True but almost format isn't good when you have 5 team tournament make top 2 play final no point of 4 teams advancing

That too with semi finals instead of playoffs! It’s basically lots of practice games for 4/5 teams, then the actual tournament starts with the semis.

Misbah in an interview today said Azam is tailor made for white ball cricket and they’re both trying to develop Rizwan’s power hitting skills as well as look for potential alternatives. He’s just waiting on Azam to get fit. In the meanwhile they might try developing Khushdil as a part-time keeper.

This boy Azam khan is a beast, probably the biggest hitter in Pakistan. Problem is he is following the footstep of Afridi whereas he should have followed the Pandya or buttler. He can be the Maxwell of Pakistan if developed properly

Like I said there wasn’t MUCH choice. When the batsmen around you are crumbling, and there’s only 6 overs left chasing 80/90 odd you have to take risks.

Yeah no point in given Azam khan a hard time for this game he did what he could and he had to attack from ball 1 no choice

However in other games were he had time to play at a decent rate or he didn't need to go all out from ball one sometime he would get out by playing a rash shot of he is able to understand the value of his wickets during those situations he can be a solid player

If we remove the boundaries, Azam scored 8(12) i.e. only 4 dot balls. He can run between the wickets in other words - that dispels certain misconceptions about him, I would hope.

Azam Khan is the batting equivalent of Mohammed Sami. As Sami didn't know the art of taking wickets, Azam doesn't know the art of scoring runs. Cameos aren't good enough.

But I'd give Azam a lot of credit for one thing. The guy has got an X factor about him. For far too long, Pakistan have had players like Faheem Ashraf,Hammad Azam, Fawad Alam, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali etc who are the dullest cricketers ever to grace the field.

Azam has that x factor about him to singlehandedly change the course of the match. He's got natural ability to see the ball, hit the ball. But has got 0 ability to build an innings. Hopefully he can add some brain to his brawn.

"I really enjoyed the tournament. Sometimes you are successful, sometimes you are not, you got to back yourself. The trophy is the biggest thing, that's a big satisfaction. Happy with the performance. Would like to congratulate the Gladiators who played good cricket. We started off really well, but we struggled a bit in the middle part of the tournament. That happens in such tournaments."

1. Gunathilaka and Dickwella are among the best batters in SL.
2. Thisara and Shanaka are very good seam bowling allrounders and captaincy options.
3. Hasaranga is a full package. Expect him to be in LOIs for some good time.
