So top of table Arsenal got to the Eithad having won 8 games in a row in PL, up against a Manchester City side who have won 7 and drawn 2 out of their last 9 PL games.

Whilst City's form in big games at eithad has been below there usual high standards they still are unbeaten at Home.

Man city at home this season

Played 14 - won 10 drawn 4

Last season

Played 19 - Won 17 drawn 1 lost 1

Arsenal away record at the Eithad is very poor. Last win there back in 2015.

A very difficult place to win in the PL.
Last season Man city showed the title race was men vs boys at the eithad.

Will it be the same again, or will Arsenal show some backbone and spine this time.

No sitting on the fence with predictions.

I am predicting either a draw or a narrow win for Arsenal.

City seem a tad scratchy and Arsenal are yet to show me that their behind are starting to squeak.

I fear for Arsenal because if they lose this, I don’t know if they will recover mentally.

However, am confident they will give a better account compared to their past visits to the Etihad

City even in this poor shape will devour Arsenal. Its harsh but i feel so.

I don't get the whole City in poor shape? 7 wins, 2 draws in last 9 PL games, 1 point off top.

Most games they are getting job done, they have lost 3 home games in the last 52 games in PL (last 2 season and this one)

From a mental perspective and to give the manager / squad belief they can get past the bottlers tag they need to win at the eithad.

With tough games left at eithad, brighton, spurs, united. Also with Bayern in CL the team needs to show they have mentality to get through end of season pressure.

You look at most successful sides they make statement wins when it's needed.

They are not the Man City of last season, they used to score goals for fun last seen missing this stuff this once.

This time last season Man city hadn't fully clicked into gear and then played Liverpool at this stage of season and hammered them 4-1 (April 1st) and then proceeded to crank up the pressure. City have been there and done it so many times, they know when it's time to peak

Yes I agree they don't look amazing this season, but when they are only 1 point off top and cab still win another trouble it would be foolish to write them off.

Same I was deciding between 2-2 and 1-1

But I think it will be a cagey chess match like game.

Prediction 1-1

If Arsenal want to have belief they can win league. They need to win this game

I think we will be more competitive at the Etihad than we have been in the past. But I have PTSD from the past and its hard for me to see us going there and winning.

I think we can beat them and are good enough to beat them. Just something about City away and OT that I know whatever form we are in we never beat them.

I reckon 2-2 draw. Its a must win for both but if you step back and see Arsenal took 4 points from both Liverpool and City this season that's acceptable. Saying that I WANT TO WIN.

No Bozo moments or red cards or dodgy penalty decisions I hope.

Yeah I am the same on PTSD of past performances there, if we get as many chances as Chelsea, spurs, Liverpool created at Eithad you would think we would be more clinical.

At same time the pressure and expectation will increase on players and manager and this is where the weak Mentality of last 2 seasons has to change.

Last time we won at eithad we had a carzola masterclass in midfield and we would need a similar performance from our midfielders on sunday

Business end of the season.

Arsenal bottled it last season , City came strong.

Very difficult to win at City , for this reason … 3-1

Another master v disciple encounter, Pep vs Arteta there have been many in the past. Arteta needs a positive result to enhance his reputation as he has gradually become an elite PL manager on the path of greats

One Arsene Wenger,
There's only one Arsene Wenger,
There's ony one Arsene Wenger...

Arteta for once will employ correct strategy & go for the 3 points as this is the only option now .

To beat City you have to control the midfield. Liverpool dominated them for 25 mins or so before Pep made changes. KDB will be key , his vision to find the forwards will create numerous chances . Rice & co must step up .

Arsenal much like City & Liverpool play every few days now , having the weakest squad out of the 3 .

Injury free first XI for Arsenal has a chance to take the race to finish line but you injuries are almost certain at this stage .

Looking forward to Woolwich getting skelped by the Citeh.

Hilarious how all Liverpool fans are wanting City to win on Sunday. Looking at City's remain fixtures, there aren't many games you can see them dropping in out of their last fixtures.

