You need class players to get a good chunk of the runs (on most days) and the STRIKERS to get you the rest quickly.

Esp when chasing.

If you play RISKY cricket you are MORE LIKELY to lose wickets....

90 runs at 7rpo with 6 wickets inhand... is fine.

Yes it would be better if he got us closer.... he does it more often than not.

He take us closer and chokes then. Sorry but this strategy only works few times. They have to be more aggressive and rotate the strike. Misbah is absolutely no class player. If he can't really rotate the strike on a regular bases then I don't think he should be termed as class. Inzi was class, Malik was class, Javed was class and Yousuf is class. Misbah is absolutely no class batsman at all. He is though a fighter and does have a lot of grit but that's not enough, he should be more proactive which he absolutely is not. This approach like I said works every now and then and specially not against a quality opponent.

I'm not saying this because of today but, Umar Akmal has to bat higher up if not open the batting.

ever consider that perhaps umar might not want to bat higher or open???

ala inzi or yousuf.

That's the difference between Pakistani top players and top players from Australia, India, England, Sri Lanka.

Ponting, Tendulkar, Trott, Sangakkara always open or come one down rather than wait for the new ball to lose its shine before coming in.

Besides, umar's game is best suited for later in the innings with his high risk/high reward style.

This in no way takes away from what he did today... I think he should be man of the match over Ajmal and Younis.
