Fizz would've been benched had he played for any other country besides BD.. 1-183 is a complete joke, considering he's your top line bowling attack leader.. the truth is Amir wasn't benched, and when he was played, he performed and won the match in BEAUTIFUL WONDERFUL passion and fashion.. A Pak Passion from the '90s.. Can your Fizz do anything like that. Stick to directly answering this time. No bluffing or twisting. Ok?

The top two are correct while the third is on his way. The last two are done and dusted at the international level.

Yea, one of them is most of the most feared pacers in the world. One of them is the highest wicket taker of CT 17. One of them bowled against England on debut, much better than your top of line bowler (Fizz).. other 2 don't even play and haven't played for a year(s), I don't even know why you included them.

Fizz is a world class bowler but he is a first change bowler like Hassan Ali. If Bangladesh can find a couple of bowlers who can bowl decent up front. We would see the true ability of Fizz. It's unfair to compare Fizz to Amir. Amir is one of a generation bowler who has the potential to be one of the all time greats. You could see that from his bowling without looking at any stats.
 
Fizz.. hehe. Reminds me someone else.. Riaz. At least Riaz has class and quality on some days.
 
My fellow BD fans are being silly. Fizz is a demon at home but has grossly failed overseas. Amir won his country the CT - we were laughing at #8 side before the cup and yet they won it and we did nothing bar 1 great game.

That's correct. Nobody is disputing that. Bangla has played miserably in the CT but we should also keep couple of important points in mind. Bangla was quite unlucky with their tosses and lost all of them barring one.

This has been a win toss to win match type tournament where the only exception was the final. Bangla would've performed a lot better had they won most of their tosses.

It's not an excuse. He performed poorly and deserves to be criticized for doing so. Starc also underperformed. The issue I was trying to raise was that game-changers like Starc and Amir need a real pressure situation for them to play at their best.

An out of form Mustafizur won't perform even at home.An inform Mustafizur will also perform in abroad.He needs time to recover from injury.He is very young.He will mature more with age.Just give time to this talented lad.
 
Honestly, Mustafizur Rahman is not even the best bowler in his own team, let alone being worthy of being compared to Mohammad Amir.

That being said however, I absolutely adore the bloke for completely annihilating an over hyped, Indian team in his debut series. The guy gave annihilation a new meaning. Two 5fers in your debut series against the world's "best" team is no mean feat and because of that, he will always have a soft spot in my heart.

To be honest, he's very talented and I can see him making an astounding comeback because he's very young and has pace/swing. Just hope the BCB can manage him well because they've failed thus far.

Hahahaaha man. this is hilarious. The day this Fizz dude gets some world class batsmen out let me know. Maybe I'll take him seriously if he bowls outside Bangladesh. Maybe I'll take him seriously when the majority of his wickets don't come against Zimbabwe or Sri Lanka. Maybe I'll take him seriously once he performs on the big stage. Where was this "better than Amir" bowler in the semi final?
 
I'm a Pakistani fan and I believe fizz is an extremely talented bowler but he is out of form people here are too harsh on him n just writing him off to which I don't agree but I want to raise a point which no-one else has raised so far.

Have u noticed fizz bowling action?it certainly looks different than his action at debut. Has his action been changed by the coach? I think along with the injuries it's the wrong coaching which contributed in his decline

If he was not fully fit post injury, he would not play. Fizz is a bolod. Taskin is the gem in our line up.
 
Would just like to say that mr Fish has had a career similar to Junaid Khan pre 2014...Destroyed an overrated Indian line up, was in good form and was one of the best middle over bowlers in the world and then failed miserable in the CT 2017.

I think Fizz v JK is a better comparison...atm tho, Fizz seems an identical, seamer version of Ajantha Mendis who also destroyed an overrated Indian line up :))

Yet all pakistanis wanted to throw him out since long time and none BD fan ever wanted to do that and a lot pak fan praises fizz too. Fizz has been quality since his debut till IPL and injury time. Keep look at the discussion when fizz debuted.

Lol Junaid during 2012-2014 was a gun 145 kph bowler who would seam and reverse at pace with his eyes closed. His knees, which got destroyed due to PCB ineptness, were the reason he had to roam in the wilderness for 3 years making come backs prematurely at every nook and corner.

Come and talk to me when 'The Fizz' actually wins Bangladesh bilateral series in India and South Africa or wins his team any One day bilateral series away from home. If this Bangladeshi bowler would've played half his games on tracks that Junaid has accomplished over the years, the kid would be averaging near 50......

At one point in time, Junaid had overtaken Steyn (YES GO LOOK IT UP), as the premier pacer in the world - that's how good he was during is pomp while even after all of the hoopla that has happened with him the lad's still 26-27. Inshallah he will only improve from here on wards !!

Junaid not only had his knees destroyed by the PCB he also lost a child during that time. Most people would have given up on life at that point, but not Junaid he worked hard and kept at it and eventually became instrumental part of Pakistan's first major tournament victory in 25 years while bagging the third highest wickets in the tournament.


You gotta admire the tenacity and never-say-die attitude of the man. I hope Juni has a long and fulfilling career and shuts up all these arm chair experts.
 
This thread has become a Fizz bashing thread. Guy came from injury and is struggling and so far there has been no respite. And believe me so far he has yet to bowl in a sporty wicket in an ODI for a long time. It's been flat flat flat 300+ wickets all the way. True other bowlers have gone through similar conditions.

Fitness, conditions, learning to bowl on away wickets all in all it was not going to be easy for the fizz. He can and will improve over the years

I've probably been his biggest supporter ever since I saw him bowl at the death for Lancashire and this was a good 2 years before he went into that golden phase of his. Watching him bowl those reverse swinging yorkers at 20 years old I realized that Junaid had this unique fighting spirit that epitomizes the Pakistani Fast Bowling culture and I just knew in the bottom of my heart that this lad was destined for greatness !! Alhamdulliah 7 years down the road Junaid has helped us:

1) Win an away LOI Bilateral series in India
2) A LOI Bilateral Series in South Africa (The only Asian Team to do so)
3) A God Damn Champions Trophy
4) Helped us keep our fort together unscratced against a very good Sri Lanka side (Having Sanga and Mahela in their primes)
5) Took the mantle of the leader of the attack shortly after Amir was banned and made an extremely a gun bowling pair, for a good two years, with Irfan during 2012-2014
6) Made Kohli look like a proper tailender :ma

Plus those epic celebrations :junaid

Dude this isn't the Dhaka league that's been analyzed here, It's freaking international cricket and these players are representing their country to win an ICC event. If you don't want people having a go at Fizz then please stop comparing him with leading pacemen around the world and stake claim as the lad is as good as XYZ because he averages a certain number xx.xx (we all know how that average was actually achieved).

You're trying to cop out of something your fellow country men have been spewing for the last 2 years, ever since that manufactured golden run you lot had during 2015. You played against teams that were going through transitions and 90% of your folks started chest thumping on those fluke wins. Now when all the said opponents have settled down and are coming at you, full throttle you wanna wiggle out by crying foul and saying that we are bashing your players.....Lol give me a break :)) :))

If you wanna be part of the big boys league, learn to take criticism and carry on. I don't see South African posters getting their knickers in a twist when everyone calls on them with the choker tag ?? They don't react because they know that this is one of their teams deficiency over the years and they accept the criticism.

I'm well aware, I felt bad for all the bengys who are sad that Mustafizur isn't the ATG he was originally touted to be so I thought maybe lessening to comparison to Junaid Khan is better as Amirs ceiling is much higher than both JK and mr goldfish

Junaid the test bowler was even better during that period, would guarantee a 5fer every test series on dead Asian wickets. Altho he was not a 145kph bowler ever lol, only on effort balls like those to Hashim Amla that won Pak the series in SA...same pace as current Hasan Ali.

I've seen Junaid Clock 147-148 during that period bro and his average was always around 140-141ish mark. Especially check the speed counters for the Ane Do and the SA series. I am quite certain of it......

Anyways, even with Junaid it's a Moot comparison as Junaid can reverse and seam the ball with great effect, something the Fizz has no clue on how to do it lol :)) :))
 
Musta Rehman is badly out of form. But comparing him to Junaid khan is not appropriate.

I have a feeling Rehman will bounce back and silence his critics.

yeah that's what I meant. He was regular 140kph and effort bals of 145+ but the fastest I saw him hit was 147kph. What 145kph bowler means is regularly hitting them speeds with effort balls of 150kph or more, someone like Wahab Riaz or Mitchell Starc...JK was never that.

I dunno tho.. I think Taskin Ahmed has potential as a bowler, certainly more than goldfish.

Agreed....Taskin is the real deal and Bangladesh should invest in him rather than that finger spinner. The lad has a good run up, strong broad shoulders and can actually land the ball seam up which is vital for a pace bowler to extract swing or seam.

They still need to work on his mental side of the game but the ingredients are there for him to be a very very good bowler in future.

We are supposed to assess the ability of a bowler. Fizz is a performer.

Averages below 20 in LoIs. Took 9 wickets in 3 matches in WT20. What was Amir's performance at the time.?

Was getting epic phainty from Shikhar, Rohit and Kohli who were all dismissed cheaply by Amir.
 
I'd rate Mustafizur as having the potential to become as good a Test bowler as Rahat Ali if he gains 20 kg of muscle and learns to swing a red ball.

None of those are cricket deliveries - they are nonsense T20 circus tricks which only work against men trying to slog.

Try bowling those variations in a Test match. The batsman will just laugh on his way to 145 not out (250 balls).

My friend.

