Pakistan have made Shankar look a better bowler than he is.

Misbah was ten times the player and captain Sarfaraz is who didn't meekly surrender against India in the world cups!One fluke ICC Trophy and people had started comparing Sarfaraz with IK lol!
 
Now is the time for tailenders to step up and become the hero coach Mickey asked them to become
 
I still wouldn't write Pakistan off. Their performance in the CT games was a lot worse than this, yet they managed to reach and win the final. The semis are a long way off and Pakistan can still come good.

I always backed misbah ul haq he showed fight against india remember 2011,2015 wc match. But our Rating hungry news media always bash him.

Ur top 5 can't do it so pls don't keep much expectation from lower order. Bowlers have already played there part as a batsman in this world cup.
 
Vijay Shankar has double his ODI tally in this match. He had 2 wickets in first 9 ODI's.

This has been done since previous world cups we drop players, sack captain and coach. Then we win couple of series against weak oppositions srilanka zimbabwe and all is well comes wc 2023 and it will be same old story.

I have been saying before Aus match.
Worldcup formula is so simple.

1.win toss and opt to bat
2. Get 290-330 on board
3.win

We always know we cant chase even 280ish. Babar again no game awareness. He can play much better than this.
 
Second best moment of the match Babar's wicket. First one was Sarfraz yawning. Memes are shared thick and fast

He isnt as bad bowler as he is a batsman,had some really good few overs v aussies, he had very little career as bowler to even grt judged

Sarfraz the less said the better, Imad neither bowler nor batsmen, Shadab could not bring consistency in his length even after playing for two years. Malik, Hafeez playing for many years yet have never won us anything, Hassan Ali is pathetic so much backing but nothing no results.

I stated that once here, got a lot of heat in return. It would have don't pak alot of good had they lost CT, would have made drastic changes to the team. But CT gave hope, same old same old stayed.
 
The best thing about today's match was India didn't panic after Bhuvi's injury and they had an immediate plan B of action. The first-timers in WC encounter with Pak like KL Rahul, Kuldeep, Pandya and Shankar have grabbed the opporunity with both hands and delivered when it mattered the most. That's the quality of a Champion team! Hope Bhuvi will be fit for the next match otherwise Shami will replace. Love you Team India!

It’s a big win for us.

3 wins and a wash out at this same with a few bottom ranked teams yet to play sounds about right.

Having said that the form we are in and the aspirations we have, the winning momentum must continue. India must beat England in the group stages to shatter their aura before we face them in the KOs
 
Pakistan just doesn't match India in strength in every aspect and it has been so for a while. Even the margin is bigger than the margin was between Pakistan and India in 90s (Pakistan were much better than India at that time). Pakistanis have to admit this fact and rebuild from the ground level- the first class, pitch, infrastructure. Otherwise this lag phase will be decades prolonged.

Hopefully Sarfaraz, Mickey, Azhar, Grant and Inzi go after this. This would be the first step in a slightly better direction. Its not just couple of matches but whole 2 years of poor performances.

Tough luck. Another hard lesson. Don't field first no matter what the condition is. That West Indian 105 all out match has messed up their thought process

Seriously, all those videos and preparation pictures? what was that for? when it mattered, on field, they couldn't perform. So immature of Pakistani team.
 
Wonder what excuses Sarfraz will come out with today. Its loss after loss for this team. The words don’t matter anymore.
 
I think only positive from this match is that Sarfraz can go to the hotel room and sleep he was looking tired in the field and it is unfair for him to go and play in this cold rainy weather.

This weather is for pakooray and sleeping not for cricket.
 
I would keep these players after the WC:

Imam, Fakhar, Babar, Amir, Shaheen and Hasnain

Bring back Rizwan, Talat, and Shinwari among others

Obviously get some new talent like Saud, Rauf and Khushdil in there.

Specialist spinner is the most important though. I don't see Shadab improving at all unless he goes back and plays domestic cricket. Hasan Ali and Faheem have to do the same thing. Then they can come back in a couple of years.

Who will be captain is also interesting. Fakhar might be the best option.

Mickey and Inzi got to go.
 
We may have required-rate equations which might be book-cricket material, but the covers are coming off and we actually might have some more play.
 
El Seniors experience coming handy for Pakistan I guess. The much needed experience was there today and that matters the most. :jk
 
This Mickey guy is clueless and keeps putting sides to bat after winning toss. He thinks this is Australia or South Africa not aware of our history how poor we are when chasing. It's like signing your own death warrant in cricketing terms. Trust me if there was Desi coach wouldn't have opted to chase.
 
India v Pakista. It’s one way street. Never been close in the last 10-12 ODI meetings. All that hype and build up. Off cricket related stuffs makes this hyped but purely cricketing sense there’s no rivalry in terms of cricket India is far ahead now.