Arsenal are an irrelevant challenger according to Liverpool fans, so if City and Liverpool are the supposed two title challengers, hoping for a City win makes no sense

I agree . I would prefer a draw or Arsenal win as they will drop points while City could win all their remaining fixtures.

However predicting this match , it’s hard to see past a City win .

It’s not just Liverpool fans , many now find Arsenal annoyingly arrogant while winning nothing in years . Arteta needs to relax , hammering the bottom clubs means little , beating City away at this stage is when you’re the real deal .

What is your score prediction??

Which Arrogant Arsenal fan are these? Any names?

I gave my prediction of 1-1, I know how difficult Man city are at home, also how at this time of year Man city are a different beast.

Also the Liverpool vs Brighton result will play a big impact on mindset of both sides. If Liverpool win then, i think any loser in the Man City vs Arsenal will find having to close the gap on 2 teams to tough to overcome with only 9 games left.

I think come Sunday evening we will have a big picture of where things are.

I guarantee you a certain troll will come out from his cave to post on here to let us know that we have "zero ball knowledge" if our prediction isn't perfect.

If Arsenal want to have belief they can win league. They need to win this game

I agree.

But honestly, I don't think we can do it with our upcoming fixture congestion.

I'm more optimistic about our chances in the UCL. I see us overcoming Bayern. If that goes to plan, I think the winner of Arsenal v City/Madrid will end up winning the tournament.

I doubt certain posters will make predictions and will sit on fence. Then pretend that they had faith in team winning.

They have already said "they hope they put up a better performance then last few visits" that tells you the zero confidence.

Arsenal have to be brave and clinical on Sunday.

Arsenal's title wins 89, 91, 98, 02, 04 all included important and pivtol away wins at the team that finished 2nd in league.

Sunday is must win for Arsenal somehow.

Beating Liverpool was a great win esp in context but the celebrations were over the top . Since then beating smaller teams comfortably many feel this team & some of their fans are getting carried away .

Brighton are decent but are coming to Anfield at a time the team will be very motivated & with most players fit . 3 points is a near certainty barring any crazy decisions.

A draw g city & lfc will likely sit top for a few matches which may help Arsenal , however pressure of chasing can also be a problem.

Again give me names of anyone getting carried away?

Brighton are unbeaten on their last 3 visits to Anfield, also Liverpool have only beaten Brighton once in last 8 games in all competitions. Yes you are good at home, but it won't be an easy game for you.

Also talking about arrogance have a look at your fellow fans kroll and paklfc for examples of fans running their mouths and getting carried away.

Let me which Arsenal fan has said Sundays game vs man city is easy. As no one has said that

All fans are different, every base has tribal fans , casuals and those who understand the finer details of the sport . I was referring to arsenals celebrations in recent matches , nothing is close to being won yet so some fans from all clubs criticised the over the top theatrics.

Brighton can cause a shock but this season they are weaker at the back , letting 4 in v Luton included . Liverpool with a strong 4 attackers fully fit should score 2 minimum but I think it will be more .

Stones goes off after 5 mins v Belgium. Walker also went off v Brazil . Big boost for Arsenal if both miss out on Sunday .

Kyle Walker and John Stones missed Manchester City training today ahead of Sunday's game against Arsenal, live on Sky Sports.

Ederson, Kevin De Bruyne, Manuel Akanji, Jack Grealish and Matheus Nunes all took part in training.

31st March is also my birthday I couldn't think of a better present then a victory against City at City 😁

They may not ruin your birthday bro

I am keeping everything crossed for a very happy birthday 😂

Family and friends asking what we're doing together for my birthday and I have told them absolutely nothing...
I'll be sat in front of the TV watching the game

Is it a big 1? Normally I'd say eat well before the game as the mood later may mess your appetite up. But it's Ramadan can't even do that.
Happy Birthday all the same

Man City v Arsenal: Mikel Arteta says Pep Guardiola's side at 'levels not seen before'

Premier League leaders Arsenal visit Etihad Stadium on Sunday, with third-placed City one point behind as the title race nears a thrilling climax.

