Mumbai Indians defeat Chennai Super Kings by one run to win IPL title

This is why he is the preferred all rounder in the team. Something the likes of Shankar cannot do. When you need that super acceleration, you need Pandya.

Shankar is different type of player. Always has been. Both can play for us in all formats

Shankar is a middle order player. Not a finisher. Big hitting is not his forte.

It should not be a choice between Shankar and Pandya. Shankar should be competing with Kedar Jadhav.

Shankar can play at 4 in ODI's and t20.

And if he does well play anywhere in middle order in tests. No more tailunt Sharma in tests please.

Heard KP say something good about the PSL in the last over. He said that the bowling is of high quality in the PSL.

^ That was one of the best IPL games I've watched in a while .. AB and Kohlli chasing vs Malinga and Bumrah !

Good match.. AB played well. It's first time I can think of AB staying not out and his team losing a match. Top class bowling from Bumrah as well. Good win for MI.

Virat Kohli furiously criticised the umpires after his Royal Challengers Bangalore side lost to Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.

With RCB needing six from the last ball to tie, Lasith Malinga bowled a dot ball, but replays showed it should have been a no-ball as he overstepped.

Had the no-ball been seen by the umpires, the ball would have been bowled again as a free hit.

"We are playing IPL not club cricket," India captain Kohli said.

"It is a ridiculous call. The umpires should have their eyes open.

"It is a game of margins. They should have been more sharp and more careful there."

The no-ball was only seen after the players had left the field with the replay resulting in loud boos from the home crowd when it was shown on the screens at ground.

Had it been given RCB would have been awarded one run for the no-ball and would then have been able to win with six on the final delivery, rather than tie which would have resulted in a Super Over.

South African AB de Villiers had given Royal Challengers hope in their chase of 188 with a brilliant 70 not out from 41 balls which included six sixes.

Kohli was out for 46 in the 14th over while England all-rounder Moeen Ali, who opened for RCB, was run out for 13.

Bumrah and Malinga take care of the minnows.

I think its burning for you... RCB is the real blockbuster team whether it wins or loses! The most colorful team and most colorful stadium/fan-following! On top of that they play fair and are not indulged into non-sense! We fans have expressed our disappointment & frustration from time to time, but that doesn't mean we should hear stupid things!

Your team has never won fair play award in ipl so don't lie and cheat like your kaptaan.

What's stupid about calling rcb minnows? Compared to us(MI), it is a super minnow!

Rcb fans are great. But their team doesn't deserve their support.

That’s hilarious.

The last ever Ashes Test broadcast free-to-Air in the UK was the 2005 Oval Test, with the final session watched by 8.4 million of the UK’s then-population of 59 million.

A Test Match. During the Day. When people were at work.

And IPL gets 11.2 million out of 1 billion?

ROFL!

Fair enough.

I live in Australia, where nobody watches IPL because there is no interest or respect for it, largely because of the withering mockery of it that Aussie players in IPL pass on to their friends and family. They love the money, but have little other than contempt for the actual cricket.

Sport talkback Radio is starting to move on to rugby league and AFL now. It’s that time of year. But there have been pointed comments about Kohli whingeing about a
No-ball yesterday in an IPL match when the Sheffield Shield Final is taking place in Melbourne between Victoria and New South Wales and is a much more complex and demanding game.

Also hotstar is just people watching live streaming. It does not include live TV broadcast viewers.

Do you watch IPL?

Nah. Shankar should be competing with Ambati ‘Biryani’ Rayudu for the no.4 spot. Pandya at 7 is a must.

He is a better bowler than Shankar and can also provide the finishing touches.

Shankar though is the better batsman. More solid with good technique and temperament.

Jadhav could be an asset especially for his part time spin. Ideally, had Pant been given enough chances, Pant would have come good by now. With Shankar ready to do 6th bowlers job, Jhadhav’s role as the 6th bowlers is not as critical.

Another lie. The record for most online concurrent online views is held by Hotstar for a IPL match.

Nobody watches IPL but Fox sports buys the rights.

Lol. Stop lying.

Hmmm....interesting bud. Looking at the barrage of Aussie representation one would presume the interest level will be higher. For example, here in Britain...people do watch and admire IPL. Few of my co workers are still miffed about Ashwin mankanding Butler.

Juniads hates Indian cricket with the same passion that trump hates truth and both really don't care about the facts. Whatever he says the opposite is more likely to be the truth.

Why nobody is calling the umpire in RCB match who failed to call a no ball a cheat? I remembered when a BD umpire made a no ball error all hell broke in PP.

BTW I actually want 3rd monitors no ball thing.. with today's technology they can spot it can call it on time.. anyways they don't have much things to do..

Vijay Shankar on fire.. 27 off 11 deliveries so far.. RR has worst bowling line up BTW.. even worse than rcb's

BTW poor captaincy by Rahane... only jofra is threatening and they saved him for death (when match already over..).

Shankar gone.. can RR pull it back.. 34 needed from 27 deliveries.. jofra had 2 overs left.. 2 out of form batsman, Pandey and Yousuf in the crease.. will be tight I guess..

SRH need to play Abhishek Sharma instead of Nadeem. And Khaleel for Sandeep Sharma.

His batting hurt them far more than his captaincy, they really need to drop Smith since they have a weird lovein with stokes. Really need to improve the bowling, their Indian contingent is down right filth

KXIP vs MI, 9th Match, Indian Premier League 2019

Punjab opt to bowl

Teams:

Mumbai Indians (Playing XI): Quinton de Kock(w), Rohit Sharma(c), Suryakumar Yadav, Yuvraj Singh, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga

Kings XI Punjab (Playing XI): Lokesh Rahul(w), Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller, Mandeep Singh, Hardus Viljoen, Ravichandran Ashwin(c), Murugan Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Andrew Tye

KL Rahul has regressed so much that he might find it difficult to keep his place even in IPL team... So much out of his mind! Need to just calm down and take it easy (even Hacks found their way in IPL)

Anyways its a good chase... Mayank made all the difference! Good that KL stayed there without throwing away his wicket! This is how he should bat even in International Matches! He should not try to match anybody, just be ready to even play secondary role! He will flow automatically later on once he is cemented his place in the team firmly!

Yuvraj and Pollard has cost us thus match. How many more matched will we sacrifice to find right eleven from the squad. :(

I remember in one of the older IPL season (when RCB reached finals) Rahul was not opening in all the matches (he had a successful season still) Wonder Kohli showed stupidity in his captaincy way back then! He was opening himself or trying someone else (Travis Head or worn out Dilshan perhaps!) instead of seeing Rahul as a potential all format opener (even for Indian team!)

By now we would have found a good solution (if not for RCB but for Indian team) to Rahul's career and India's loophole in Tests (opening)! Rahul would have gained confidence like many others who utilized IPL as a good platform to strengthen their International Game (Bumrah, Ashwin, Pandya, Pant, etc)

That also started to affect on Kohli and led to decline of Kohli's chasing efficiency in International Matches! Kohli got too frustrated, obsessed & drained out with IPL Captaincy!

100 up for KKR , they need to target 40 runs in last 6 , maybe a little more if Russell is at the crease

Russell is the West Indian Symonds. One of the ugliest but most brutal batsman when on song.
