so what you are saying is that the EPL is so weak that it gets beaten in UK (where football is the number one sport) by IPL which is supposedly only being watched by Indian expats. So how powerful is EPL if it cannot stand against a foreign cricket league in the home of football?

EPL is so poor that it gets beaten in at home, where football is more popular, by a foreign cricket league watched only by Indian expats

Most of these argue like they interviewed 1000s of people and did a study on viewership. "Nobody watches other than Indians' This is the standard strawman argument you see.

When there are 1.5 billion population looking for cheap entertainment IPL, WPL, Bollywood all will be successful and super hit.

Cricket is a decent sport compared to many other mediocre sports. Look at Baseball, a boring sport where players just chew gum, gets strike out 70% of time but still make millions.

International T20 have best chance of global viewership. However, it's very difficult for other countries to even pick up T20 Cricket. Cricket is just a difficult game compared to other sports.

Please tell me how exactly IPL is cheap entertainment? It is the highest form of T20 cricket and on par with WT20. No other international T20 series comes close to IPL on being competitiveness. Are you saying the ongoing Pak vs NZ JAMT20 series is more entertaining than IPL?

I am not saying IPL is cheap entertainment, but that people are always looking for some kind of entertainment in their lives.

Games in NZ makes for great viewership just for landscape alone whether bilateral or not.

Interesting. I don't think I have ever heard that argument before. For any sport. Tuning in for a sporting event to watch the landscape is a new one for me.

IPL is a cheap league indeed

You can claim what you want but there is no way I'm going to believe that a foreign domestic cricket tournament is going to have more viewership and popularity and endless debates of games than the English Premier League which is not only the national game of the England but the league with its household has viewership and global fanbase.

I'm waiting for these indians to claim they are bigger than Manchester utd 😄
