buzz word in Visakhapatnam since he landed in the city on Thursday (September 6) afternoon. Given the attention surrounding his imminent return, it wasn’t surprising to see the shutterbugs in action as soon as he set foot for practice at the YS Rajashekara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium on Friday morning. Yuvraj, normally known to be camera friendly, wasn’t distracted by all the attention around him. He was seen having an intense discussion with Duncan Fletcher, the coach, before catching up with the rest of his team-mates.

He spent the first 45 minutes with Trevor Penny, the fielding coach, who took the team through a warm-up session. After carefully choosing a bat, Yuvraj took a leg-stump guard and received throwdowns and then graduated to a proper 20-minute net session, spending equal time against pace and spin.

There were signs of rustiness in the first few deliveries he faced. Coming out of a long layoff, it took him a while to get his eye in. A false stroke invoked a cry of anguish, while a good delivery was applauded. The focus was there for everyone to see. It may have been a routine net session for many of the players, but watching Yuvraj go through the grind, you could see how much it meant to him. Players are known to be extremely particular with minute adjustments behind the sight-screen during competitive matches, however Yuvraj’s insistence on having absolutely no-one, including the net bowlers hover around behind the bowler, showed his concentration.

Once he got his eye in, the artist in him took over. Rasping drives, fierce cuts and solid defence, were all in full view, both against the pacers and spinners. In between, he also instructed the bowlers to bowl at a particular spot, seemingly in an attempt to work on his trigger movement especially to the fast bowlers. The entire process was overseen by Fletcher.

dont think yuvi will do much...but he hsould get better with every game :)
cant wait to see him back in action !

Good to see him back but honestly getting him straight into international matches is not the right way. May be BCCI/ IND team is not much bothered about the result of these T20 matches against NZ!

He doesn't even look match fit, it would be an emotional decision to pick him for the WT20 in SL without proper practise/ fitness

Rohit should be picked for Test matches in place of Raina not in T20's ... :facepalm

lol now u r being emotional.we all r being realistic

I would be the happiest if he proves me wrong n does what u wrote, but thats height of optimism

These coastal places on the eastern side like Chennai, Vizag are hit by rains when there is a match :facepalm

Fitness might have been achieved, but being match fit is very different. Plus the performance (w.e it ll be) has the ability to work in both directions for Yuvraj.. so its kinda tricky.
But its good to see Dhoni batting for Yuvi on both side of the border :P

Yuvraj should just look to enjoy . Who is taking this match seriously anyway ? Just chill!

I'll be rooting for Yuvi - even though he's caused a lot of heartache for us Pakistanis with his performance against us.

What a courageous man. Mere mortals would have retired after battling such a deadly disease.

we have a bright and sunny day but even yesterday it was sunny but it rained pretty heavily at the night....

Has Yuvi played at all in a serious match?

Fair play the guy deserves upmost respect for coming back to play at all. Expect a massive reaction for him from the crowd, it was warm enough just for walking on to the ground in Pune.

There is forecast for rain later in the day. Hope it remains clear, for the sake of Yuvi:zoni

When's the match starting?

Good luck to Yuvi again. :19:
