Mumbai Indians defeat Chennai Super Kings by one run to win IPL title

He is much better than Unadkat. How this Unadkat guy gets picked up for so much money?

Agreed. Unadkat is probably even more mediocre. Its a mystery why teams spend so much money to acquire these bozos.

We need to drop Yuvi. I love the man but he has slowed down. Bat speed is not what it used to be and there no real passion left. Bring in Ishan Kishan. It also opens up possibility of dropping QdK for Lewis.
Mumbai should keep Yuvi. Release Ishan Kishan so he gets to play for a team he'd be a regular for.

If MSD can win from this situation, I will take my hat off to him. He has never chased when the RRR is over 8 and he had to score over 150 runs. Any great finisher will take the team to the win.

I will be more accepting of his methods if he wins it from here in these conditions. It will be hard even with dew helping.

Dhoni has chased before, but I have never seen him so it when the RRR is over 8. Its usually 6 or around that when he chases while tuk tuking.

This is the type of pitch most common outside subcontinent. Where you can't just ignore the bounce of a pacer.

Not playing Ishan Kishan is stupid. Should be let go to play for a team that needs a good Indian batsman.

I heard he is being punished for some disciplinary reasons. And MI needs him in future. Best six hitter among youngsters after Pant.

This Delhi Capitals is one piece of junk with a bunch of over-rated Indian youngta beauties! Lol at those posters who wanted the hacks Shaw and Pant in the WC19 playing XI. Pant will definitely win the matches for the opposition by leaking the runs behind the stumps and drop chances. And that Shaw is another overrated wannabe Superstar with limited range of shots and absolutely no game awareness. India's future looks doomed with these good-for-nothing hacks!

They have beefed up coaching staff but I think that the team selection is not good.

Delhi have got two quick wickets but they are like 25 runs short here. Few more runs they could have put pressure on opposition .

40 from 48 balls.

Sunrisers will be cruising along here. A couple of quick wickets here can bring some interest back in the game.

Rabada has one over . That will be key ... but will he have enough to defend ... thst is the main question.

DELHI 129/8 (20.0)
HYDERABAD 131/5 (18.3) CRR: 7.08
Hyderabad won by 5 wkts

This is why IPL performances mean nothing. Someone like bairstow who looks like a million dollars in this IPL is extremely inconsistent in the longer formats at international level.

Bumrah, Pandya, Ashwin, Chahal, Pant (who contributed in Test overseas win in Australia + Test overseas draw in England) are all products of IPL. Otherwise they would have taken ages to get into Indian team & find their feet...! (And before they could stabilize themselves, they would have lost their way!)

Disagree. IPL is not where they developed the majority of their skills. Most of it was developed playing club and Ranji cricket.

IPL is what allowed these players to come to focus and get a chance to knock the doors of the Indian team.

Most of Pant's development happened playing for Delhi and under Dravid. Same for Gill and Ashwin.

Not saying IPL is not important, but it cannot be the only aspect to measure a player. Its one of the measures which helps evaluate and develop players temperament.

Never said IPL gave them skills, but gave them the right platform and confidence.... (Forget Ranji or their coaching school, They might have got raw skills instantly by watching Sachin bat, Wasim bowl, Warne bowl, etc at the age of 5 watching Television...! That's not the issue) But they didn't waste their skills & got lost like Praveen Amre, Hrishikesh Kanitkar, etc...

RamLakhan Ji, I would like to know more about that drawn test in England where Pant contributed. I won't mind if you share the scorecard of that test match here. Thanks in advance. :inti

Your comment doesn't make any sense . for Bairstow who averages 46 at 105 Sr in longer format you are talking about . which is better than lots of consistent players in the world. Bairstow with or without ipl is class limited overs player & is among top opening batsmen currently.

IPL does give some indication! It is not an useless league! Kohli's loopholes in captaincy is completely exposed in IPL. Give him a poor Indian side (without Bumrah, Rohit, Kuldeep...) he will reduce Indian team also to RCB...! It will also affect his batting, like he failed to concentrate on a googly bowled by a new leggie with many things going around his head...

Looks like RCB is confused with their batting strength, Kohli is shuffling between 2-3 and the other two batsmen (AB & Hetmyer) are also shuffling. Ideally they should maintain a top 4 of PP, VK, AB, SH.

They might have got a start here (still not sure if this carries on), but definitely they will struggle against good bowling units/pitches with this lineup!

On papers, one of the best teams of IPL, at least a top 4 spot should be taken granted, but Kohli failed to inspire his team. Their bowling is also decent.

Their bowling apart from chahal is more suitable for tests.

KKR main issue is that they are a batsman short in the middle order. If they had invested in one more batsmen it would have been good.

Still an attack of Chahal, Saini, CDG/Stoinis, Umesh, Siraj & Ali backed by that batting line-up shouldn't lose 0-4 so far.
