Appreciate her opinion but Kartarpur should not be used for political reasons. Sikhs and Indian government need to sort out their differences and not involve Pakistan or a sikh holy place in Pakistan. This is not on. Otherwise, she is more then welcome in Pakistan.

She is quite popular actually. This is quite surprising for me.
 
She is completely irrelevant. Don't need to get too excited. I have lived in Punjab for more than 3 years and no one gives two hoots about khalistan.

Anyhow, the Relax Singh reference was from a joke from the colonial era. Sardar Jee goes to enlist in the British army, and waits outside the room where the interviews are taking place. Hours pass, but he isn’t summoned in. Eventually he lies down on the bench and dozes off. After some time, the British officer conducting the interview steps out, notices a guy sprawled out on the bench, and sarcastically asks, “Relaxing?”

“No,” replies Sardar Jee. “Harvinder Singh,” and goes back to sleep, since it still isn’t his turn...

Not that surprising actually if you know her background.

Her father was killed in the 1984 sikh riots when she was just a child. They even burned her father's shop down.

That stuff you don't forget, it sticks with you.

No matter your opinion on the matter you have to admit she is brave. She is getting all sorts of threats. Not to mention, she loses out on a lot of fans and opportunities taking this stance so it affects her financially.

Yes but she has been pro India almost till last month.. this is new from her and its ok.. with the reasons above I don’t blame her, plus she speaks out against Caste as well, though if you see posts sometimes it feels she might be depressed, but coz Im biased towards her ,she is one I don’t mind asking for referendum.
 
She is a lot of things but she ain't no rapper lol, made a bunch of cringe worthy tracks in the mid 2000's out of Birmingham but kudos to her for calling out the depraved Indian trolls.

There are lot of versions of that joke.. only Sikhs and Parsis were able to take jokes on themselves unlike other communities imo.

Agree, would like to know if religious Sikhs want their holy places and pilgrimages in Pakistan to be used for such purposes.

Obviously not.... same way we wouldn't want someone using the congregations in Makkah and Madina for their political point scoring. These are sacred religious sites and should not be used for politics.

She was famous in the UK Asian Bhangra culture about a decade ago but she has faded away.
 
The video in the OP reminded me of a line I read in Nadeem Aslam’s Maps For Lost Lovers. A Muslim guy ends up having an affair with a Sikh lady, and Aslam writes that Sikh women were renowned for “a certain earthy spiritedness.”

One certainly gets a sense of that from the video. I’m rooting for Khalistan: the world needs more such earthy spiritedness...

Why would he, his ancestors betrayed the Punjabi cause years ago to get Desi Muslim homeland.

Khalistan is a political thing, so i wont comment on that and plus its an internal matter of India. But the truth she spoke about everything is bought by Modi Govt is shocking and not v good for Pakistan because extremists party in India will do anything to harm Pakistan. Hard Kaur good on you girl for speaking the Truth.
 
It's not about BJP or Modi. She seems to hate the majority religion itself. She is suffering from deep hatred, and prejudice. It's overall disappointing and yet not surprising. There are many who have been given money, success, fame by India and its people, yet they hate the country and the majority people.

South Indians, Marwaris, and pretty much every community in India gets mocked/joked about, and no one really cares. So pretty much everyone can take a joke on themselves.
 
Just watched a 1:30 minutes of this video. God, painful to watch. She is all so worked up and heavy on histrionics. She seems to be very aggrieved with online trolls who clearly went overboard and threatened her with 'putting things inside of her' as she stated.

Don't know if she also listed other reasons why she is supporting 'Khalistan' movement (as the title of this thread suggests), but if online tolls can cause people to ask for separate nations, then we would be all asking for separate states every day.

This video is a clear example of how NOT to get your point across. Extremely painful to watch. As someone remarked on this thread, I won't be surprised if it turns out that this individual has depression or some other underlying issues pertaining to mental health. Can happen to any of us. I just found something amiss about her.
