List of records held by Shahid Afridi

Being an all-rounder. He contributes more towards the win of his team and therefore he gets man-of-the-match awards. The award is given to someone who does something more than others.

Shahid Khan Afridi has won more man-of-the-match awards in limited-overs cricket than any other Pakistani. His tally of 30 awards (24 in one-day internationals and another six in T20 internationals) is ahead of all the other greats our country has produced, including Inzamamul Haq (24 awards), Wasim Akram (22), Javed Miandad (19), Mohammad Yousuf (18), Waqar Younis (17), Younis Khan (14) and Imran Khan (13). If that doesn’t convince you of Afridi’s true significance, nothing will.

Afridi is an allrounder. It's much more easier for him to get MOTM awards.

e.g
Pak win the match.
Inzi gets 50. Afridi gets 30 and 2 wickets (or 40 and 1 wicket).

Afridi gets MOTM award.

Then check afridi performances in all mom awards.

Btw op can add another record to afridi tally

Only feww of Pakistani bowlers who took 5 wickets haul in his their first test match.

I think you forgot that he is the greatest player of all time.

Rookie mistake :afridi

Thanks for reminding!

This also reminds me of DM and his replies to Australians, when he said that Afridi is greater than Bradman.

A PP classic!

I think hitting bhajji for four consective sixes is also some kind of a record.

What bout his catches in odi?

There are many cases as well where he deserve and mom were someone else.

Did u mention how he was the first captain to get 3 consecutive 4 wicket hauls in a WC, and how he got the most wickets as a captain in the WC :afridi :afridi

After next wc, he will be the highest wicket taker for Pakistan in worldcups InshALLAH

Man of the match is given to a player who play a match winning role, 30 runs and 2 wickets > 50 runs is no criteria.

Afridi also holds to the record for being a persistent douchebag for the longest period of time and still going strong).

One stat, if it can be somehow tallied, I'd like to see is the success rate he had when he was presented with a situation to win the match for Pak and he delivered. I'd eat my hat and give a full-fledge smooch a 90 yr old grandma if he ranks anywhere close to the top in that ranking.

I would only expect :ibutt to say a sentence like the one which i highlighted in bold

But Wait, ur a relatively new poster :13: Maybe an :afridi hater made a double account to bash :afridi some more...

Remembering good old days when Afridimania was at its peak.

So as of today, does he hold any actual record?

His fastest 50 and 100 runs record has been bettered and i dont think he has made any real record since then.

Other then records pertaining to his longevity in pak cricket i am curious if there are still any personal records on his name

I was planning on writing a piece on Lala this morning so I started messing around with 'statsguru' (on Cricinfo) & I found it incredibly weird that Afridi's previous fastest century record which I had always come to believe was from 37 deliveries was stated to be of 40 balls :98: - is this true? or has cricinfo completely lost it???

I always thought it was a 37 ball century.

Exactly! All throughout my childhood I always believed it was 37 balls as stated by the news and other publications but why is cricinfo reporting it 40 deliveries? Is that a typo or were we literally believing in folklore all this time?

Is there any chance that he dint score for 2 deliveries after getting century and got out the third ball?

it's 37 ball century. he faced total 40 deliveries in that match.

List needs updating -

He is the most successful all rounder in ODI history in terms of runs scored and wickets taken

I think he still has the highest career SR

Highest T20 wicket taker

Highest SR for a Pakistan T20 batsman

Still has the highest number of ODI sixes (79 more than Sanath, 99 more than Gayle)

3rd highest number of 5 wicket hauls in ODIs

Highest MOM awards for a Pakistani, 5th highest overall

^^Maxwell has higher strike rate, I think. Also I would take Jayasuriya over Afridi as an allrounder anyday.

SHAHID AFRIDI ANOTHER RECORD!!!

2nd Best Bowling Figures in ODIS!!!

After Chandimal Vaas 8-for

Best figures for spinner!!!!
