What Hindutva brain absorbed:
So at 28:55 The Host ( Kapil Sibal ) asks Praveen Sawhney: "Whether this counter terrorism strategy is right or we should be prepared for War to handle this"
In response at 29:21 in that Video Clip the dude Praveen Sawhney responds with this gem: "There is no such thing as counter terrorism and that this problem of terrorism exists since last 35 years because we ( India ) did not have Conventional war fighting capabilities at all. When Pakistan feels that India does not have the ability to fight a war then what will it do ..... "
So that is the "Depth" of this dude's expertise on Indian military capabilities and you call him an expert ?
And there are many other gems just in the first 15-20 mins or so of that clip but I am rolling-on-the-floor laughing my butt off listening to that gem right now so will post them when I recover

PS: If I were you I would ask the mods to quickly delete this thread as though it never happened.
Actual Discussion & Reasons
There is no such thing as a counter terrorism strategy (in my view) and let me tell you why. 35 years ago, when this problem (of Terrorism) started why has this problem persisted. It has persisted because
we never had conventional war fighting capabilities for example, China is sitting in East Ladakh are we able to throw the Chinese out? No, we cannot.
If Pakistan perceives that you have no conventional war fighting capability, then what would they (Pakistan) do? You do counter terrorism in your area, fence it off and keep doing counter terrorism for another 35 years. Pakistan is doing it because…
Host (Interjection): They are saying that Pakistan is imploding from the inside.
Pravin Sawhney (continues): Pakistan is not imploding from the inside and that’s what I was trying to tell you. Pakistan have increased their defense budget by 20% and China is with them, Pakistan is not going anywhere. Since I was born, I have been hearing that Pakistan is about to implode. In my opinion, the geopolitical profile of Pakistan has increased. In my opinion, China has dominated South Asia…
Host (Interjection): That is true, it is true
Pravin Sawhney (continues): Look if China has dominated then their Islamic partner is Pakistan.
It is Pakistan which can do a lot with Arab and Muslim countries. I admit and the people of Pakistan also admit that they have a problem with (their) governance and there is no doubt about it.
In my opinion, their readiness is before us and they will want to remove this pause before us.
In my opinion and you should proceed with this assumption that after one year we (India) are heading for big trouble.
It is not easy that “you enter someone’s house and hit them”, this operation Sindoor, you have exposed the limitations of the
Air force (which is your decisive force), you exposed them in 2019 and you exposed them again, where will you go to get your equipment?
Pakistan will be ready (quicker) and Pakistan isn’t going anywhere.
Host (Interjection): You tell me how we can be ready? We have so many (other issues), how much (defense) budget can we increase?
Pravin Sawhney (continues): We don’t need a (defense) budget increase, the issue is much simpler.
We need peace, peace for development, peace for deterrence building and peace for war fighting capability.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan is saying to discuss ceasefire and 3 issues (Kashmir, Water and…Trade), they want to talk…
The Chinese vice foreign minister was here in Delhi and he met with our Foreign Minister and wanted the resumption of direct flights.
You may know that Russian Foreign Minister was supposed to come here but the trip got cancelled because our Prime Minister and Foreign Minister went to G7, why was Sergey Lavrov coming here?
We need Sergey Lavrov because not only we want S400, we also want S500, why? Ask me!
Because China is about to give hyper sonic missiles to Pakistan (which we call DF-17 hyper sonic glide vehicles) which we have no deterrence against…Study what’s happening between Iran and Israel
There is tendency to underestimate our adversary and think of them (Pakistan) is weak, it is not weak nor imploding.
The danger is to you, not them.
Host (Interjection): So you are saying that there should be peace?
Pravin Sawhney (continues): We are a nation in the global South, we want peace and we have 800 million people who are poor (or below the poverty line)
Host (Interjection): That’s what I am saying that at this time, we don’t have the strength to…
Pravin Sawhney (continues): Speak to China, why don’t we speak to China? Our main problem with China is what is America’s problem that we cannot digest or accept a successful China.
Let me complete my mind.
If you look at the 36 dynasties of China all (but one) built and then rebuilt the great wall of China. We can say whatever about (greater) Kashmir but the reality is that both China and Pakistan are sitting on parts of Kashmir. It is also a reality that the 1948 UN resolution
Host (Interjection): The 1948 UN resolution doesn’t mean anything, anymore…
Pravin Sawhney (continues): It does. 4 days ago the defense Minister of Pakistan (Khawaja Asif) said that we want to call the “Line of Control (LOC)” the ceasefire line. What is the implication of this? When LOC was established after the Shimla agreement there were two things:
It was bilateral
Neither side will use force to change the line
There have been tactical changes to the LOC, we take a post and they take a post.
But if they want to go back to 1948 ceasefire line then it implies that they are preparing for an attack on Kashmir.
Host (Interjection): I don’t believe that they (Pakistan) can dare to do that…I don’t agree with your views
Pravin Sawhney (continues): Look, I wasn’t expecting that our Government will cross their airspace and I spoke to you about it. I was surprised as to why we are taking actions which are in their favor.
Host (Interjection): Our Minister has said that we will talk only two things, Pakistan (Kashmir) and Terrorism
Pravin Sawhney (continues): The Chinese have said that they support Pakistan security and sovereignty and its simple…
Host (Interjection): What I was saying that we are not even in the mood to talk and without talk the matter won’t proceed.
Dr. Ajai Sahni: Look, I don’t agree with this assessment, not talking is also (sending a message). I don’t believe in talking for the sake of talking…talks are happening, both DGMOs talked and there are other talks and backchannels. There have to be some measures (before) high level talks and secondly before you start “talking” with Pakistan you are sending the world a message that they are rational actors which is not true because we have spoken to them many times. They (Pakistan) continue talks and Terrorism together as talks are a smokescreen for Terrorism so I don’t believe that talks will resolve everything.
The issue is that
our postures don’t reconcile with our force. I agree that Pakistan does (Terrorism)
because we don’t have conventional dominance.
Host (Interjection):
Agreed.
