Mumbai Indians defeat Chennai Super Kings by one run to win IPL title

184 for us.

But i reckon RR have enough firepower to chase this down.

This year, my team is probably RR - balanced T20 team with clutch batsmen; as Captain Rahne is also better than Kohli.

Rahane is decent captain and he has Smith to help but RR will lose almost all its overseas players at business end of the tournament.

Bush league.

Trash cricket. Ashwin low brow.

I don't care about the rules and all that, that's nonsense.

That's clever from Ashwin! Great tactics! This Butler lad did this a ton of times during the recent ind vs eng series too and the Kulcha duds never had brains to use this tactic.

Ashwin cheated & deserves all the criticism.
With this way you can get almost every batsmen out because you are doing it deliberately via faking delivery stride and pause for moment so that batsman gets out of crease & you can mankad him.

Icc Should look to upgrade the rule.

Great comeback by Punjab. But it is a shame the way they got back into the game was against the spirit of the game.

Or batsmen in future will start walking/running AFTER a delivery is bowled.

Why not put them tad behind umpire so that this unfair run stealing argument gets over & both bowler and batsman take off at same time towards bowling crease.

Batsman is free to steal a run like we are used to. Its just that he will have take a risk doing so now. Like all run scoring he will have to weight in risk and reward.

Delhi Capitals vs Chennai Super Kings, 5th Match

I didn't know that - and they have lost their first game with full squad; may be not then. Somehow, MSD gets it done in IPL - even today restricted DC for 147/6, before anyone could notice that overs have run out!!!

OK - I'll back the serial "elimination" dodger - Delhi; let the name change work. They, themselves couldn't dare the devil, now has gone back to Capital.

Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata & RR then ...... (It might happen 3 of the 4 will miss out to Mumbai, Punjab & CSK. Sadly, no luck for Kohli .....)

Despite being MI fan, I always have had soft spot for Delhi. I identify so much with their underachieving ways. :)

Ohhh Ishant, Watson is a guest in your country. You don't treat him like that. :P

Rayudu's LOI career is coming to an end! Hope Vijay Shankar makes #4 his own with more consistent all-round performances!

For those who are missing test matches ,this match is a treat.Thala dhoni taking an already won match to last over, and his fans will start jumping when he hits a six (completely forgetting that he batted at str rate of 90 in ipl)

Csk won thanks to bravo but Dhoni tried his best to to keep delhi in the game till last over.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is almost becoming Misba UlHaq. This guy is going to cost atleast a couple of games.

Sri Lanka Cricket allows Lasith Malinga to play for Mumbai in Indian T20 League

Sri Lanka Cricket on Tuesday decided “to give permission” to Lasith Malinga to feature in the ongoing edition of the Indian T20 League.

The Sri Lankan limited-overs captain, who plays for the Mumbai franchise, did not play their opening game. Rishabh Pant’s unbeaten 78 off 27 balls powered Delhi to a 37-run win against the Rohit Sharma-led side on Sunday.

“Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) decided to give permission to Mr. Lasith Malinga to play in the ongoing IPL tournament,” said SLC in a media release.

Earlier, SLC made it a requirement for its players to appear in Super Provincial One Day domestic tournament to be eligible for World Cup selection.

The dates of the same were clashing with the cash-rich league in India.

However, SLC reversed their decision and allowed Malinga to play in the league.

“The management decided to release Malinga from participating in the Super Provincial One Day Tournament; since he would get an opportunity to play with much stronger opposition in the IPL tournament; which consist of international players,” added SLC.

Mumbai coach and Malinga’s former teammate Mahela Jayawardene said that the team was not made aware of Malinga’s unavailability.

“We need to gather our thoughts and see,” Jayawardene had told reporters in Mumbai on Sunday.

“If you read the entire thing, the tournament is for four or five days in April, so till that time there’s availability. When we got him in the auction, SLC gave us his availability schedule, that tournament wasn’t part of that. So, there is a conversation to be made and once we get through that conversation we’ll let you know. It’s way too early for us to comment on whether he’s going to be unavailable or whatever. We’ll see what happens.”

Alzarri Joseph replaces injured Adam Milne in Mumbai squad

Mumbai have replaced the injured Adam Milne with West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph for the rest of the Indian T20 League. The New Zealand pacer Milne, who previously played for Bangalore, was signed by Mumbai at the auction for INR 75 lakhs, but pulled out of the league owing to a sore heel.

“Mumbai Indians have picked Alzarri Joseph as a replacement for the injured fast bowler Adam Milne for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019,” read a statement from the T20 League on Thursday. (ALSO READ: Bangalore vs Mumbai: What can we expect from Kohli and Rohit?)

Joseph, who has featured in nine Tests and 16 One-Day Internationals for the West Indies so far, will play in his maiden T20 League this season. The 22-year-old has been in exceptional form in the Test series against England where he picked 10 wickets in three matches.

In Twenty20s, Joseph has featured in just seven T20s in which he has scalped nine wickets. His best registered his best T20 figures of 4 for 41 against St. Lucia Zouks during the Caribbean Premier League 2016.

According to the rules, the amount a franchise can pay the replacement player cannot exceed that paid to the original player. So, any player that replaces Milne cannot be paid over INR 75 lakhs.

Joseph’s arrival bodes well for the Rohit Sharma-led side who were also boosted with the arrival of Sri Lanka veteran Lasith Malinga, who was initially supposed to miss the first six matches of the tournament due to ICC World Cup 2019 preparations.
Mumbai, who lost their opening home match against Delhi, face Bangalore in their second game on Thursday.

RCB pathetic year after year. You cannot win a tournament with a poor bowling side. Only Chahal is decent.

Saini/Siraj/CDG/Umesh are not going to do it.
