He was batting fine and Pakistan seemed to going well and out of nowhere he tamely goes out like that.
 
The biggest mujrim is the person who won the toss and elected to bowl. Everything else is secondary be it drop catches, missed run-outs and misfields. Why elect to bowl first when we are the worst chasing side.Brainless!
 
The main two -
Asif Ali - two dropped catches, and poor fielding in general. Did nothing with the bat either.
Shoaib Malik - Useless in all 3 facets of the game.

Australia should not have gotten to 308, but it was still chase able. So -

Imam ul Haq - threw away a very solid start.
Babar Azam - threw it away after a very good start.
Mohammad Hafeez - threw it away after a good start, getting out to a FULL TOSS off Aaron Finch of all bowlers.

The period where Imam and Hafeez got out was the turning point. We should honestly have cruised to a win from there.
 
Safraz Ahmed because of his failure to finish the job. Target was gettable after Wahab and Hasan's heroic with the bat but Sarfraz as usual the pathetic cricketer he is played selfishly and cowardly to throw away this match.

It was a stupid way to get out when set.
 
I think it was Imam. Had he even scored 75 off 75 , instead of 50 off 75, 20 more runs and aggressive attitude would have changed the situation altogether, would have instilled confidence in others which would have paved way for an easy win. He seems to be playing for his average, which seems highly inflated.

Lol. You clearly didn't watch the match and you followed on CI. When him and Hafeez were together, Pakistan were clearly on top, the RRR was manageable, we had wickets in hand. Even when he got out, the platform was set and the game was in a good position for us. Malik and Asif Ali both got out because of their pathetic techniques against pace bowling. If they got out slogging, then I would understand why people would say it's Imam's fault if they felt like because of him, they needed to get runs, but that wasn't the case. It would be a good idea to actually watch the games then speak, as opposed to following on CI xx
 
Asif, Malik, Sarfraz main culprits and Hafiz + Imam+Babar lesser at fault as they played sensibly and with capability till they played their silly shots to get out.
 
we need to play only reserve players in next all games.
all other will make few 50s and save their skin for next four years against bangla and south africa
lets try all reserve players and drop all oldies and sfarishes . (that will be a lesson for all of them)
 
We were never going to make 337 so the bowlers have to take the blame really...

When you only have one bowler in your team you don't deserve to win...how professional cricketers can't actually pitch a ball up is beyond me...our frontliners got outbowled by India's part timers...only Amir is actually International quality...

i'm not sure if our alternatives would have done much better tbf...this wasn't a bottle job...India are much more talented and much more disciplined...

Hasan Ali shouldn't play for this side again tbf...
 
this is the 2nd match on the trot in which Malik has a huge role in the loss and why he was selected after last match only mikey and biryani know
 
What went wrong for Pakistan in the 2019 World Cup?

So we’re pretty much out of the World Cup bar some results going our way and having to win every match we have left. Might as well start the autopsy of this years World Cup. So what went wrong?
-Lack of a middle order, Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz, Imad, Asif Ali is one of the weakest middle orders I’ve ever seen .
-Lack of a proper Power hitter, Asif Ali was never a solution for our problems and is also going through a tough time so should have opted out himself.
-No Main spinner, Shadab, Hafeez, Malik, Imad is Also just a line up of bits and pieces spinners. No real threat at all.
-Out of form players. Hassan Ali, Shoaib Malik, Shaheen, Asif Ali, Sarfaraz, Harris Sohail. All out of form and not clicking yet selected in the team.
-Useless captain. Lastly I believe sarfaraz should be removed from Captaincy now, he is dead weight in the team and he knows this too. He brings nothing to the team at all so I’m not sure why he’s leading at all.

Inzi and Micky, think tank, a low IQ politician and combining forces with a charlatan posing as a coach sank Pakistan's WC campaign at least two years before it started...

Pakistan's campaign was sabotaged when Inzi employed nepotism and his old protect the friends and co. tactics and Micky's misplaced coaching techniques which were totally out of place in any international side, leave alone Pakistan...
 
You have no quality players you have not invested in your grass root and domestic cricket. Other teams are professionals, and you still rely on wonders like it is 90s cricket is a different sport and like in everything Pakistan is behind in it too.

Nothing will change until we change this.
 
None - the gap is too wide for any individual to be finger pointed.

It’s was just not a contest - batting Amir, none of the PAK bowlers can match Vijay Shanker bowling with new ball, just one example. Apart from Babar, none of the batsmen will make Indian bench. Fielding, fitness, energy & catching are at different cloud (I know about the yoyo situation for both teams - may be like cricket stats, in yoyo also you can bash ZIM reserves, who knows).

Only advantage PAK had over India is that their Captain is better - Kohli has to make the team as player first, PAK Captain makes it on leadership quality.
 
As I had mentioned after Australia game, the chief reason of our defeat was bowling first. This is also true for our yesterday’s game. Everything else is secondary.
 
Management for deciding to field first had we won the toss. Hasan Ali for bowling absolute filth and not allowing pressure to build. Zaman also missed that run out against Sharma and that proved costly as well.
 
Choice of about 9 or 10 versus India at Old Trafford.

Hard to say anyone but Sir Acha Bacha.

0 and 18 (dismissed by the same bowler in the same fashion as years before also).

Defensive captaincy when the opposition has 150 left to chase and are 5 down.

What I HATE more than anything is him smiling as if nothing happened in the post-match interview.
 
Azhar for sure. Batted like tail ender and Captaincy was novice level.

