Interesting Tweets and Instagram posts by cricketers

Cricketers should be less politically correct on Twitter. It will help spice up rivalries.

This guy can troll well ;-)

Just went through his account. It seems a bit Pakistani like honestly. (Asides from the obvious fact that it's written in largely grammatically correct English with proper spellings.)

He's trolling teams, picking fights with fans, some controversial retweets

Ofcourse not any delusional posts regarding his ability and achievements but still not the most politically correct account. Is it Ashwin it do some other Indian players do it too?

But despite all that it looks professional

Tambrahm (Tamil Brahmin) hai bhai. Highly qualified, street smart guy from Chennai. I don't think other Indian players do it as freely. This guy clearly knows where to draw a line. That makes it all the more interesting.

There are very few Indian players who have good command over English language as Ashwin do. While superstars of Indian cricket's accounts (like sachin, sehwag, msd etc) are largely managed by their PROs, modern players like Kohli et al do manage their own accounts but they have very few interesting things to say in their social media accounts (except for posting selfies).

Besides all this, usage of social media for expressing opinions/interests has still not caught on fire among our players barring a few like Ashwin.

Like Sehwag? He rarely takes his words back and will say things without thinking about the consequences.

Of course. He is intelligent enough to draw the line, else BCCI would kick his :butt

Woah

Give both of them honorary citizenship. Vaughn's stance looks MUCH more relaxed now.

Plus Freddie jumping in to support a potential ATG, what bowler wouldn't? :srini

Tbh I didn't see Ashwin's tweet as trolling but more about underdogs [Oman] winning and the Cricketing World being happy about it.

Nothing to it.

Notice how the ex english players are expressing their views on Amir.

I think they can for see what awaits their batting line up this summer.

Ive seen alot of experts and media suggest that Amir awaits a difficult summer ahead in England especially at the hands of the barmy army. Let me assure you when you a bowler swinging the bowl at will inside and outside at 90+mph, the whole stadium stands up and takes notice. Amir the bowler is just too dam exiting to watch with his skill set for you to waste your time by booing. Like Harsha said in the Asia Cup, When Amir comes on to bowl if you are cricketing fan you stop what you are doing and you concentrate on the bowler for the next 6 balls because you know its going to be a treat.

He had stadiums in awe of his bowling at the age of 17. Im sure he is going to be doing the same.

Rameez pointing out small things of outrage when the biggest outrage is that Afridi is captain at all. And Rameez never criticizes Afridi with any forcefulness at all.

If he's going to get on Twitter and condemn current players, do it for those who deserve it the most

Rameez with his verbal diarrhoea again. This could have been a non issue but he chooses to highlight it in the middle of a tournament.

Good joke. Kohli>>>>>>Root in limited overs. Not even a comparison rn

Someone should tweet @ Johnson:

He bowls to the left,
He bowls to the right
God bless you Mitch Johnson,
Your analysis is still $h%^e

Johnson was smashed by Kohli in the test series in AUS. He seems he'll never forget it

He's better in tests, he doesn't just match him.

People go on the hype train and refuse to leave.

I mean in Limited Overs.

Kohli can and also will match him in Tests eventually. He is too committed a player to end up underperforming at Test level.

Both of them on their way to legendary status.

Root is the only player of this era who can match Kohli.

Yes I rate root among the top 3 overall batsmen but Kohli is far ahead in LOIs. Root has only become the Root we know in LOIs, very recently. Kohli has been doing it for years now in the shorter formats.

Agreed.

KW and Smith are just behind them two.

Slog, yesterday we had a long discussion and Kohli proved us right :))

Absolutely. I'll give Kohli an edge just because of the sheer pressure he is under every game as an Indian cricketer.
But isn't that countered by Root having to play in unpredictable English conditions every summer and still coming out of the wash top class?

Also, Root failed in AUS and Kohli failed in England. Gotto see how they respond in their next series

He's given credit where it's due so I don't see an issue. Well played to Kohli.

Johnson had a long and successful career and in a head to head tussle with Kohli Johnson was almost always in the winning side so there's no reason for them to be any complex rhony

I think Johnson was actually average against this India team in the test series. Kohli made a few comments in the press too about how Johnson was average. He was on the winning side but Kohli smashed a few in tests and Johnson got back at him in the WC SF. There's definitely bad blood between Aussies vs Kohli/Rohit

ODIs yes but in England the conditions are driven by the weather. I don't think there is a better batsman than Root on seaming conditions, it's what he was brought up on at Yorkshire.

Aussies don't like it when somebody talks back like Kohli does and ends up not looking like a fool on personal level (apart from WC semi)

For eg Rohit almost always shits his pants after the big talk but Kohli walks the walk aswel leaving them no space.

Kohli gets under their skin but certainly there isn't any inferiority complex or insecurity from their part because at the end of the day winning is what matters.
