First time India have lost two successive ODIs at home since Dec 2012/Jan 2013 when they lost to Pakistan
Sixth win in seven ODIs in Mohali for Australia; fifth in a row
First time India have lost two successive ODIs at home in the same series since 2012/13 when they lost to Pakistan.

At home they are a force to reckon with as they have those pitches that turn enough for them to keep playing 2 specialist spinners and then having 2 more who can turn their arm around too in their XI.

Pakistan series was very abnormally bowling friendly, especially to the team bowling first. We were unlucky to bat first twice, in one of the games dhoni almost rescued us with a legendary century.

That was a great rearguard effort; very underrated knock as India was 29-5 at one point.

Is that why junaid jamshed made 2 centuries?

I don't remember. They came batting 2nd right?

From what little i remember, India were blown away in early morning spells of swing bowling in first two ODIs.

I have been watching cricket in India since 20 years almost, i have never seen that much swing on offer. Full credit to the skill of Pakistani bowlers for making the most of it. Taking nothing away from their wins. They would have beat us on any types of pitches maybe.

Many Pakistani posters declared it one of the greatest rescue knocks over here. It was one heck of an effort.

1 batting first the other batting 2nd

Didn't they lose 2 consecutive ODIs against South Africa also at home??

Yet PP is worried about the decline of Australian cricket.

No other team is able to beat India in succession in India yet Australia without 4 big players are running them close. Australia looking set for the WC.

It was impressive how Aus combated Kuldeep and Chahal last game, even though there was the dew factor.

Spot on here.

I found it hilarious, only some months ago when a vast number of green tinted armchair critics who held such concerns about Australia going into the WC. According to them they somehow expect Pakistan to finish above them lol.

Australia has the most superior cricket structure and system in place for processing raw professionals into top level calibre, so it comes to no surprise how remarkable well their players handle the big stage when they need it the most.

They are playing like a team on a mission - to defend their hard earned WC for another 4 years.

Australia's decline was overstated. Of course, they will lose matches without their two big players but the fact that the younger blokes still fight out and ready to take the hard yards shows the mental strength of the players.

In tests, India's closest competition will be no other team than Australia once they will have Smith and Warner back.

In ODIs, generally they don't field their best possible XI but they do take WC seriously and I am sure they will be a hard team to beat in the tournament.

India is in a panic mode because of an unsettled middle order. They are trying out different combination in a mad panic. They have nobody but to blame themselves. Treating such a low grade cricketer like Rayadu as a certain starter was a blunder. India lost 2-5 in NZ before 2003 world cup. Entire team struggled on the tough drop-in pitches. Same way Australia got thrashed by NZ in NZ before 2007 world cup. Series before world cups are hardly precursors to what will happen in the world cup. This is why bilateral bullies like SA always get exposed in the world cup.

This.

Add Karthik as well. If ever there was a trash cricketer, these 2 fit the bill perfectly.

A team with Maxwell, Steve Smith, David Warner, Mitchell Starc,Hazelwood, and Cummins isn’t very good according to PP experts but a team who has Sarfraz,Malik, and Hafeez can win the World Cup LOL.

Any day I’ll back this Australian line up to make the semis.

Australia have 4/5 world class players in all formats. Don’t understand why PP overreacted to a few defeats lol.

Yet, Naser Jamshed wrecked it with two hundreds. India were lucky not to be whitewashed due to a typical Pakistani collapse.
