Israel targets Iranian internal security forces in overnight strikes

The Israeli military launched an assault overnight on buildings affiliated with Iran’s internal security forces, with the Israeli Air Force carrying out "an additional wave of airstrikes targeting regime-affiliated sites across Tehran," the Israel Defense Forces said.

Airstrikes targeted "dozens" of sites connected to those forces, IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee said in a post in Arabic on social media early on Wednesday.

The IDF said it dropped "numerous" munitions on headquarters belonging to the Basij Militia, forces that had been employed by the former supreme leader in quelling domestic unrest.

"These headquarters were used by the Iranian regime to maintain its stability and tighten its control across various parts of Iran by shaping the operational situation picture," Adraee said.

He added, "Additionally, the Supply and Logistics Directorate affiliated with the regime's Ground Forces was targeted, along with missile launch platforms and defensive systems."

Strike’s on infrastructure related to the Iranian regime were expected to "continue to deepen," he said.

Iran have tried to kill him, but the challenge is that unlike the Ayatollah, he's not at home, he's hiding in bunkers and his family is in Miami. One died a martyr in his own home, the other runs around like a coward. Much harder to kill. Also Iranian culture or should I say Persian culture is not as vengeance fuelled as others.

This is your problem and the problem of the west - they often don't understand their enemy. If they did they wouldn't have started this in this way.

They killed the one man who stood between Iran and nuclear weapons. They failed (so far) in regime change.

I'm not a military guy - do we know what type of missiles these are? It seems they are not the high speed ones they used the other day. Or am I wrong?

Clearly several got through so they may have launched 30+ with some inceptions and the ones going through have caused severe damage.

No wonder the Israelis won't let media in.

You are not wrong. Economic progress is something which should be encouraged, but if the war drags on, the gulf states won't even have that. They are fighting Netenyahu's war with a view to losing which is crazy.

They won't understand because they want to deliberately paint this as a black and white situation because it suits the narrative of a common hindu molecule who is trying to sound relevant between far-greater ideologies, but in reality they're just doodh mein makkhi and more suited to spelling bee, computer mechanic type roles.

The cowardly killing was initiated to instigate a power-play regime change at massive ideological scale, which has now come back as a slap on the faces of Trump and Bibi and the latter has run away like a worm. And it's a difficult lesson learnt for GCC who have been dragged into the combat and now confused on next steps.

You also left out the part where the Iranian intelligence have got an epic fail on their scorecard for letting this happen in the opening minutes of the conflict.

It's like losing Tendulkar in the first over of a cricket match. After that point you are always playing catch up.

They have backdoors in infrastructure, and with lot of data linkage and deductive reasoning, monitor people with success. Back in the war on terror days, they used backdoors in Cisco infrastructure that was installedd in Pakistan to monitor every internet communication that was going on. It will be the same for India and rest of the world too.
Until and unless, countries develop their own native tech, they will always be able to monitor and spy.
