Never liked him as a person. Always came across as a disrespectful bully.

LOL, remember what a certain Herschelle Gibbs said about you Pakistanis during a cricket match?
What does he have to do with this thread???

Why derailing by bringing irrelevant stuff... talk about Gautam because this is what topic says.

Because that poster quoted something that the late Andrew Symonds said about Harbhajan Singh in particular. I posted something that Herchelle Gibbs said about Pakistani fans, and not surprisingly you deleted the video.

Gautam Gambhir represent the crazy cult of India. He is not alone in the way he believes he is entitled and deserves respect.

Personally the more episodes like this, the more India, and their crazy cult, is exposed.

where he said that??? please let me know what he said?

Belittling someone based on their job is behaviour that is usually never condoned by anyone. When a person results to mocking the efforts of a hard working man to get his points across you know they have lost their argument and lost their cool. These people are usually universally condemned. It is sad to see a bunch of Indian fans applauding Gambhir for showing the ground keeper his level. You would imagine that these are the types of people who mistreat their workers back home in India.

This type of mindset and needless argumentative behaviour is also sadly being badged as being aggressive or "alpha" by many Indians. General standards of human decency are being lost daily, and mindless thuggery and indecency is held up as the best way to behave. What has changed recently with Indians that encourages this loutish behaviour?

I direct this question in particular to @JaDed a poster who has sadly lurched tolerating and accepting this behaviour of the years. Brother you seemed to be applauding the behaviour of Gambhir and seeing the behaviour of Dravid and :sachin as weak in comparison. There is a reason that those two are some of the most respected figures in the game for both their on and off field behaviour whereas Gambhir is universally seen as a figure of ridicule.

This culture may be acceptable on factory floors in Mumbai or amongst truck drive workers in Delhi but please let's behave like gentleman when playing this great game. We have a duty to preserve it's traditions and pass it down to our next generations and must collectively resist the import and acceptance of loutish Indian behaviour as the new normal in cricket.

GG's visa should be revoke on the grounds of acting hostile and aggressive - rude boi has broken his visa terms!

I'm a time traveller who lives in a jungle not a society. In the forest I created a time machine and travelled to the year 2007 to live stream Eng vs India on my 50 mbs fiber optics.

I was flexing fiber optics in an era of landlines.

This is normal for them no manners nothing always trying bullying... Kohli & co wouldn’t pick a fight with anyone in a telephone box..they tried with Pakistan and lost 6 jets...now Thier cricket team bad time started as well.

Irony dies a thousand deaths every time I hear the gentleman's game non-sense.

Shubman Gill on Gambhir-Fortis argument: Coach has every right to look at the pitch

India captain Shubman Gill has said it was "absolutely unnecessary" for Lee Fortis, the Surrey head groundsman, to prevent the visitors from having a look at The Oval pitch from close quarters during their training session on Tuesday.

Tempers had flared when India head coach Gautam Gambhir got into an argument with Fortis, who was concerned by the heavy footfall as well as the presence of training gear on the main square and reportedly suggested to the Indian team that they should view the pitch standing 2.5 metres away from the strip. Gambhir was seen wagging his finger at Fortis and repeatedly telling him that he was "just a groundsman".

"What happened yesterday, I thought was just absolutely unnecessary," Gill, who was not at the venue during the incident, said on the eve of the fifth Test at The Oval. "It's not the first time that we were having a look at the wicket, we have been there for almost two months. A coach has every right to be able to go close quarters and have a look at the wicket and I didn't think there was anything wrong with that. I actually don't know why the curator would not allow us to go have a look at the wicket."

Gill said no curator at the four previous venues in the series - Headingley, Edgbaston, Lord's and Old Trafford - had imposed restrictions on India's ability to view the pitch or the square.

"As long as I remember, we had never got any instructions. As long as you are wearing rubber spikes or [are] barefoot you can see the wicket from near," he said. "We have played four matches already in this series, and nobody stopped us from watching the pitch. All of us have played so much cricket, we have gone to the pitches so many times, including the coaches and captain, I don't know what the fuss was about."

