Win win situation for Misbah. If we loose to S Africa or Zimbabwe, Misbah and his puppet will blame M Wasim for bad selections, if we win Misbah will take the credit.
Also, brother [MENTION=131701]Mamoon[/MENTION] earlier blamed Misbah for selection of certain players like Wahab, Malik, Iftikhar, Imran Khan Sr., Sohail Khan, Shehzad... but now when these players are kicked out with some potential players then still blaming M Wasim. Those new players may turn out to be decent if chances (no need to be World beater or compare with top 4 teams) are given otherwise we have to recall Miandad, Amir Sohail, Wasim Akram, Inzamam..

Also, M Akram already refused to take CS job knowing that he cannot have free hand to pick players, and if M Wasim loose his job due to this Babar stupidity then leeches and yesman like Mohsin, Intikhab, Iqbal Qasim...will return in PCB.Ultimately Pakistan Cricket will suffer where leeches have blood-feast.

What people want? Stay in 2011 or move to 2021?

You should thank babar for bringing back Hafeez. When the fans and pcb wanted him gone it was Babar who came out and supported him in public. Otherwise we know where this team stands. Babar was probably right about Malik as well.

You already have youngsters in the team who are not even settled yet. First let them perform before you bring in random players based on couple of performances.

To top it off, Rauf, who is struggling in T20s, his best format, suddenly finds a place in all formats. Asif ali, Shadab Khan, and few others continue to get selected without any performance. While a player like Harris who has been the best ODI player gets dropped.

I don't dislike the overall selection but some brainless decisions stand out and the selector's attitude is another issue. You can't ignore the captain and not attend his calls. He needs to understand that before it's too late for him.

Is Babar Azam being Manipulated by Misbah ul Haq?

It is clear only one person genuinely benefits from a rift between the captain and chief selector. Babar doesn’t strike me as the sort of bloke who would go out of his way to get involved in such spats, with Misbah working more closely with Babar in recent times it seems to me he may have managed to influenced Babar’s personality to a degree.

In fact Babar as a personality was once considered timid, who has managed to pull his strings to this degree? Misbah to me seems to be the prime suspect, regardless it’s not great to see Pakistan cricket in this state.

Why can’t everyone just do their jobs and be professional ?

I think any captain will be peeved if the chief selector doesn't even answer his calls and says clearly that his inputs are not required and its not his job. Can you tell me a single captain, current or in history, from any team, who will tolerate this? Why would anyone need his strings pulled to be upset? It was an obvious insult

Plus comparing him players like Kohli, Root, Willamson, Smith makes him think bigger than his ability. He is never as good as those player either in terms of talent or skill. Thank To PCB for appointing M Wasim, atleast he is following Indian selection policy here, allowing enough youngsters to come to the stage and see what they can do and then he can weigh his options for the T20 WC.

Babar should just keep his mouth shut and play the playing 11. He need to cement his position as a leader first before becoming or acting like Imran Khan. Bache pehle badi teams ko tu haroa phir dekhte hain, Kohli ne team banai hai, aur ab woh jo marzi kare, pehle uske level tak pohancho.

Completely agree. Normally chief selectors would not dare speak so dismissively to team captains. Babar falls into the signficant minority who seemingly do not command respect (nothing wrong with this, it's just his personality). Thus Mo. Wasim thinks he can bulldoze Babar and we have the resulting debacle laid out in front of us.

When he is given SUPER STARS batsmen who can't last more than 5 balls and bowlers who are creating worst bowling records in the world and getting smashed by u19 kids, then he is right to call out these 5 or so performances based selections. Heck it takes even 1or 2 performances to get in the Pakistan team.

I don't see him making a big fuss, he will just get on with things. The worst I could see him doing is quitting captaincy.

lol this team loses tours after tours year after years with their so called "senior" and "experienced" players who have been playing for Pakistan forever while not achieving a lot but hey god forbid, if they give some younger players a chance especially on a tour vs Zimbabwe.

Wasim should completely disregard it. A captain should have no say in the selection process anyways. A captain job is to lead the team on the field. A selector's job is to select the team. Babar is playing International cricket all the time anyways, how would he know who is good in domestic or not so it is not surprising he would favor players he knows over the ones he doesn't.