Apart from Azhar, I was disappointed with Shaheen and Babar as well. Babar should have dominated English bowlers in 2nd innings with 107 lead, but he started defensively.

Even Broady got tonked by Yasir.

The pitch simply did not break down as everyone expected.

Broad was slogged by a tail ender with desperate bat swings and it lasted for 2-3 balls. Shaheen was rubbish from ball one in second innings defending 277. In England, on absolute road, still a fast bowler can talk with new ball. I don’t think he troubled batsmen for a single ball and didn’t build any pressure with 3.5+ economy. His only wicket was a gift from the day 4 wicket - must have bumped from a crack.

Yea Iftikhar easily.

Fakhar and Bobby gave Pak. a good start.

Ifti Cha Cha though ruined their momentum at the end, not to mention he bowled poorly as well.
 
Eoin Morgan just simply killed us but I would have to go with Malik in terms of batting he shouldn't be batting in these conditions always tends to fail

Pretty much this really. England are clearly a much superior side (even without half their starting lineup mind you).

Even this England team will beat any team (barring maybe India and Australia) 4/5 teams on English wickets. Scratch that. On most white ball wickets around the world.

Today I learnt in an unfair contest the underdog team manages to notch up 195 and lose in the last over of the game.

That result indeed was flattering - because of the last three wickets for stats and England coasting alone for last few overs. This is a bilateral hence no one bothers for net run rate....

Obviously you have missed to learn that this is an English side missing at least six starters, namely Ben Stokes, Joe Root, Josh Butler, Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Jofra Archer ... we can add Chris Woakes as well for this particular opponent.

And, going the thread related to the series prediction, the result is indeed close, only that the wrong side got the treatment.
 
The batsmen barring that second innings in the first test have done pretty well on this tour. Heck they scored 224 on an extremely green wicket in the second test. The batting has definately punched above its weight in the series.

The bowlers have single handedly cost Pakistan the test series and now the T-20 series. The bowling coach needs to be asked some serious questions once this tour is over.

Geoffrey Boycott would have played faster. It was somewhat embarrassing. This was a track he should have hit a century in 50 balls.

Alex Hales has not been a part of the England team for some time. The last time Joe Root played a T20I for England was May 2019. Chris Woakes is not a first choice T20I player either. Roy, Buttler and Stokes however are definitely missing from their first choice team.

The verdict will be out tomorrow Azhar and Babar strong contenders as our spinners are Street level you can't rely on them they are just darters Sajid had his fluke moment vs Bdesh and is living on it
 
Since the capitulation is on cards we need a review Hassan Ali Fawad Alam Imam the likely candidates
 
To me match ka mujrim is Babar. He is doing a Misbah with Pakistan, and not in a good way as Misbah was atleast good in home tests.

Same approach, same timid batting, same lack of strategic and tactical aggression.
 
Babar is good when Pakistan are batting first or chasing a small/average total.

Not very good when chasing a big total.
 
PSL... Hack-fest in every sense of the word.. Producing one mediocre talent after another... Give me pre-PSL Afridi/Razzaq/Azhar Mehmood anyday over the current lot of Khusdils and Chacha Iftis

Ifthikar consumed dot balls and played almost less than run a ball. He allowed the pressure to build and then forced the other batsman to take risks as soon as they got it. He did the same in the Super 4 game against SL.

What? You forgot about the #T20 batsman, who by the way entered the tournament as #1, Babar Azam.

He couldn't score in double figures for 4 consecutive matches, and his captaincy was a pure joke.

Babar and his captaincy, and pathetic batting batting cost us the game. We lost by 23 runs. This could've been scored in the PP, but no, Pakistan ended up scoring the lowest PP score 37/2, of which 10 were extras..

I see your point. However, I guess I am looking at this match based on who didn't do their job once they got in. Chasing 170, I think Ifthikar had like 20 runs from 28 balls. Apparently Ifthikar is a match finisher.

But agreed it is a collective failure from multiple players. Babar, Fakhar, Khushdil, Ifthikar all responsible.
 
Babar captaincy was shocking
Rizwan and Iftikhar playing like if they were playing in the park.

So Ifti and Shan did exactly the same job but better. Will they change the order going forward?. Shan is technically decent to mitigate moving ball
 
Can't fault Pakistan much when Kohli is having his day. Pakistan choked everyone including Hardik in batting. In their own batting, they recovered well.

My match ka mujrim is Pakistan's think tank - to play Shaheen when half fit was wrong. It hurt them in the match and it told Waseem/Hussnain that a half fit Shaheen is better than a fit and firing back up bowlers.

Overall, I'd take this loss because it went to the last ball. Some gaffe's but that's life.

Exactly, this one can be pinned on the management. They didn't play the best player from the last game - Wasim and went with 5 specialist bowlers when having Wasim in place of Asif or Haider wouldn't have changed anything. India picked on Nawaz and everything they did came off. Babar didn't have a sixth bowler to fall back on and Kohli and Hardik forced Babar's hand by playing aggressive but very smart cricket. You can't blame any of the players because there really isn't much they could have done differently. Virat was sensational. The two sixes he hit off Rauf, I really don't think there is any other batter in the game who could have done that. One of the greatest knocks ever played in a T20. And a classic game, right up there with the 2007 games.

It's brainless to go in with just 3 pacers in Australia especially against an Asian team.

4 pacers is the way to go in Australia.

Would have liked if someone like Michael Clarke was in the Pak think tank cause he knows Australian conditions extremely well and his tactics were innovative yet aggressive.