It is the first time in 10 years that only one point separates the top three after 28 games, with Liverpool second.

"It's a massive game for both teams," said Arteta.

"It will give us a massive boost if we win but there is a lot of games to go after that."

Manchester City, bidding for a fourth successive title, have won 12 of their past 13 league matches against Arsenal, with their only defeat a 1-0 loss at Emirates Stadium earlier this season.

City are looking to complete back-to-back Trebles, with a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid and FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea coming up.

"They have raised the bar to levels not seen before in football," said Arteta. "You have to keep up with that pace and that is what we are trying to do.

"We learned from the level, it's the level we want to be at. We are getting closer in the past two or three years. We need to close that gap and try to be better than them.

"They have earned the right for everyone to look at them as an example. It has raised our level and demands to try and be like them and beat them."

They were injured while playing for England.

Arsenal fans are scared of Sundays game lol

This is your best chance to win a football match away to City in nearly a decade , back your team .

So what if they were injured, players can recover from injury.

Also why would I be scared? When I predicted a draw.

When all you Liverpool fans go into hiding when your team underperformed like last season, then suddenly reappear again this season.

The irony of it 🤣🤦‍♂️

We won the same amount of trophies as you did last lesson - zero lol

I hate to break it to you but you’re not the spokesperson for Arsenal fans , many are worried .

Pls keep up Pep has ruled them out for Sunday , the two I mentioned.

Did I say I was an Arsenal spokes person? No i didn't, so stop making assumptions.

Yeah Liverpool and Arsenal won zero trophies last season, difference was I was here all season, you like other Liverpool fan hid like a bunch of fair weather sore losers.

So what if Peps ruled them out, we've seen this mind games before.

Also city still have Akanji, ake and Diaz so stop acting like City will be struggling with some sort of weak defence when they aren't.

Also City have lost 1 out of their last 33 PL games at home, going back to last season, so again this nonsense thar City are their for the taking.

They will have Rodri and KDB. 2 huge players for them playing.

City have won 7 and drawn 2 of their 9 PL this calender year, so not exactly in bad for either, so all this fake pressure on trying to exert saying Arsenal won't have a better chance is a load of nonsense

The business end is causing anxiety lol

Winning silverware is all which matters .

Let’s get back to football now .

We have both predicted a draw . Do you think a draw away to City is a good result for Arsenal or do you need 3 points to win the league?

Of course the business end of season causes anxiety, you telling me all the Liverpool vs City end of season races you sat their not feeling pressure?

The Liverpool vs Brighton result before hand will have a huge factor on how both Arsenal and City look at their game.

Let's say Liverpool win so they are 3 points clear of Arsenal, 4 ahead of City.

Then the game become must not lose for either side. Essentially the loser would have to much ground to make up on the other teams with only 9 games left. So a draw would be a decent result for both.

Psychology, mentally Arsenal have to win at eithad to then believe they can win the title, it will also give them belief they can win at WHL and OT at end of season.

If you want to win a title you need to make a statement win in the run in.

Go back to this time last year (season) and you asked me if Arsenal were title favs and I said no. I said ask me after the Anfield game which was a must win. Again at the time Arsenal needed belief that "hey we won at anfield", so we can do something at eithad. Instead Arsenal threw a 2-0 lead away.

You know as well as anyone to win a title when a team lacks experience, you need a result which gives you belief.

For all Arsenal's "progress" etc.. the end of season pressure issue has not been ticked off, so Arsenal have to win on Sunday.

Match going Arsenal fan for 2 decades. Going tomorrow too, hope we win. How City have changed. Used to have proper support now their ground is full of tourists

Agree .

I think Arsenal should be happy with a point , not losing away to city will give them confidence not to lose any of the other 4 away games which are all tricky .

Enjoy the match .

City fans have been accustomed to winning but tomorrow they will create a good atmosphere as they know this is a huge title game .

