According to some experts it was Mickey that insisted for his inclusion while others in the selection committee thought that he is too inexperienced.

Others wanted Wahab Riaz for the pace.

Which experts?

There are some experts who have an agenda against Sarfraz like posters in this forum who will never appreciate a single thing Sarfraz does in life for example Amir Sohail who was criticizing Sarfraz in CT even when we were on a roll.

Its quite obvious that Hasnain's selection has mostly to do with Sarfraz. If Haris was playing in Quetta he most probably would have been selected as well. National team's captain's input values a lot. Sarfraz has seen him closely and has given him overs in different stages of match must be thinking him as a prospect for world cup.

Rashid Latif.

That's what I heard and yea I agree that Sarfraz manages players well. He has managed to get more out of Umar, Shezzy as well which is a big thing.

On the other hand it's unbelievable that Saud Shakeel hasn't had a game.

I think Faheem is a better one day bowler than Amir these days.

Sarfaraz isn't a selector so even if true that story has nothing to do with him.

It's reasonable to assume all three of Mickey, Inzi and Sarfaraz supported Hasanain's inclusion.

Really good bowling attack but batting a bit slim with long tail considering we dont have a string middle order already.

Probably.

But according to Rashid others wanted experience while Mickey thought Hasnain should be in now.

No idea what Sarfraz's role was in this.
 
Sarfraz's captaincy in PSL has always been really impressive. Made me his fan in the first edition itself. However, his lack of conversion of his leadership to test and ODI format is bit intriguing. May be it has something to do with Mickey who is obviously not the best strategist or tactician. Or maybe its Sarfaraz himself who isnt as good as T20s in the longer formats.

On a side note, Sarfraz has really good understanding with Moin Khan. BMac was the one who asked for Mike Hesyson as NZ national coach bcz he used to have a good combo with him as captain of Otago.
 
After some years, Iftikhar has finally started to convert his domestic performances to PSL
 
Could've been 210ish but still competitive. Watson is key. Akmal will probably bottle it as usual in a pressure environment.
 
With Sohail Khan and Shinwari in our line up even 250 wouldn't have been enough. QG to win it easily.
 
Amir looks more skinnier than he was when in UAE.

His mother's death must have taken a massive toll on him physically.

Btw now its obvious why i was saying Quetta will chase anything under 200 at a canter very bad batting from kk in first 10 overs almost criminal
 
Shehzad has come into serious form, not sure if he can break in to a settled top 3 for Pakistan but good to see him adding some depth to the possible selection.

Yes his recent form in PSL definitely puts him in contention with Abid Ali and Shan (Who are currently selected) for the third opener option if required.
 
That footwork and timing for Shehzad! Where was all this when needed for Pakistan in WC 2011 and 2015 or other matches.

Though do remember his decent innings against SA in SA in a series decider in 2013 which Pak won.

Obviously to selectors Yasir is a better LOI spinner than Umer Khan or Zafar Gohar :dw

I hope he proves me wrong though by winning the matches for Pak
 
Surprising that 3 of the batsmen selected for ODIs against Aus in Shan, Abid couldnt get selected or much games in PSL because they couldnt hit the bowl as well as needed for T20s.

Umer khan is mediocre.
 
Umer Khan, anotehr very young guy coming through for Pak. With Shadab, Shaheen, Haris and co, lots of good young talent to choose from for years to come.
