The world of cricket is littered with example of cricketing legends that were able to turn the game on its head. Some happen to be from your own country and others do play from across the aisle in the opposition side.

So name any cricketer from any era and belonging to any team that you wished had been a part of your national side.

Ben Stokes.
Babar Azam.
Virat Kohli.
Kusal Perera.
Rohit Sharma.
Shaheen Shah Afridi.
James Anderson.
Stuart Broad.
Jos Butler.
Travis Head.
David Warner.
Trent Boult.
Kagiso Rabada.
Klaasen.
Bumrah.
Tim David.
Pat Cummins.
Starc.

If I have to pick one, I pick Stokes.

You have to pick one,

You can’t have all the great players in the world play for your country

I mean I would love to have any of those players.

But, if I have to pick one, I pick Stokes.

Right now I’ll take Fin Allen

But then knowing Pakistan they will make him bat at number 5 or 7 so that Babar and Rizwan can open the innings

  1. Sanath Jayasuriya. If only to avoid bowling to him on flat wickets in South Asia in the 90s and 00s
  2. Allan Donald, the absolute last and only time I ever was fearful for Sachin facing a bowler.
  3. Neil Johnson. Henry Olongo, Murray Goodwin, Andy flower, Paul strang. Probably could have made Zimbabwe cricket a force to reckon with. Poor lads had their careers wasted away by mugabe’s corruption.

Mohammad Asif. If only he played for Pakistan for real.

From the playing cricketers, Ben Stokes without a doubt.
Steven Smith and Cummins would also have been nice.

From the past, hard to pick one, there are so many, but Brian Lara's game would have suited us.

Virender Sehwag. He would have no issues adjusting to our team culture. And everyone knows what he is capable with the bat.

Mohammad Asif. If only he played for Pakistan for real.
Still not sure whether he would have been effective at all in the later part of his career.
Adam Gilchrist, completely changed the way the game is played.
If not him, then shane warne
Loved the batting of Gilli more in Tests than in ODI he used to come at 7 with a mission of absolute carnage of the opposition.

Imran Tahir.

He should had been our player with a long career with us. A fantastic bowler that we allowed to go away.

Than as for keepers, Brad Haddin. He was a very good keeper. I grew up watching Kamran keep wickets, and it was the worst thing ever. Haddin couldnt get into his team due to Gilly, plus Haddin used to play well in the upper order.

Pat Cummins. A great captain, a great test bowler and a #8. All the problems that India has will be solved in one go.

Ben Stokes, Pat Cummins or MS Dhoni. We've lacked a leader. Someone who can lead from the front, be aggressive, and make the guys around them better. All that while being proper themselves with their game. This is the kind of cricketer that Pakistan has lacked for a long long time. That is one of the reasons why India, England and Australia have always been so successful. They have consistently gotten people like this. Also due to their professionalism and proper infrastructure where these people are born from

Out of all the keeper batsmen to ever exist, you chose Haddin. You could’ve taken Gilchrist but chose the much worse option.

Dream bigger.

Wasim Akram

A left arm quick who can bat, opening the bowling with Bumrah and followed up by Shami would have made the current Indian team as good as I could imagine

Michael Bevan, my all time favorite cricketer. Young fans of this generation will never know how cluch he was as a batsman.

He would have picked misbah if he didn't play for Pakistan so Brad Haddin is not bad in the context.

That was a good performance, but the bowlers did the job. Again, someone who lost 4 wc finals can't be called a clutch player.
Aravinda de silva was a clutch player
Bro he also made 54(52) that too against Australia in WC 2007 final. I think you were not familiar with it.

In recent times I would have loved to have had a Rashid Khan or Shamar Joseph! Proper battlers with the talent but also the game smarts and the 100% strong and dedicated mentality to fight till the very end. Stokes and Cummins were too obvious as choices I guess.

Imagine we have Nawaz still consistently getting into our bunch which is kind of unreal when you think about it.

Shamar Joseph would have been really phenomenal alongside Naseem Shah.

My pick is Brett Lee.

What a sight it would have been when both Shoaib and Lee were bowling for Pakistan from both ends.

total destruction!

Also the good thing about Brett Lee was that he was a decent lower order batsman besides great pacer.

Definitely Adam Gilchrist!

He would have caught better then Kamran akmal, given us a hard hitting batsman in tests and an opener in one day internationals….

Brian Lara. Classy and stylish batter who dismantled many bowlers in their home and away conditions that too in their prime.

Waqar Yunus (89-96 version). Srinath would have been completely different bowler bowling along side him.

In past, viv sachin with paks bowling would ve been amazing.

Modern times i d choose someone like jadeja or stokes as we lack allrounders

Mathew Hayden as opener in tests.
Gilly as WK in all formats
Klusener as AR in LOIs
Flintoff as AR in tests.
McGrath as bowler in all formats.

He was the first that came to my mind too.
Saeed Anwar and Gilchrist would have been fun to watch.
Anwar is an artist and gilly is a completely opposite brute power station. I am not sure about the combo,it will reduce the appreciation for the talented artist

of recent players, last ten years

tests ashwin
t20i maxwell

of all time (or at least since i been watching)

tests brian lara
odis ms dhoni

Rashid Khan at the moment. If we had him we would bundle out teams for less than 130. I haven't seen any spinner be so threatening and being treated with such respect every single game.

Batter: Ab de villiers
Bowler: Rangana Herath or Muralidharan from last decade because Pakistan is missing a genuine spin option since Saeed Ajmal. and Bumrah (from current bowlers).

Adam Gilchrist from past.
Travis Head among current players. Just no fear of failure and zero love for statpadding.

Wasim Akram - Imagine him and Sachin playing for the same team.
Sanath Jayasuriya - Destructive batter, and a decent spinner.
Viv Richards - Loved his swag which Indian team of 80s needed a lot.
In modern times. Patrick Cummins - Great leader, bowler, and a decent no. 8. As @Ab Fan said all our problems would have been solved.

Honorable mention - Shoiab Akhtar, he would have been the most hyped cricketer in India.

Considering the issues in our spin department, I think Rashid Khan would be the one guy who will be on the top for me to pick.