Match Day:

My prediction

Manchester City 2-2 Arsenal. Both teams will go for it knowing they could land a huge blow as well as three points.

Woolwich are a genuine threat this season for the title but mamoon went a season too early with his predictions. I think City will have too much for them today though and hopefully they will start falling off and bottle it as usual.

Today is a black day

I can sense Arsenal will get pasted unfortunately

You should be more positive, if you don’t have a better game today compared to past visits, I don’t know if you ever will

Man City v Arsenal

Manchester City make two changes from their FA Cup win over Newcastle a fortnight ago as Kyle Walker, injured on England duty, is replaced by Nathan Ake, while Kevin de Bruyne comes in for Jeremy Doku.

John Stones, who also suffered a knock during the international break, is fit enough for a place among the substitutes but first-choice goalkeeper Ederson remains out with Stefan Ortega continuing to deputise.

Man City XI: Ortega, Akanji, Ruben Dias, Ake, Gvardiol, Rodri, Kovacic, Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne, Foden, Haaland.

Subs: Carson, Stones, Gomez, Lewis, Bobb, Grealish, Doku, Nunes, Alvarez.

Arsenal, meanwhile, make just the one change from their most recent game, the Champions League penalty shootout win against FC Porto on 12 March, as Gabriel Jesus replaces Leandro Trossard up front.

The big news for the Gunners is that Bukayo Saka is fit to start despite the injury scare that forced him to miss England's friendlies against Brazil and Belgium. Gabriel Martinelli, however, is not risked from the start and is among the Arsenal substitutes.

Arsenal XI: Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior, Odegaard, Jorginho, Rice, Saka, Havertz, Jesus.

Subs: Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, Zinchenko, Partey, Smith Rowe, Vieira, Martinelli, Trossard, Nketiah.

Come on Arsenal

How’s the atmosphere in the City end? 😃

Jesus , Havertz up top must put in some serious work to press .

Arsenal cannot concede first . City must play with high intensity.

Will be lovely for Liverpool fans to watch this after a 2-1 win . Over to you now :klopp

I would have preferred Tomiyasu and Partey starting over Kiwior and Jorginho.

Manchester City are missing key defensive players but offensively they are fully equipped and strong. City have the home advantage and experience to see through this game but Arsenal are in form and defensively look solid.

If Arsenal have truly improved and are serious title challengers then they need to come away with points today. Key players need to step up, no excuses. Can’t remember the last time a midfielder / striker scored for Arsenal at Etihad.

I’m predicting a 1-1.

Surprise team from Arteta esp starting Jesus . He may want to go toe to toe early with City . Interesting strategy.

Jorginho has excellent positioning. Rodri & Kovacic will try to be physical & bully him .

A lot of battles in this match

He's gone for Jesus because of work rate. In saying that he is not clinical enough and has wasted a chance already 🙈

Felt Ake was doing well, replaced by Side Show Bob.

Jesus better in the centre imo but might switch later .

City are there for the taking at the back esp after the injury .

Need a goal to liven up this match .

Another good chance wasted by Jesus, can't waste shots like this. Didn't even hit target. 2 chances fluffed.

Really dull affair so far, this is what happens when a match like this is hyped up to the moon.

Not really surprised but media were prattling on that it was going to be explosive blah blah. Guess still plenty of time left.

The deadest atmosphere ever for a so called title decider, City fans are a special piece of work 😅

Any fan with common sense knew this would be a tight game, neither side concede many goals.

The two teams are largely cordial, Arteta will rub baby oil on Pep’s head after the game and give him a massage. There’s no real rivalry here.

Both sets of fans are nervous as are the players it seems . Poor in the final 3rd by both teams . Arsenal need to change something, showing little threat .

City happy to keep the ball , hoping for a killer pass .

Let’s hope second half is more entertaining

Those are Liverpool v city , Arsenal are more measured against city but with 10 games to go , be aggressive, the title is in sight ! Coming 3rd or 4th is no different to coming 2nd .
