Sunday evening; Ashwin bowling, ABD and Amla battling to survive.. nice!!

It's moments like these where I wish a test match was concluded by either a win or a loss, look at how these school boy players bat when they know the match can be concluded by a draw.

Worst thing to happen to Test Cricket.

Not really. Teams battling to draw makes test cricket all the more interesting

How do people assess the techniques here of Amla and DV against the spinners?

Looks to me that Amla is using something very close to the forward press, trying to get forward and stay side-on. DV looking to go back more and almost squaring up on occasion.

Is this adelaide 2012 all over again? If saf somehow pull it i will put this even above adelaide, and it will gown down as top five getting out of the jail efforts in cricket history, atleast for me, considering the odds at the start of this inning.

Anyone know the most number of balls faced by a partnership and not scoring a run?

Looks like S.A are waiting for Indian bowlers to fall asleep here!

Some may find this boring but this is a form of entertainment as well in a way! Pure class!

AB 0(32).
He has vowed that he will not score a run, come hell or high water :))

India trying to buy a wicket with dharwan onto bowl now...

oh a nick and keep doesnt take it!

And another chance this one loops over silly point!

Amla dropped by saha and next ball lobbed it in the air and short leg couldnt get it. BOTH DELIVERIES FROM DHAWAN

Dharwan to continue, will this over be just as eventful?

With 12 overs to go in the day's play, and Amla on 165 balls faced, can he get to his double Cowan tonight?

Vijay onto bowl now.. Kohli trying anything now...

+1
But i think that VK left the declaration too late ..india may well still win this game but VK should have dismissed overnight

Great comments coming through on Cricinfo:

"Aditya: "My friend left pune when score was 35 ....now he has arrived in mumbai and score is still only 60." That's a two-three hour journey."

South Africa have done well to push this to day 5.

India need to just keep being patient here, plenty of time to take the last 8 wickets still.

Admirable determination from SA. Making us work extra hard to get the win.

Indian fielders around the bat preying like vulchars here a chance will come.

This is a win win situation for Team India, South Africa even if they draw this test match wouldn't gain anything out of it.

I think ashwin needs to ball a bit quicker ,8-10 kph quicker atleast.

32 runs in 33 over session

S.A 72/2

S.A still have 90 overs to survive tomorrow to save game.

If they somehow manage to draw this, which is highly improbable, they would sit with 116 points instead of 114 in the rankings.

This match is not meant to be watched. Just check the score in every half an hour and hopefully it will show signs of life

This is good from the Saffers. Indians must have started doubting their probability of win. Win looked 100% possibility when SA began batting, now that probability is surely gone - may be it has come down to 75%. If these two survive till lunch, the chances of draw will become more prominent. That said, SA has a long way to go yet. Battling out 90 overs a on a fifth day wicket will be tough.

In England they have followed this by showing the Aus-SA ODI that yielded 870 odd runs.

So the average run-rate for today's televised cricket games is actually quite good.

India needs just 8 good balls to win this test. Kohli will do well to keep that in mind and be patient.

Fast bowlers are gonna be crucial in my opinion. Ishant and Yadavs first spells tomorrow morning should yield a breakthrough.

I don't think either of these guys will get out today ..... unless something freakish happens !!!!!!

This is the reason why SA can never be considered as dominant as the Australians irrespective of their ranking. Aus always look to win. This snoozefest is a disgrace.

70 overs left. Need a good spell from the quicks as well. Spinners are being blocked a bit too easily.
