Pitch report: It has been raining in Chennai last few days, so there is bound to be moisture in the surface. On top of that, it is an early morning start. The TV commentators say it's a win-toss-bowl-first pitch.
 
Little more grass than normal on the wicket. 'I have played in Chennai and have never seen grass like this before', says Wasim Akram

Hope both Irfan & Junaid play
 
The toss has been delayed and hoping to hear a start time after 5-10 minutes!

On PTV Live they are saying that the game could be delayed for an hour or so due to and extremely wet outfield, however, no official word yet.

India is a very strong ODI team possibly the best currently imo. Especially at home where they can devastate any team in any type of situation. Pakistan really has to play out of their skins to win this, they can't allow to themselves drop any catches and make the most out of every chance they get.
 
Hopefully Junaid can go well here and get some nice inswing to Sehwag going. :wasim
 
Should be a great contest! Junaid, Irfan vs our batsmen on juicy pitch,.... mouth watering

Don't agree with umar dropped, he's probably one of our best fielders and can be explosive with the bat

Ah, phew. I was hoping i heard wrong.

Good team but I would've given a chance to Harris Sohail since Azhar is another tuk tuker and U.Akmal is just hopeless.
 
VERY excited to see Junaid back in action, as well as Irfan once again!!

Solid team chosen by Misbah, I am happy. Dropping U.Akmal was not that bad of a decision, especially considering how well Shoaib Malik plays against India lol.

Even Haris Sohail would have been a better option than YK. What a pathetic decision from Misbah ul-Haq.
 
First 5-10 overs will be crucial here with the conditions. Need to take early wickets or the India batting will take this game out of our reach.....a big total will be tough to chase for our guys
 
If India post a score of around 280+ are we really confident that this tuk tuk line up will chase it?
 
Lol at all these people saying tuk tuk. When B. Kumar rips the top order all you guys will be grateful tuk tuk is playing.
 
Excellent team - and given moisture etc this wont be a huge scoring game
 
hope they dont regret dropping umar. Miss. baah blocked pakistan to defeat against india in 2011 and pressured umar to play agressively. two other snails in younis and malik
 
A little off topic but a question?

Did tony greig one of the commentator when Pakistan played England in World Cup 1992. The words " Pakistan is on fire from Melbourne cricket ground" has been engraved in me as a young kid. ow I am not sure if that was tony, it was after wasim bowled back to back. Was that tony?

The team Pakistan have selected for today could have been our Test team with only few changes.
 
Imran Nazir talking alot of sense in the studio, should learn to use his brain while playing as well.
 
Not a bad team really, first impressions are that the likes of Akmal, Hafeez, Jamshed will need to bat reasonably quickly with Azhar, Misbah and YK in the middle order.

Hafeez is not a quick scoring batsman
 
India bat down to no.9 while Pakistan only bat to no.7. The bowlers need to bowl well to help out the bstsmen.
 
Congratulation both Indian and Pakistani fans for the 1st ODI bilateral series after so many years.... :)

Hoping for a test series in a near future.

First ODI of bilateral series going to start in few minutes.... :D Come on.!!!

Misbah is ruining his career.

Dropped from the test side despite being leading run scorer in previous test series.

Dropped from his domestic side despite averaging 65+ for them.

Batted at NO.4 only once in his career despite this being his preferred option.

& now dropped from the ODI side.

This isn't just a coincidence that Misbah is captain when all of these things have occurred. Misbah is ruining Umar.