Please look beyond Fizz initial performances. All in Mirpur and T20 bash cricket.

Amir is a proven performer at ODI and test level in different conditions.

Also - just look at the bowling of both and it is clear as day Amir is on a different planet.

Apart from BD fans - do you honestly think anyone else rates Fizz over Amir? :-)

And who do honestly think Kohli or Amla or Smith or Root would rather face? Fizz or Amir? 90mph v 85mph? Off cutter trick or swing both ways? Amir can reverse swing the ball too. Seriously, anyone who has played any cricket and understand it will laugh at the comparison.

And to repeat what the last poster said - the karam ball? The knuckle ball? LOL LOL LOL. NO SUCH THINGS!!! These CANNOT be bowled by a paceman and please don't give examples of the odd delivery that behaved wierdly. Fizz bowls the leg cutter. This is a very common fast bowlers delivery. Fizz bowled this well. Unless he develops conventional swing and reverse swing, he will not succeed.
 
Imagine, if Amir has not been interrupted for 5 years, Cricket lowers all over the world have enjoyed him bowl. We would not have these thread. As Kohli has once said, "if he has been playing for last 5 years, he would have been one of the world top 1/2 bowlers", he understand that, even Indian does not have a high quality seamer like Amir, that too years ago!!

Mustafizur has to be more versatile, has to have the capability to swing the ball(not cutters) and that too at pace, then we can talk...Frankly his is not at the level of Amir. Amir's competition is more with Strac and Rabada, he swings new ball better than both of them BTW. Hopefully he will get more fitter and aggressive(needs to get over the past and go all out attack on the field), he will be more dangerous come WC 2019...Don't forget, Amir's favorite country to bowl is England ;-)

One of the reason, so many drop catches on Amir's bowling, Amir's ball swings a lot, when he gets it right, it late swings, difficult to catch... "Ball Guhamti bhoot hai" :)

1: Cook: Trying to defend
2: Malan: Defending
3: Bairstow: Through the defense
4: Bess: Drive cum defense
5: Wood: Defense
 
This fizz is a domestic grade bowler and won't even make water bottle duty in the Pakistan team. Will make the starting lineup in Indian team however and be their best bowler.
 
mustafizur first needs to increase his pace... he is too slow to be compared to fast bowler... :))
compare him to razzaq or irfan pathan
 
Amir is miles ahead.
Fizz is. the second coming of ajantha mendis
But amir is not amongst the top test bowlers. In t20s he is a beast and in odis
He is good(not extraordinary ).

We felt Junaid's absence in NZ. Ruman Raees is just not good enough for ODIs.



Junaid is severely underrated on PP. He is a really good option to have in the death and can complement Amir quite well in the opening overs. People forget and I keep reminding them when Amir was ripping through India in the CT final, Junaid on the other end had figures of something along the lines of 4 overs for 12 runs. Which are spectacular considering the opposition was chasing a runrate of 7 from ball one. I think his spell greatly contributed to Amir's performance.

Junaid is good but he is Pakisfan’s worst ODI pacer as he is not of the class of Amir and Hasan.

Mustafizur Rahman is not even on the level of Pakistan’s worst pacer, that is my point :)

True in the right conditions and when he is bowling well he is a must have in our squad. It provides us with another option and he can hold an end up. I dont know what his fitness is like at the moment but if he is fully fit he has to play in our ODI squad and we should see if he can act as backup in the test squad too.
 
Fizz has regressed so rapidly....he shouldn't be in the comparison list anymore until some exceptionally good performances in both shorter and longer versions.

That's every BD posters do know. What he is saying is still Mustafiz is statistically ahead, which is a fact.

I don't think if people can boldly make comments like post # 131, one should be insulted to state the fact. Mustafiz was a Diamond category pick in PAK's sate of the art T20 tournament - that should be indicative of the standard for either one.

He reminds me a bit of Ajantha Mendis, who started off with a bang but slowly the mystery disappeared and his career went downhill.

Hopefully he bounces back though, he is still young.
 
People keep telling that Fizz is nothing but a trundler, Fizz sucks, etc.

The reality is Fizz has one of the best Strike Rates in ODIs off late. This year I am sure he is among the leading pacers in the world.

Won his side 2 matches back to the back with the ball.
 
Amir is a complete nobody in ODIs. 1 or 2 fluke matches don't change anything. Mustafizur has achieved more in his short ODI career than Amir ever will.

In terms of stats yes, but not in terms of winning tournaments. However, he can change that in the Final

That hardly means anything if it's a one match wonder. Even Ishant Sharma bowled India to a CT victory. Munaf Patel bowled us to a WC victory!

Amir is done. He should stick to PSL and CPL now. Maybe think about being a T20 specialist for Pakistan.

Not Mustafizur's fault BD don't reach finals as often as other big teams. He is more talented than Amir in ODIs at least. I never rate players based on just 1 or 2 matches, final or not.
