To be honest it's neither of their fault - batsmen are not up to it and bits and pieces C grade players will only come good once in a while

Of course the batsmen are rubbish, as we've witnessed over the years but if they can't change their mindsets to evolve and grow then they should be booted out. Just look at Fakhar's innings today, it was bits n' pieces and then he got out to a ball that didn't rise as much as he had made it out to because of his initial stance.

Malik gave his wicket away, Imam/Babar likewise and so did Hafeez and the rest of the clan.

There really wasn't a delivery out there today that misbehaved, barring maybe the Sarfaraz one which stayed low. The batsmen don't learn. By now they should realise the importance of ticking the runs over if they can't get boundaries.

You don't have to play in the UAE and not know how to play short deliveries.

How they play the said deliverers is a different thing to not knowing how to play them.

They can play on the quickest wickets and they'll still be poor technically. You'll get a one-off game, or two where they'd look decent but then the obvious deficiencies come through.

Also, they don't need to be playing a hook/pull shot when they don't need to, especially with the rules changing in the batsmen's favour.

If the older generation of players can use the classic trick of practicing against a wet tennis ball for hours in the net, why can't the new generation of players take advantage of the rapid advancement of bowling machines. There are some bowling machines which can replicate the heights of bowlers and can extract bounce equivalent to an Australian, South African and NZ pitch. Shockingly pathetic preparation for which the entire coaching staff needs to be held to account

Wasn't it a case of we have the high-tech stuff but it's locked away somewhere in one of our stadiums where the players go to practice? I'm sure I read that somewhere.

Either way they could've just taken the late-great Bob Woolmer's trick of using slabs to practice, unless we have petrified little boys as batsmen.

Pakistan sadly lags behind these facilities. Throughout the country only NCA has a bowling machine and the batsmen to practice need net bowlers, need to get balls themselves and can't work on their game for more than 40 minutes.

In comparison players like Hussey, Kohli practice with bowling machines for 5-6 hours a day practicing their strokes, chinks in their armour.

Another major reason why our players lag behind the rest of the world and why Pakistani players don't show much improvement in the long run.

I would not blame the domestic players because they have serious financial constraints and responsibilities but the national team players have no excuses, they have the financial resources to hire their own trainers, to hire cooks, to go on diet plans and to buy the resources and find facilities to enable them to practice their bowling and batting for 5-6 hours a day, this is their full time job

IF Arthur would've interfered in Inzamam's domain which is the right thing as what he has done to the batting in last 2 years. Inzamam would be crying foul and threatening to resign.

He should be first answerable for consistently selecting his nephew, Babar, Hafeez, Malik who fall like a pack of cards infront of a short ball. For 2 years we don't have a solid opener, one-down, two-down batsmen. The bowlers have to do their work of scoring for the team.


Sorry but first class cricketers don't need coaching just slight work on technique.

Grant Flower is a paycheck guy who does'nt care and likes to remain in good books of PCB officials and local cricketers.
Inzi presence has always been toxic as captain or as selector. He is there for his nephew Imam, that is his aim. That Imam does'nt get dropped. This is the height of nepotism going in national team. Not expecting anything positive from him being there.