With India trailing 2-1 in the series heading into the final Test, Gill was asked whether the pressure of a must-win game could have provoked Gambhir's reaction.

"Not really," Gill said. "If a pitch curator is going to come and ask us to not look at the wicket and look at the wicket from three metres behind, that's not something that has happened to us before. We've been doing cricket for such a long time and as long as you are wearing rubber spikes or are barefoot, you are allowed to look at the wicket from close quarters. That's the job of the coach and the captain."

Despite there being several heated moments between the teams since the third Test at Lord's, Gill said relations between England and India remained strong. He said he had "no regrets" at the way he and his team had behaved during the incidents.

"The relation is fantastic, but when you are on the field, you are trying to win a game at the end of the day, and both the teams have been very competitive and sometimes when you are competitive in the heat of the moment, you do or say things that you might not do," he said. "But once the match is over, there is mutual respect between both teams."

This post says a lot about you and your mindset than anything else.

Is standing up for decency and for the fair treatment of a working class man, going about his job ,seen as worshipping to you?
Correction, such post say a lot about the Indian cult pschye. In fact it doesn't say a lot, but confirms everything instead.

Name me one instance were the cult have united and stood up for decency in all of 5000 years of Hindutva history.

Yup, zilch.

When their own cult ideology teaches them segregation, racial superiority, racial inferiority, inequality, and vengeance - then forget the honest working man abroad, the cult don't spare their own people especially women.

GG is just the tip of the iceberg, the cult members we witness on PP are the snowflakes. I doubt any of them have ever paid taxes either.

Mocking somebody’s profession in any context is totally unacceptable. Gambhir should apologise.

This should be rudimentary , he could have argued regarding rules or anything but he went personal . The issue is for gambir it’s normal to talk down to those with less paid or prestige jobs . It’s why that part of the world has the caste system . However other Indians realise you cannot continue this mindset when touring esp to England or Australia. gambir is the poster boy for BCCI who is used for political purposes also must show a power status . Indian cricket believes it rules the cricketing world due to finances . It doesn’t understand the game wasn’t invented in India , it was given to them by conquest. This behaviour has interesting arrogance attached which has no basis . You can see this within their fans , labelling all English bad as they have previously done with aus and Pak .

cricketers and actors are mere entertainment professionals, they are not saving humanity . In India some are worshiped by ordinary folk as deities . This mindset will not change , it’s best to laugh and ignore the Indian cricket set up

Its BJP mentality, they think this sort of chutiyapa makes them hard.

Indians have already broke it , so it’s fair now .

The grounds man is human , no different to you , both have no issues against India , which is commendable

Same ground , same curator with Brandon McCullum standing on the pitch during 2023 Oval Ashes Test .
Gautam Gambhir's choice of words was wrong, but he was right to some extent.
This is clearly double standard Shown by ECB.

Yes seen this image in news Australia. They are after Angrez both during Ben Stokes hand shake saga and during Gambhir curator fight. Looks like this years Ashes will be killer.

This is perfect example of slaves mentality and no wonder Pakistan origin player faced the racism in England cricket :kp

Ghambir is known as a dodgy character filled with hate , I’ve never seen him smile ever . You cannot rule out what foolishness he’s doing . It’s foolish to hide your intentions, ground staff know how to observe their work .

Regardless speaking down to a human in such a manner cannot be defended. You’re lucky to be Pak fan , if you were in India as a Lower caste you’d experience this on a daily basis

Im an England fan , racism is limited and lower than caste racism in Indian domestic cricket .

As for slavery , see ghambirs record in England, he’s been wipped by bowlers .

you completely dodged my question. For a moment Forget about Gambhir or Indian cricket team.
The Oval pitch curator stood on the pitch with the England coach in 2023 Ashes , but when visiting teams coach checked the pitch conditions standing near the pitch they have the problem, why? Isn't this is double standard

You’re using this one picture to determine the history of the groundsmans interactions lol . All groundsmen regularly go out and talk to teams near the pitch , it’s their job .

