Asif and Shaheen out. Hasnain who could be a surprise factor and Shadab in.
 
Imad Wasim could be in as well. Hasan Ali could be replaced by Hasnain as well. Problem here is that Hasan is a good lower order batsman.
 
Was in manchester earlier today and it was raining cats and dogs from about 2pm

Hopefully game starts on time but its not looking good for an immediate start due to the heavy rain today

Forecast suggests showers from 4pm tmrw

We need haris sohail in the team instead of asif!
Otherwise, our batting is extremely thin!

My prediction:
IF pakistan win this game then pakistan will go on to win the world cup!

If pakistan lose this game, we are effectively, eliminated from this world cup!

So will pakistan beat india tomorrow?
Weather permitting - YES!

If that is the case, then no game can take place even if there is no rain tomorrow.
Pathetic organizing.
This game - people were planning for it for couple of years.
Ashes is more important to these stupid guys.
 
I don't know why but don't feel any excitement about the match this time around.
I was more excited about Pak vs eng or Pak vs aus..
 
With rain about and movement possible in the pitch Pakistan batting first could well repeat the W Indies batting performance let's hope Sarfraz wins the toss or the match could be over before it starts.
 
If Pakistan bats first and the conditions are anything like the WI match, fully expect Pakistan to be bundled out for 100.

Unfortunately India- Pakistan is now a seriously bad mismatch. India would need a seriously off day to lose tomorrow.

Say even if india are all out by 189 batting first, Pak will still fall short and will loose.
 
If cloudy overcast condition put India in to bat. They will be under tremendous pressure against Amir who is coming off a 5 wicket haul against Australia.

The weather looks more settled in the afternoon.

Pitch is flat as a pancake - I would win toss and bat first - esp due to DLS coming into play in the 2nd innings
 
Anything is better than the expected humiliation.
I will take 1 point without thinking too much
 
Weather has been unreliable tbh. Past few says showing we will get away with the rain now met office showing sumthing else and bbc sumt else

The biggest game of world cup and it's being played at old Trafford, should have got lord's.
 
ECB and ICC better pray hard that it doesn't get washed out. The online trolling will get louder. Now that everybody is upto speed with how they didn't completely cover the ground they have to prepare themselves for volley of abuses.
 
I remember every single match since 1992 with Pakistan (except may be 1999 which i didn't watch as i was in transit). We never talked about rain before any match. This is the first time so much talk about rain is going on.
 
Whilst we’ve got a 11 page pre match thread here the boys spent the eve of one of the biggest games they will play their entire lives at a shisha lounge.

Unprofessional to the core these lot.

Bowl first get india 58/6 before rain comes & the game is called off, morale victory , which is the only way i see us winning!!!

BCCI should donate few outfield covers to ECB, at least for the venues hosting India

I am even hearing reports that the super soppers are of lower standard and the ground stuffs are lethargic too! Even if it doesn't rain somehow, the outfield will not be ready for a full match.
**** poor planning from the organizers if true.

If all the reports are confirmed true Asian country fans should boycott this POS world cup. They just want to win the world cup somehow. Should this get rained out that will be two matches in a row for India. Lack of practice for players.
 
Can we get some weather update.

I have to make a decision.
 
Apart from AccuWeather and BBC, every other website suggests a complete washout. Folks in and around Manchester, looking forward to your regular updates.
 
Seems unlikely there'll be a result in this match. This will be the last 50 overs World Cup in England.
 
If it's a washout today, I guess India can meet Pak in SF {1st spot Vs 4th spot} OR Final {Eng vs Pak (Pak wins) Vs Ind vs Aus (Ind wins)}???

consider it done, qualifying for semis will be a piece of cake even at this stage for Pak team.
 
My only concern is that no result in two matches will make it difficult for India to sit at the top of table, and I don't foresee Pak going beyond 4th place in the table. So, chances of India vs Pak SF diminish greatly.
