What's new

IPL 2017: R Ashwin, KL Rahul, Vijay pull out, Yadav, Jadeja to be given some rest

Stupidity much.

Look at the thread title.

No Kohli (at least for the first bit), Ashwin, Rahul, Vijay. Yadav, Jadeja to be given some rest.

Rohit also mentioned something about his injury.

QDK (correct me if I'm wrong?) also out.

Pretty sure I'm missing another guy or two because I really don't follow this useless league.

No need to get so defensive.

You pretty much follow this useless league to comment on this thread and be bitter enough to call it useless. If you really didn't follow or care you wouldn't even comment on an useless leagues success or failure. You follow it and want it to fail but you know it won't. Lmao. :)))

That's one way to look at it.

The way I see it, most of India's international cricketers (the big names) are unavailable for a lot or most of the IPL season.

If that was the case with PSL I'd confess that the PSL would be a flop too, for that season.

Only Ashwin, Rahul and Vijay.

Not a single over has been bowled but the wise one feels bold enough to make a earth shattering prediction that this will be a flop. On the positive side lot of new talent will be revealed. The stands will be full, people will have great time, cheerleaders would be dancing and sixes will be hit but you will be pouting. I feel your pain.

The reason India is head and shoulder above the others is that all the names you mentioned can easily be replaced. They will be missed but they are not indespensable. Last test Kohli did not play and the result is there to see.

I am not defensive but feel sorry for the haters.

IPL in it's 10 year isnt only about the players but team loyalty , atmosphere and the grand stage. It's USP is based upon the competitive spirit and the amount of players on display. Few players won't make much of a difference. Heck, Indian fans see much of it's own players in international games , I'm more excited to see afghan players and see how they find the experience and perform

I'm a regular PP visitor and had I not seen this thread I would not have known.

Unlike you, who is so obsessed with Pakistan that you made an account on a Pakistani forum, I'm not obsessed with India.

Once again defensive. I think it's in the Indian blood.

Of course crowds will still be full. If they're not full in a country with a population of 1.2 billion, then all the stadiums should be burned down (you Indians are definitely capable of pulling that act off, of course).

Last Test Kohli did not play but the individuals who won India in that Test are also going to be resting for a bit this IPL season.

Sure crowds will be there but overall, this season will be a flop compared to previous seasons.

This season will be biggest.Last year Sony generated 1200 crore in ad revenues this time it may cross 1500 crores.

If crowds are full then how season will be flop? Just your personal opinion without any logics?

This season will be biggest in IPL history.

Like I said, in a cricket-mad country with a population of 1.2 B, crowds will always be full.

That doesn't necessarily tell you how successful the season is.

You claim to be not following this 'useless' league and yet you are hell-bent to prove how IPL is a failure.:)))
So either you have no knowledge regarding IPL due to not following it and just trying to argue here out of jealously or you follow it and know what you are talking about. :))
Hope this time you have better answer.
Regarding me joining this forum is not because I am obsessed but wanted to have a look at things from different perspective. Its more out of curiosity than obsession.

What is your criteria for succes? Playing IPL final in Lahore?

IPL died after the banning of CSK and Rajasthan Royals. I don't want to see stupid Pune Warriors. I don't know why they could have changed the management rather than penalizing the entire city.

lol it got only bigger last year, will get even bigger this season after a stellar Home season in tests has got fans connected massively.

Check for the initial few matches, likely to be sell outs despite local associations trying to trip the court appointed administrators.

I live in Delhi, have seen more promo events for DD this time than any other season. Can only imagine what other teams are doing.

May be he is fan of one of the teams. It's difficult to manage when your favorite team is out of Tourney.

More people, more revenue, more fun, league getting stronger ==== success.

Your insecurities are showing. I think the medical term for this is called "Sour Grape Syndrome".

:))) :)))

Nothing better than riling up a few Indian kids. Making it look like I stole their lollipop. shaz619 :))

Meanwhile, AB also starts the league injured, while Sarfraz Khan is also unavailable.

TV ratings determine if the league is a success. Not only in India, but also worldwide, as we saw with the PSL where most of the viewers came from the ever so obsessed Indians. :))

I'm a disgruntled CSK fan, leave me alone. :mv

PSL isnt even telecast in India. So what tv ratings?

So now I'm a hater; great. :))

IPL for now is still the #1 cricket league.

The fact that I'm saying this season will be a flop doesn't necessarily mean I hate IPL.

Not now but you always will be a hater.
You wish failure upon others for your petty reasons.
Your approach should have been"I feel bad so many players are hurt but I wish you success"
Your approach was I wish this league fails.
It will be more sucess than you imagine. So will be PSL. In 5 years time the Indian. Pakistan and BD leagues will be top and people who dont like T20 can go fly a kite.

Another money lover. Go count their money bro. Cricket comes second for some of you.

its not just about you and me .

Players in the past played cricket for their state all their life and could not make a decent living in the past . By far our most popular sport and why do we have a problem if the top 100 people in a country of a billion make some money . it is a massive achievement to be a Top 100 player in the country .

There has to be a cap on the salaries and incomes though. If a true star like Kohli earns a million dollars then that is fine, but we have a situation where eighteen year old kids are earning million dollars and that will only lead them to boozing, partying and all other such activities with a little bit of cricket thrown in the mix.

If you reward people before they have achieved anything they become 'soft'

What if this 18 year old has a career ending injury the next year or the year after ? Forget about him , like we have done with all the domestic players who never made it big ?

A player who becomes soft cos of earning some money was never going to make it big , anyway ?

Stay calm, everyone

Yes Sir! Me and square drive are good friends. We were having fun with each other if the comments were directed at us. If not both of us can resume mild trolling.