There is nothing wrong with a disagreement it’s the demeaning nature of ghambirs words . Simple really but Indian fan pretending to be a Pak supporter. Simple means little

It's clutching at straws.

I wonder how these cult snowflakes felt when the Indian team walked out in Indian Commando caps - which is out right banned in Cricket - but blow a hissy fit when the opposition wears a Free Free Palestine bangle.

GG is not only showing his true colours, but is also revealing the pressure he is under. He's only a batsman, now a thinks he's a coach. Dream 11? More like Dream on!

Damn, the way Gautam made comments that you are just a groundsman and stay a groundsman, really represents India. These people only respect the status and not human beings.

All the Indian taxi drivers here, should tone it down a little, in gauti eyes you lot have no respect than
Agreed. my thoughts exactly. Yes he’s a groundsman but he is also a humanbeing. Learn to be humble and nice to people regardless of their position or status. Learn some humility.

Gautam acting like Mohan Joshi in Bollywood films here lol … mein thakur aur tu aik ghareeb kissan, how dare you…

England batters shadow batting on the pitch. No 2.5m rule for hosts ?

View attachment 156464

There I no 2.5m rule for India, Kotak let slip at the press conference yesterday that the actual issue the groundsman had was then standing on the pitch NEXT TO the test match pitch because they were trying to get the grass to grow on it (and a pitch is roughly 2.5m wide). There is literally footage of the groundsman asking them to move off the pitch nextdoor and stand on the test pitch instead.

Yeah this needs explanation. That curator seems to be following a different policy here.

However the manner of Gambhir’s response was not acceptable either. Calling someone “just a..” is arrogance.

I didn’t know we have curators on PP.

Posting a picture of Brendon McCullum standing on the pitch tells us absolutely nothing.

Gambhir might have stepped on the pitch at a time where the soil etc. was not in a condition to be stepped on, McCullum might have stood when the pitch was fully prepared.

Pitch preparation is a serious job. The expertise of these people need to be respected. They are enabling the players to play good cricket, produce memorable performances and are enabling the viewers to enjoy the cricket.

I didn’t know we have international cricketers on PP either; that doesn’t stop any of us, myself included from confidently commenting on every aspect of the game.

People are reading it wrong. When Gambhir said "You are just a groundsman", that was not meant to be in a condesending way or to pin him down by reminding his bank balance.

What he meant was, you are just a groundsman...so dont teach us how do we do our training. The groundsman apparently was poking his nose in the affair of Indian trainings and giving directives of what they can or cant.

Agreed, Gambhir should have been little bit more polite but curator is culprit here.

Hats off to our Pakistani posters for taking this discussion in completely different direction - bank balance, brown man standing up to white man. One guy was even saying Gambhir should be banned from entering United Kingdom

Hahahaha

:misbah :kp

Some clown has become pitch reading expert - when to stand on pitch or not. ,😂😂😂

That's exactly what he meant, no need to sugarcoat it. Everyone has seen how some Indian fans flex BCCI's and players bank balances like it's their own on this forum. This is nothing new. Also I am still waiting for the Ind vs SA and Aus vs Pak matches. Kab honge dono match? :yk :inti

Guys, I think we’re being too harsh on Gambhir. I was too, I'll admit it.

But then I realized... he probably saw the pitch and had a full-blown flashback to the 2011 and 2014 tours. Before he knew it, Geoffrey Boycott’s voice was echoing in his head: “He’s rubbish, he can’t bat in England!”

So really, his outburst at the groundsman wasn’t about the pitch. It was trauma. Deep, cricket-induced trauma.

Let’s be more sensitive to those suffering PTSD.

Former Captain of the Indian Cricket Team Sourav Ganguly says:

"I really don't know why Gambhir was upset. All coaches and captains must have had discussions with the groundsman, sometimes happily, sometimes unhappily. It happened in my time, and it will happen in the future as well. So let's not make too much out of it. The test match is starting today and I wish India plays well and wins the test match."
