This is from me, part of another post, couple of days back -
Amir is the most hated player in PP, and most under rated also, which actually tells lot about the understanding of cricket as well - among a mediocre bunch, he is only world class player and I feel often he is found missing probably from the disgust of playing with such average bunch. His bowling stats are misleading because of 3 reasons - 1. He doesn’t bowl to his batsmen 2. He bowls (or bowled) under the worst possible Captain (s) for an attacking fast bowler 3. He bowls with associate level bowling partners when it comes to new ball use - no skill, no control, no intelligence. He doesn’t bowl to batsmen who’ll try to over do aggression when couple of hit me balls are available every over from other end. Forget about Bumrah, Cummins, Boult, Rabada .... had he bowled with a minnow partner like Mashrafee with his intelligence ... he would have made Aussies grovel in first spell at Taunton.
